1 Million Bucks... 1 charity only.....

Another for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

And the second million for Children's Cancer research. Fortunately we have not been affected by it but the entire thought just scares the crap out of me. I can't imagine what the children and their families go through. :sad1:

Since my 14 year-old niece suffers with this disease, I would definitely, without a doubt, donate all 1 million to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. I would want to have a hand in paying for the research that finally finds the cure for her and for millions of others with this life-shortening disease.

Followed by a close second of Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation since I'm a survivor of Lymphoma.

National Kidney Foundation. My brother died due to scleroderma-related complications including kidney failure, and this was HIS wish.

Planned Parenthood, with a specific stipulation to give the wonderful ladies who have been taking care of me for so many years GIANT bonuses. They deserve it! :lovestruc

otherwise, some sort of animal/rescue society, probably something focused on Chow Chows.

Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, a rescue organization for big cats located in the Arkansas Ozarks, would be my first choice. A close second would be a pet shelter in the same area. They often have a tough time getting funds while those close to me seem to have plenty of benefactors.

*waving from NW Arkansas* Hey! That is my neck of the woods. I even got to help (worked in a veterinary clinic) when one of their tiger cubs had a broken leg.

My first thought was Shriner's or Children's. Or maybe Samaritan's Purse for Operation Christmas Child.......... I think it would be something I would have to give a lot of thought and prayer to.... it isn't as easy as it sounds.

Pancreatic cancer research. Too many DIS friends and real life friends have had to battle this beast.

It would be a happy day when the survival stats for pancreatic cancer come even close to the survival stats for breast cancer.

National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias (link for more info) .. Hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia runs in my mother's side of the family, and I'm a carrier.

Second million would go to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. A good friend of mine passed away about 5 years ago now from CF - he was 26.

I would give it to a small charity so that it would really make a difference, probably Phoenix Landing which helps provide teaching, training and re-homing for parrots and their human friends.

Natinal Association of free clinics.
Sex education for teens
Gun Control
Hispanic scholarship foundation
Shriners Hospital
St Jude Hospital

The Sea Sheperd Conservation Society. If you are interested, check out their web site SeaSheperd.org.

Any charity helping with research for Huntington's Disease

Hey there!!! I'm jealous. I love your part of the world and hope to somehow get up there sometime during the holidays. And yes, visit Turpentine Creek too. :)
