1/10/09- EARLY Roll Call! Who's coming?

Hi guys this is hard for me..... well we had to cancel our cruise for next year:( but with full intention of rebooking for 2010.

So you folks have a great time!

Wow!!! I can not wait. We are alrady talking about booking for 2010 while we are onboard.:yay:

Anyone planning on going to Paradise Beach in Cozumel and want to share a cab there? Its about $15 one way... so we could go halves.

I think we are going to go to Chankanaab National Park. We went over there in 2005 when we were on NCL and had a blast. They have a great beach and snorkel area. Plus, a very good resturant to eat at on the beach.

I'm not sure where we want to go yet... I'd like to see some of the ruins-- has anyone done any of the excursions that visit those?

DW and I went on the Tulim ruins tour back in 2004. While we enjoyed the ruins, the tour guide in Costa Maya was much better and informative. I think that your experience will vary according to the information that the tour guide delivers.

Hello Everyone!

I will be joining you on this cruise!

I’m 27yrs old and live in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. I’ve never been on a cruise before (due to my fear of water) but I’m hoping all the Disney goodness will help me overcome that fear. I’ll be accompanied by my parents, who don’t have a clue that I’ve book this vacation yet :) I plan to have a surprise party in August to let them know (complete with blow up palm trees, stick-on porthole windows, and everything Disney that I can find!)

My Parents took me to Disney World in Orlando back in 1991, and now that I’m old enough I want a chance to take them on a Disney adventure. I booked us a Cat 6 room between the mid and back elevators. I’m hoping it will be big enough; they can sleep on the Queen bed and I’ll sleep on the convertible couch. The hardest part is trying not to talk about the trip to them, especially when I’m visiting and hear my Mom comment “I wish we had the money to take a trip” My mom is retired and my Dad will hopefully be by the time we go on the cruise.

I’m ultra excited about going! I’ve printed off all the information online from excursions and shopping to dinner menus at each restaurant (and even picked out yummy meals I want to eat!) I can’t wait to visit the Spa onboard… I’ve never had a massage before and I’m looking at getting the aroma therapy hot rock massage!

I picked the Western cruise because I really want to see the old ruins; I can’t wait for that!

I love all Disney characters, but I’ve got a major soft spot for Tinkerbell. My name actually means Queen of the Fairies, and my Mom has always said my personality matched that of a playful, kindhearted, and wildly spirited fairy.

Well, that’s me in a nutshell. I can’t wait till January!!! Its great to have a place to connect with all you wonderful people and future cruise mates :hyper:

Thanks! Did you do the all day (7 hour) tour? Can I ask how much strenuous walking was involved and if it would be possible to stop and rest if needed or if it follows a path that doesn't allow for any extra pausing? I will be traveling with my mom who has asthma and while I'm sure she'd be up to it, I'd like to know whether there is the chance to stop if needed. :)

WOW!!! Our cruise is starting to fill up!!! Yippee!!!

I'm SOOO in on the fish extenders!!! So, where can I get one for a family of 6? I could make it, but I'm just SOOO busy. Actually, if anyone has a pattern or directions, I'll take that too. It'll be me, dh, ds (12), ds (11 at time of cruise), ds (8), and dd (Very nearly 3 on the cruise).

Dh and I just went over our shore excursions the other day. I think we're going to go it on our own in Key West. We want to see Hemmingway's house and the southernmost point in the US.

Grand Cayman - We're thinking of the Seaworld Explorer Semi-Submarine. WE chose this one because our entire family could go on it. My ds 12 wants to do the one that goes down 90 feet, but then my baby cannot go on it and I think the other two boys would chicken out! Any feedback on this one?

Cozumel - I'm going to do the Dolphin Discovery one. Anyone done this? It's so much cheaper to book on your own. Anyone done that? What if there's a change in itinerary on the ship? Would I get my money back?

We wanted to do Tulum, but decided that would be just too long to be away and may be too strenuous for dd. Same with the Four Elements one. We'd have to split up for that too.

So, I need votes here. Should I pay for the cruise now (with the Disney card and get 6 months to pay it off and it'd be paid off before we sail), or when I have to (still taking 6 months to pay it off, but then be paying for it after we get home). I really like the idea of it all being paid for before we even get there, but I also like the idea of that money sitting in my account for a few more months earning ME the interest!

Anyway, that's us in a nutshell! I look forward to meeting all of you!

Welcome everyone!
Don't forget if you want to be in on the fish extenders, you can pm me and I will add you to the list - its on post #56.
Jennifer In MI - I added you! :)

As for paying off your cruise - I wouldn't - once you pay it off, if the fare lowers, you can't get the lower fare. This is what I heard, not sure if it is true. Also, why pay interest on your credit card on it? I would pay it as you have the $$. I have been tossing 100 on my cruise here and there!

Thanks for adding me!

I need to go back and look. I was under the impression that if I paid with my Disney card that I'd get 6 months interest free to pay it off. Nope - I never pay interest on my credit cards!!! I'll have to ask about getting the lower rate . . . Interesting!
