1/10/09- EARLY Roll Call! Who's coming?

She will be 12.5 yrs, which is perfect! They will be in the 11-13 together!

PM me and let me know if your DD has IM or they can PM each other on here. It really makes it a lot better when the kids know someone already onboard. A couple of cruises ago DD had been talking with a couple of girls a few months before the cruise. When they got onboard, they had a blast!

DH and I will be on this cruise. Just checked and we will have a full moon on the 11th. Yes, yes some of us will have more than 1 full moon :lmao: :rotfl:

We will also be on this cruise, DH, DD, DSIN, & DGD. DH & myself will be @ OKW on 1/7-1/9 & then post cruise will be back @ OKW for 6 days. Should be a great time. Looking forward to it. Right now getting ready to visit WDW fro 9-3 to 9-19. :cool1: :cheer2:

Thats awesome Pansy! It will make for beautiful night photos of the moon glistening on the water :thumbsup2

Anyone else want to sign up for the fish extenders? Current list is on page 56. PM me if you want to join!

We're coming too!:cool1:
Can't wait, I've GOT to start getting my ducks in a row and plan the details of this trip! There are 4 of us. me, DH, and 2 DD's in college. For the first time ever, we have booked 2 rooms.

oooO The fish extenders were soooo much fun last time, we all want to do it again! So count us in:goodvibes

We are just begining to get excited, and hope to sneak in a day or two at Magic Kingdom ahead of sailing:woohoo:

Hello!!!

I will be joining your cruise along with my friend, Carla, my DD's m-i-l. My DH Dave can't get the time off work so it's just a girls' weeklong get-a-way.

We just got off the Wonder yesterday with our family group of 11. What a fun time our 4 little Musketeers had. The oldest is 6 and the youngest is 2. Carla had such a great time on this first cruise that she talked me into booking another cruise, so we did!

Looking forward to catching up on the posts and getting to know all of you.

Welcome aboard to all the new cruisers. Been away for awhile. Looking forward to catching up with everyone. Does anyone else have a DD around the age of 3. Our 3 yr old DD will be with my wife and I, as well as my parents.

Hello again! I've just started my real planning for this trip! (We just returned from a 6 day trip to Disney this week! We won in the Year of a Million Dreams! We got to stay at Magic Kingdom for an hour after closing! It was SOOOO much fun!) Anyway, I'm on ebay right now trying to order a fish extender (I'm not so crafty!!). How does this work exactly? Do I bring a gift for everyone on the list? When do I put the gift in? Do we have assigned days? How many are on the list? Will we have room numbers?

I'm new to Disney cruising!!! So, thanks for your patience!

What excursions are you thinking of booking?

Hey! I missed this before! My dd will be 3 on Jan 28 and she'll be on the cruise with us! She just potty trained so I'm hoping I don't have to take her to Flounder's Reef!!

What is the advantage to booking another cruise while still on the boat? Do they give you a discount? I want to be prepared to make that decision to get the best deal possible!!

Oh and I hear ya' on the weather!!! We're going to be driving, unless I can find a better deal flying (unlikely with six of us!!). This past Jan when we drove back from DIsney, we drove through snow in Atlanta!!! Yikes!!

Jennifer :woohoo:

Jennifer: I just booked airline tickets last weekend on cheapoair dot com. We are flying out of Detroit nonstop to Orlando, return flight has a stop in Cincinnati, total cost per ticket is $183.50.

Wow, guys, it really is getting closer! The kids and I watched the cruise dvd and made a 100 day count down chain, and they can start taking down the chain this week! Our dd turns 3 the 1st day of the cruise, so the last chain is a special pink one for her. She tells everyone "I'm goin' to see Minnie Mouse on my burt-day". She is just potty-trained, hoping she will really get it mastered by trip time!
Does anyone know yet which excursions they will be doing? We are trying to finalize plans. We got the REAS package, so we booked a brunch at Palo for Thurs., but bec. we had to have 2 staterooms, we could'nt book excursions or anything else yet. So we are really hoping excursions aren't all booked up at 75 days! Have fun planning!

Oh - I love the 100 day countdown!! I think I'll steal that idea!

Good luck with the rest of potty training - we're in the same boat (heehee).

Excursions - we just booked the dolphin swim at Chankanaab in Cozumel on our own. I emailed the place and a wonderful woman named Anna wrote me back and took care of our ressies personally. I'm doing the swim with my ds10. The rest of the kidlets and dh will buy entry to the park (with the $2 off coupon!) when we get there. Anna said the rest of the family was welcome to watch us swim with the dolphins with park entry only - no extra pass for that! Saved about $200 booking ourselves.

