1/22/2006 Roll Call for Wonder Cruisers

I am a member of the Obsessive Compulsive Planning group. I try to outline most everything we're going to do, but feel free to deviate if the need arises. My friend has been buried in completing her Ph.D. and leading the completion of a 15 million dollar+ building project. So I am her official travel planner (no pressure)! In fact, before & during the trip she calls me "Pal Gayle"! Lots of you have been hinting about some of your plans, so I'm proud to add our details here!

Gayle: Kara is lucky! I wish I had someone plan everything for me so I could just show up and have fun! Actually, I am quite envious of your plans.... There are so many things that I would do if we were sans kids, but our kids are the reason we chose Disney! And it wouldn't be a "family" vacation without them (which is why I really don't want them in the kids club the whole time).

(BTW, my middle name is Gayle. )

We spent WAY too much time at World of Disney, and went to Tiffany's twice!

Kelli: I sure hope you have something to show for your two trips to Tiffany's!

Working on costumes....I bought a skirt and also a couple hats in NYC, so I have a start....nothing like the last minute planning!!!

I'm still working on mine too. As I said, I hate it, but it might be okay if I can get out my sewing machine this week.

Anyone heard from Alvaro at all? He said he'd have internet, so he must be having too much fun to chat with us!!

The last PM I got from Alvaro, said that he be checking in with YOU! He's having way too much fun, I guess!

Well, I decided to score major points with my mil and bought her a necklace...then decided my sil (not the one that went w/me, Keith's sis in WI) "needed" this awesome keychain. That was the first trip...then my sil (that I went with) decided to see how much this cute little clutch purse was that my neice was raving over, but didn't have the nerve to ask the price. So, the 2nd trip was just the 2 of us while Jesse was having chills and a sore throat back at the hotel. It turned out it was "only" $95, so she bought that for her birthday, and I decided I *must* have something, so I bought a silver pen. I just couldn't pass up the 2nd opportunity! It was fun because all 3 salespeople were SO nice, and it was Tiffany's!!!!

Well, he finally got off his duff and emailed me this morning!!! He finished both the 1/2 and the full marathons, and got all 4 medals...Donald for the 1/2, Mickey for the full, and the Goofy for doing both (I love the symbolism!!! )...he hasn't mentioned yet what the Chicken Little medal is for, but I'm sure we can all come up with a better story than the truth!!! Any ideas?!?!?!?

So, he's alive and well...just bummed that the starting temp for marathons was 33º and 34º!!!!

Well, he finally got off his duff and emailed me this morning!!! He finished both the 1/2 and the full marathons, and got all 4 medals...Donald for the 1/2, Mickey for the full, and the Goofy for doing both (I love the symbolism!!! )...he hasn't mentioned yet what the Chicken Little medal is for, but I'm sure we can all come up with a better story than the truth!!! That is way to funny. I am sure we can think of a meaning for a Chicken Little medal before next week. 33-34 degrees.....WOW....he should come run here. Just kidding. It has been so warm for here. All of our snow has melted. This morning it was 14 degrees, which is the coldest it has been for several weeks.

hmmmmmm....Tiffany's......never been there, but if I were to go, I would truly buy something and it would be for ME!

Kelli: Did you say that you had a ton of glow necklaces left over from the repo cruise? Were you going to bring them? I have 4 necklaces, but I have about 10 sticks that I could bring. If you bring the necklaces, I might leave the sticks at home.

I can stop by the dollar tree. They have medals and awards. We could then download a pic of chicken little to make a medallion and glue or fasten it to the front of the award. We could also print out a certificate "award" of off my hallmark card shop. We could make a bit of a ceremony out of it and everyone could toast the award!

The thread on the main board has me wondering: Where is everyone planning to eat lunch that first day after boarding?

My first choice would be Parrot Cay because Topsiders sounds too confusing, esp with kids and carryons. Maybe it depends on the weather, or if the kids are itching to swim the minute we get on the ship.

Oh. Great idea. If you bring those, I will bring the bracelets and some confetti! When we went to DH party at his conference last summer the adults were putting them around the stem of their wine/margarita glasses to lightup the night. Of course the kids just wore theirs!

Hey they just metioned on our local news that there was a stand off with hostages at a bank very close to disney tonight but I guess everyone is ok.
