09/28/2002 Cruise

Rae ... Your mom had lived in Carbondale, Honesdale - Scranton Area ... that's where we are. Is there anything that we could bring that she might get a kick out of seeing? Also is there anything that we could do/bring from our hometowns that would help with the homeschooling of your son?

My SIL called and said that if they do the shuttle launch when we are to leave port, the ships delay their departure cause of the need to allow for the dropping of the launch fuel tanks/cells/rockets. Never gave a thought to that!

I had a client tell me that they went on the Ruin tour in Cozumel and their shoes got really dirty and there was a lot of walking involved. FYI - Also they said to be prepared cause some places are true Mexican and take a Siesta Break mid-day!

Back to work....

Cathy dad is doing very well in all departments:)

Donna our reservations for dining are linked welcome to our table. Kathy, Cathy, Art and I are glad that you are joining us. The more the merrier. Mary on the next list update please put DonnaMd dinning with us and @GoofyNut. Mike

Hello,

Received the scoop on the Western Union Schooner - excursion not offered - since schooner will not be in Key West.

Also, our dinner has been changed from 6:00pm to 5:30pm.

Beth - our rotation is APLAPLA.

Take Care

I just spoke to DCL. They said that our cruise hasn't changed the dining times, YET. I guess it's a waiting game.

Kimber

Kimber,

That is crazy - I called (when I dropped my excursions) and they said that they did change it. I guess it is the law of averages. One more call and see what happens. I am calling again.

Thanks

I too just called (for the second time this week) and they said our times were changed!Guess we will have to wait and see. Elaine

Thank you Elaine - but I just called too (2nd time today) - and they said it was not changed. Will somebody make up their minds?

Goofynut (Mike) - thanks so much for the offer for both me and Mom! We can't think of a thing right now, but will rain check your offer!;)
By the way, are you Slovak? Can ya' polka?!

There was a big Pierogi Festival here in Indiana two weeks ago. I thought it was hysterical that a guy was actually dressed up as Mr. Pierogi (my son then reminded me that Mickey Mouse is really a guy dressed up in a mouse costume - so much for the fantasy)
Indiana has lots of festivals and fairs - you name it, they will celebrate it! When Mom moved here from upstate NY, we were passing through Batesville, In where the Casket Factory is -and she asked me "Do they have a Casket Festival?" I laughed so hard I almost had to pull over! (By the way, they don't, but you can just imagine how downhill our conversation went after that question!!!!)

DonnaMD - so you are on Late Dining, ohhh well, we are on the Main Dining list - guess that idea is shot!! Whatever time the next person is told by DCL! Sort of reminds me of the Amer Ex thread!!! FRUSTRATING!

Am I still the only one wanting to do the Horseback Ride Excursion?

Rae

DisVAClub ... OK how did you find out your dining rotation? Not that it matters but would love to know.

Rae ... YES I am Slovak (and German) and don't laugh, I can polka.
Funny story, on our first cruise they asked where everyone was from in the lounge and my SIL yells out PA ... next thing you know, they played the Beer Barrel Polka and made me and Art get up and dance ... that usually dosen't work out well cause he can't Polka, but what the heck we tried and gave everyone a good laugh. Mrs T's Pierogies are made around here and once and a while you see a Pierogie Hat ... If I find one, it's yours. If it wasn't for stinking out the car on the drive down, I'd bring you some really good homemade Kielbasi (But it wouldn't stand a chance with Art). OK now you did it ... I'm starving for some kielbasi with a side of haluski (cabbage & noodles). Now there is a thought for international night dinner LOL.

GUYS ... wondering if you are planning on bringing back your ESPN mugs for a refill? They still do that don't they?

What are most of you wearing for Mexican night ... tropical stuff or Mexican Hat kind of stuff? We already have tropical wear that I'd thought of taking BUT don't want to be out of place.

OK I'm out of here ... having a bad thunder and lightning storm and want off the puter!

Mike!