I think we're doing the Seaworld Explorer Semi-Submarine excursion in Grand Cayman. There were three submarines and we would've rather done the one that goes down 90 feet, but dd was too little. So, the semi-submarine it is! I hope it's not full when we can book!

What are you looking at?

I've just printed off a bunch of magnets for my door. I also printed off a few iron-on transfers to make t-shirts for dd. (My older boys are WAY too "cool" for those! LOL) I bought my pillowcases. I bought trading pins for the boys. I could leave tomorrow!! Really, though, we got back from a Disney trip last week and I've got post-trip depression, so I'm planning full-force for our cruise!

Where are you all staying the night before the cruise?

Our daughter will turn 3 in Nov and she has so far got the potty thing down. This is going to be cool with a couple other 3 yr old's. Hopefully they can be friends and have someone to hang out with at the kids club.

WoW I am having trouble keeping this surprise from my daughter!
We are staying at POFQ for a week (Jan 3-10) and then over to the cruise! I want to make a 100 link chain too, but I can't! She has absolutely no clue she is going anywhere in January!

Any more people for fish extender sign up? Do me a favour and PM ME rather than just posting here so I don't miss it!
I think the cut off day for sign up will be Dec. 15th, so we have time to get organized and get our treats to put in! Anyone want Canadian chocolate? :)

I have a question about the FE's. Do we put someting in them everyday or how does that work? also, what types of things should we put in there?:confused3

I had the same questions!! I think there's a whole variety of things people put in there. I saw pictures of peoples' goodies on another thread - people had bandanas for pirate night, lanyards, jam (I guess it was made in the town she was from), magnets, stickers, pads of paper, etc. Most was really fun!

My questions are: how many of us are there? Do we get room numbers? Or just walk around aimlessly gifting people? How many of us are there?

I just ordered my FE! I'm getting very excited!

I found this info on another DIS post, it seems to explain what fish extenders are :)

"The Fish Extender is something that you hang on the metal fish outside your cabin door. It usually has pockets on it...it kind of acts like a mail box. Each member of your family can have a pocket. Then if you get involved with the Disers here, once you get onboard you can give/recieve small little gifts for each other."

"Examples of what to put in other peoples fish externders:
glow necklaces and bracelets
chinese finger traps
mickey drinking straws
glow in the dark straws
pirate pencils
princess pencils
note pads
hersheys kisses
all kinds of miniature candy bars
gum
disney post cards
party favor horns your blow
little games you roll the ball through the maze, sold in sets of 12 where they sell party favors.
small rubber duckie for 1 and 2 year olds who cant eat the candies.
football or baseball cards for tween boys in the family.
Mickey wash clothes
small sample size hand lotions
flavored chap sticks
highlighter pens to use to mark your navigator paper
skull rings (pirate night)
eye patches (pirate night)

go to dollar stores or close out tables in places like walgreens and target, walmart. Also some stores have a dollar area, to check out.

have fun looking"

Well, that makes it a little clearer. So everyone in the cabin does not get something everyday, I got it. Makes me feel a little better. I was thinking I am going to be broke from paying for the cruise!!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Hey everyone,

It’s been great talking with you these past few months, working up the hype and excitement about this wonderful cruise… but unfortunately it looks like our Disney Cruise will have to be pushed off till next year. My mother (and travel companion) was recently diagnosed with cancer, and we had been waiting for all the test results to come in before making any decisions as to whether or not we could still make it to the cruise. We got those results yesterday. It turns out the tumor in my mothers colon is in fact stage 3 cancer; the tumor is 5 inches long and partly detached. There is a major fear at this point that if it detaches it will block the colon and she would require emergency surgery (requiring the anus to be sealed up and an external waist bag be added.) As much as we all want to go on this cruise, the danger of being in a foreign country or out exploring Mayan ruins if this tumor detaches is just too big of a risk. She has an aggressive radiation and chemo schedule – every day for the next 6 weeks, maybe longer – then she has to wait 6 to 8 weeks for her body to recover before attempting surgery to remove the tumor. :sad2:

I hope you all have a wonderful time on this cruise, and hopefully my family and I will have the chance to meet some of you in January 2010. If you have a chance, I would be thank-full for any healing prayers sent out to whatever God or Goddess you worship… we could use all the help we can get at this point.
