I know what you mean about being excited about handing out the loot. Does anyone know what night the pirate thing is? What if we divide the group up into three days? Then we can have stuff delivered on the 1st three nights (saturday, sunday, monday). Then if other people want to hand out more, they can surprise everyone on the later nights.

I think 3 otters is just having one FE. (we are cruising together) Their rooms are connecting. But I'll double check with her.

Yes, I was planning on only one for the whole family. I had meant if the extender should have one pocket for the whole family or a pocket for each member. I thought about it and will probably do one for each and a family pocket in case any messages etc are left by others the we and the boys will meet along the way. I like the idea of spreading out over at least a few days makes it more fun for the kids and likely a great way to get them back to the room at night, after all who wants to leave all the fun stuff to just go to bed. Can't wait to meet all of you guys. Where are you all from? We are from Buffalo, New York. And obviously we are newbies to Disney cruise lines but have cruised before we had kids in the past. We are traveling with Cyndik1111 and two others families are expected to be going with us, will try to get them involved as well if no one minds. Working on thoughts for my extender and presents.

What are DD and DS I have been noticing them...is it disney son/daughter???
Thanks, Hope to get to know all of you.
Karen

HI! You are correct, although I have seen 'dear' as well i.e. DS = dear son (not really sure about the 'dear' part but it's easier than writing son/daughter etc). there are a TON of acronyms on these boards, and an acronym guide in the FAQ (frequently asked questions LOL - see another acronym!) at the top of the page. You can also use DH for dear husband etc etc.

As for the fish extenders - I am going to opt out. I hope noone thinks badly of us, I am just really disorganized and we are spending a few days before and after the cruise at WDW so I am worried about remembering everything, room for packing etc.

One other thing I might suggest, again totally up to you guys, is linking reservations. The last cruise I was on was with the 'NanaHeads' (all of whom we met through a cruise meet thread) and we were seated at one big table. It was nice, because even though we didn't know anyone, we had 'sortof' gotten to know people via the boards (i.e. knew where they lived, what they did for a living, who was the comedien etc etc). The first cruise we were on we were seated with people who were OK, but really different from us, nothing in common, nothing to speak about so it made dinners somewhat uncomfortable/awkward (and that was only a 4 night!). Anyway, if that's something anyone wants to do I would be up for it. We are on late seating at the moment.

I totally understand. Why don't you give us your room number anyway. Maybe you'll find a little surprise one day waiting for you. After all, it is a cruise on the "Magic"

Well - that's totally nice of you! Actually we are in a GTY so I don't think we will know until a few weeks before - and actually are kinda hoping to upgrade at the Port (in a GTY 12 at the moment) so I might actually not know until 'the big day' - but thanks again for the offer! :thumbsup2

Nikitta28,
Will you have 2 FE's one for each room or 1 FE for the whole family on just 1 room? Just trying to figure out if I should list both rooms.

Hello everyone! I have managed to book our Palo Dinner and gotten Dutch registered in the Kids Club. I also booked the Mayan Ruins excursion for Cozumel, and am undecided on Grand Caymen. What excursions is everyone planning on?

Proably two FE's

In so far as excursions, esp. Grand Caymen, its easy as pie top get off the boat and take a cab to sea grape beach or whereever and MUCH cheaper. If you are interested in excursions I highly suggest "the unofficial guide" or something similar if you havent cruised before. Paradise beach in Mexico is WONDERFUL and not even listed as an excursion. I HIGHLY suggest that you look that up. Our 4 families cruising together will for sure be hitting Paradise beach!

We do
1)key west- aquarium- butterfly conservatory- shopping (on our own taking cabs)
2)grand caymen- sea grape beach- take a cab (might try something different this year)
3)paradise beach- take a cab- wouldnt miss
4)castaway- first off the boat- last people back on- occasionally do fishing

My kids are getting SOOOOOOOOO excited. My oldest couldnt even look at the boards last night because she said it would be torture for her.

Castaway - parasailing
Cozumel - swim with dolphins
Grand Cayman - 1/2 submarine tour (unsure about this one...anyone have info about it?)

I think I might be going on this cruise! I'm trying to talk my husband into it right now!

I did it! We're going! I'm in a cat 9---and my room is not assigned until check in. Couldn't beat the airfare @ $72 each way for direct flights---I love Airtran!!

This is my second DCL---the first was a 4 night. I hope the weather is better than that trip too....we went the first week in February and it was only 60's in Nassau. But it didn't matter because it was -15 @ home. I'm in Rochester, NY area....and I noticed there are some Buffalo people looking to escape too! YAY!!

I think it's 78 days until travel....... :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

We are escaping winter weather too--we are from Erie, PA. We know all about "Lake Effect Snow"! Blah!!!

welcome jdes88,
us fellow wny'ers will be looking for you. hopefully we'll be sipping our drinks in the warm southern sun while hearing all about the "lake effect" back home.

Just an FYI,
It looks like our ship isn't going to be too full. I checked the disney website and there were at least 12 navigator verandas available (including one secret). Plus the price is $1 more than I paid when I booked Dec 2007. I may get a Palo res tonight at midnight after all.