Polish and you can polka! EXCELLENT!!!!!!!! And even if Art can't then what the hey, have a beer and pretend!

I have tried Mrs T's and Schwann's pierogies and Mom says they make her gag. She makes the best (of course!) but I can't keep the little buggers together and they end up looking pathetic!!
Pierogi hat?! WOW! That would be a keeper!

Haven't had any real good keilbasi since we visited the area a few years ago - you just can't make Hillshire Farms get the recipe right! And haluski - we had that the other night! I also made cabbage soup that "knocked" Mom's socks off! Since she is the big Polska chef of our family - that's quite an accomplishment!
I couldn't blame him a bit if he ate it on the way down - it's hard to resist, hot cold or even frozen (when I just can't wait!)

Out of place with Mexicalifragilistic night outfits? I highly doubt that would happen - I think it's pretty much, anything goes!

I couldn't find out anything about dining rotation from DCL except "you'll find out when you get on the ship" - oh please! Ask one person hear this answer, ask another and get that one. We need Disney to coordinate their answers!

Still looking for MAIN Seating Dining Mates - let me know!

Rae

Hello to the Crewzears Must be a Pa thing deep roots. Barbara- born December 29th, 1951 has never lived outside of Pa. Born and raised in Philly married and moved to Hatfield 29 years ago. First time she ever flew out of Philly was to visit me in Memphis George -born November 30, 1952 and raised in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia about 1 mile from Barbara. Moved to East Orange NJ. to go to college did that for 3 semesters and left for the Navy (family thing). Went down to Memphis (loved it there) for boot, A,and P school. Assigned to squadron on board USS JFK and since it is as big as some town's that classifies. Returned home married and moved to Hatfield and have lived there since. Patrick -born Febuary 1, 1982 will be in school wants to own/manage a auto repair shop. Not crazy about Disney yet, or not as much as Mom and Dad, but we are working on him. Welcome again Kim! My DD is also 10y/o and would love to meet other kids her age.
I have a feeling you may not wish to read all these pages so I will try to give you a recap.

Many of us are meeting for a Pre-cruise get together at the Radisson, the night before we sail.

We hope to ALL get together for the Sail-a-Way party 5pm deck 10 overlooking the Goofy Pool on the dock side of the ship. This is where name tags, lanyards and other "goodies" will be given out. It may also be the only time to meet everyone, as most will be going their own way, doing their own thing. It is also a great photo op!!Remember everyone...ware your Logo T-shirts to the Sail-a-Way!!!!!

@GoofyNut has made "iron on" Logos, she has designed. Once on the LIST, you can contact her for your Logos. She is also making name tags to hang on the Lanyards I am bringing for all cruisers(or until I run out of them)

We (about 30 of us) are getting together for Brunch at Palos on Monday at 10 am. The plan is to reserve several lage tables. If you and DH are interested let TwinAve know.

A bunch of us (about 20) are doing the Captain Marvins Sting Ray Trip. You can book this yourself, via the internet. Mention on your reservation you are part of the DIS group.

I am the keeper of the "LIST". This is a list of all the cruisers who have sent me their information. If you would like a copy, forward me your info, I will add you to the list and forward you a copy.Information includes:
Dis name
e-mail address
real names(first names only) /ages/occupations
kids names/ages
Main or Late seating (If you are interested in "linking your dinning with another cruiser let me know)
Cabin #
Hometown
Where you will be the night before we set sail
Any special occation (birthday, anniversary ect)
PLEASE NOTE: This info is for the LIST only and will not be posted anywhere on a public board. Also feel free to omit any info you do not wish to share.

I would recomend you read at least the last 5-6 pages so you can get a "feel" for the group.

Several of us have cruised before so if you have any question, please ask! We are a friendly, helpful, goofy

:p bunch of Disney Fans!

Mary,

I'm so glad not to see "The List" on any pubic board. That would be scandalous!

Sorry, couldn't resist.
