Kim (disney kat),

It is my understanding with the FE's that people can leave as much or as little as they like whenever they would like. I have read some posts where it was organized through the DIS meets that people were assigned days to deliver a surprise to the fish extenders, but I think usually it is spontaneous. I guess it would be decided by the people on the thread which way it should be done.

If you are all serious about doing this I wouldn't mind making a list and updating it, unless someone else wants to. Let me know if people are intersted.
I think thei is a great idea. TW2123 would you mind getting this started. Maybe everyone who is interested can submit cabin #, cabin members (ages of kids) and any special event (bday etc)

We would LOVE to participate! Maybe someone could post a message on the main DIS board and get more details about how this thing is supposed to work. However, I guess we could just make it up as we go along. Its all about fun anyways, right?

I'm a fairly crafty person and I think the idea of homeade gifts is really neat! Lets see how creative people can be:yay:

Thanks to the poster who offered to get this started and organized! This is something that could really make everyone's trip that more memorable!:cool1:

Yes, I would be happy to start a list, and I will try my best to keep it updated. Anyone intersted in the FE group exchange please list your cabin#, cabin members and ages, and if there are any special events you are celebrating. Also I found some ideas and suggestions at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1976200 hopefully it will help.

I'll go first. It will be three of us: DH (Greg), Me (Cyndi), DD5 (Jilly). We are in cabin 6634 (one of those obstructed veranda rooms). I'm not that crafty. I would hate to give your kids something I made! EEK. But I'll try. I guess I have to "make" a fish extender. I remember reading that someone used an xmas stocking. So they don't need to be formal "FE's"
We are traveling with another couple who have 3 boys
I'll get them to log on and join the fun.
Is any of you really good at organizing? If so, please take the lead. Let me know what you nedd me to do, i take direction very well (LOL)
thanks Cyndi

Way to take the lead Cyndi! I'll go next.

Rooms 1051 and 1053 (this is what you get when you sign up late and need connecting rooms...we'll make the most of it!)

My husband, myself and 5 children...DS(14) DS(11) DS(will turn 9 two days before cruise) DD(will soon be 4) and DS(2)

We know other families going, so I will spread the word about the FE fun!

Here is our info, too!
Cabin # 6522
There are 2 adults: Me - Amy(27) and DH- Chris (will turn 27 during the cruise. His birthday is on January 25-I think thats Key West day!)

If I can help with anything let me know, too! Thanks to whoever is going to organize this :-):cake: :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Ok everyone I am gathering the info and starting the list soon. Also disney kat I was wondering if you were planning on having two fish extenders (one per room) or just one for the whole family? I know you probably haven't planned that far in advance I was just wondering if I should list both rooms?

I just posted a message on the general cruise boards directing anyone interested to come to this link and give their info. Also asking for advise from experienced FE-ers. I hope that's OK with everyone

I suppose I will just make one extender. I would like to think I will have the time to make a decent one with pockets for everyone, but it could just end up being a canvas tote bag...who knows?!!! I think with the holidays approaching, the next three months are going to fly by. You can just list one of the rooms for us, so as not to confuse anyone. Thanks!

We would like to join in the FE's also. We will be in cabin 6614. Myself Marybeth, DH Darren, DD (12) Deanna and DS (10) Darren Jr. I think this will be a lot of fun!:cheer2:

We're coming on this rockin boat also! For the FE thing, is someone going to make a huge list and email it to us all? Do we make deposits once during the 7 days or multiple times?

Sorry, never done this before.

Hi! I learned about this from a friend and we would be interested. We are in rooms 6640 and 6642. There are five of us: me Karen, Husband Tim, Children... Alex 9, Nathan7 and Nicholas to be 5 (his birthday is the 27). Sounds like it could be a lot of fun for all and a great way to meet people. thanks for including us.
I know this is a dumb question ( but only if not asked I suppose) What are DD and DS I have been noticing them...is it disney son/daughter???
Thanks, Hope to get to know all of you.

another question about the FE. Are you all planning on a single pocket for the whole family or multi pocket for each person fishextender? I had seen both and not sure which to plan for. Wonder if single pocket may be better so that the surprise will be geared for the whole family in stead of individuals. Also are we thinking daily surprises? Just want to know what to plan for. Also an on board meeting was suggested in one area to get to know everyone and to help set up the guidelines. Let me know what you think.

How should we handle the gift giving? I was reading other posts and it seems like most people give to each cabin (all people or just kids in cabin) once per cruise. Then we might assign each family a night so that the gifts are spread out. Please give feed back how we should do it.

I have never done the FE thing either, but I was under the impression that everyone gives at least once to everyone on the list, but some give more than once. If anyone wants to give more, they can, but that it should be spread out so not all the gifts are distributed on the same night. Spreading out the fun and for adults and kids :)
I guess it depends how many people sign up to be on the list also.
I'm getting very excited! I know for sure one thing I am going to pass out--and its a homeade item:-) I better start now so we have time to make them:banana:

3 otters I was wondering if you are planning on have 2 fish extenders (one per room) or just one for the whole family? I need to know if I should list both rooms or just one of them.

I agree with ErieCruiser08 as to how I understand the FE exchange is usually done (give at least once to everyone on the list.) Although like cyndik1111 said maybe we should assign nights so it is spread out throughout the cruise.

I just realized I am the only one with nameless family members on the list...my kids really do have names! My husband is Tom and my kids are Tyler (14), Brody(11), Griffin(will be 9), Zoey(almost 4), & Jordan(2).

I have a gift in mind that would be just one per cabin, but if I do something smaller I will put stuff in everyone's pocket (regardless of family size). I will probably have a pocket for each of my kids, in case I want to put notes/treats in them throughout the trip. My hanger might have a bigger (family) pocket on top and smaller (kids) pockets below. I certainly don't want anyone to feel they need to put something in each one. This should be fun and free of stress!!!

I think we would want to deliver stuff on one of the first days, since it might be something usefull on the cruise...plus, we will be excited to do it! Everyone else probably feels the same way!!!
