09/28/2002 Cruise

Welcome aboard eshannon. Kathy and i have been on 2 disney cruises, this will be #3. All without kids!!!! Love it. The service is great and that is why we return. A Cat6 or Cat5 both have verandahs and that will do nicely for you. Mike

WELCOME eshannon! So far half of the DIS'ers who have e-mailed me their info are going without kids.I think you will have a blast!
As far as the rooms go, most cat 10 to cat 6 (I think) are the same # of square feet. The only difference is no window, window, and verahda. A cat 7 is a Navagators veranda, still a veranda and cheaper then a cat 6.I do not think any of the windows open, so if fresh air is what you want, the least expensive would be a cat 7.
Hard to belive the kids do not want to go again! My kids want to live on the ship! However we did live in Fl for several years and did WDW many times.

Cathy, also still not able to open the logo.

I have started doing research on Cozumel. Lots of interesting things to do. Possible Horseback riding and maybe Playa Sol.

Papa...just teasing about your posting!LOL

Patty, my twin and I did go to college together but not for nursing. We both went back to school for nursing after marriage and kids. I went first, then she did a year later. We worked together at the same OB/Gyn practice for 4 years (before I moved to SC) We kept the patients very confused! Some did not realize there were two of us!LOL

Mary just a what if question. What if we get diverted and we have booked with capt marvin. Will we get our deposit back?

Eshannon welcome again and I hope that you send your information to relling twin as it helps everyone to break the ice and you feel like you are sailing with family. Mike

GoofyNut....was that show unbelievable or what. Can you believe those two photographers were in that place at that time filming what they filmed? It was staggering.

I pretty much audibly sobbed from the first moment De Niro started talking.

And I thought Nextel was so great for not airing real commericals during the entire thing. Of course, it left no room for potty breaks. I had to speed-tinkle while Steve Buscemi was talking. But it was worth it.

Really unbelievable. My eyes were practically swollen shut this morning. But worth it.

Everyone have a great day!

GBG!!! GBG!!! GBG!!! GBG!!! GBG!!! GBG!!! GBG!!!

How the heck are you???????

So glad I could make you blow coffee!!!!!!!

Papa - Will leave my mukluks & bunny boots behind for sure although it is still a bit early (9/28) to be dressing that warm.
U want mosquitoes? Need to go fish the Alagnak or Tikchik w/me.
However, would rather Grizzlies to Sand Fleas ...

Rellingtwin - Did u get my message? More than u wanted to Know? - I can get a bit verbose at times - Reclusive too!!!

eshannon - This will be Alabama (Chrystina) and I's third cruise. We have no kids and have never been bothered and/or failed to enjoy ourselves. The nice thing about the kids on board is you can send them back to their parents when you get tired of playing with them. :D No really ... Loads of fun

Rellingtwin or Goofynut - Can you send me that Logo? I'd like to have Chrystina take a look at it. Do you know how many stitches/inch it takes?

peagreenid - LOVE the Carib !!!!

HH&GB to all

Curious? Not sure if I have submitted photo for posting correctly but have sent in power_alaska pic .... as soon as I can find one of power_alabama that she will permit me to post, it will be there.

Mike, Mary & Alaska .... I'm really getting frustrated with this Logo thing. I had worked it all out on my Disney Sierra Print program. For some screwy reason I can E-Mail it to myself and open it no problem. I'll be darned if I can figure out why it won't go to or open for you guys. I think that I'll wait and try again tomorrow cause right now my nerves are shot. Had a reallllllllllllly bad day at work ... too stressed out right now.

I was able to get a price for the iron-on sheets @ Wal-Mart. I think they are by Avery and are $9.95 for 6 sheets (8 1/2 x 11).
If we stick to just the logo on the front of a shirt, you can get two out of one sheet. Not sure what everyone else thinks but I have done other stuff this way and they come out really well on T-shirt material. All it takes is your t-shirt and a regular household iron.
Everyone could make their own...on a shirt they know fits...have them to wear to the terminal when getting on the ship, etc.

Cathy don't stress out over it girl. Prop your feet up and get Art to give you a foot massage. Cruise planning shouldn't be that stressful. Loved the twin blue lights at wtc site tonight.

If you want me too I will go over to the nashville rrb office and get the little old lady there to toddle on up and give you a hand.

Power since you have been to Alabama, we don't have to say anything about the chiggers. Grizzlies are rough and tough, but chiggars will drive you crazy:D

Cathy it could be that we are running windows xp that is the cause of the problem. Chill girl:bounce:

GoofyNut:

Is the Logo - Goofy in the Inner Tube? If so, I got it. If not, where do I find the right file? I agree with papa, don't let it get to you ... it's only technology. Also, Group name is ????

Anybody like "DisneyDenizens"? Would allow folks to find pictures of their favorite character(s) swimming, sailing, and/or such simliar things? That's just an idea. Chrystina will want to know these things before she starts about embroidering my sweatshirt. She really likes to do such things .... Of course I haven't told her my sweatshirt yet. Maybe I will call her from the Alaska bush. May be safer for me that way .....

Papa - You are NOT kidding about chiggers!!! I would much rather deal with the Grizzlies than chiggers or fire ants. NICE thing about Alaska is the absence of impolite insects - mostly.

Power...got the note! Thanks. Sorry for being nosey. Alaska always facinates me. I had a job there working as a bookkeeper in a cannary for 3 months with a friend of mine and had to back out when I discovered my daughter was on her way! No regrets, just always love to hear stories of Alaska. My friend did go and has some great adventure stoies to tell!

Cathy...relax, we have plenty of time to get the logo.Send it when you can get it worked out.

Papa, if we can not dock for any reason, no charge for the snorkel trip. I have heard this from many people, so I am going to take a chance. I got my confirmation via e-mail today!

Rellingtwin - No problem ... Love Alaska except maybe at temps below -25 ... then I can hear Hawaii calling ALOHA>>>>>>>

Easiest way to get from Orlando International to Radisson???

State Route 528 The Beeline Express Parkway!!! (Toll Road). Glad that we don't have them in Tennessee. Need my change for other things. Mike

Alaska - the swimming Goofy is just my little clip-art that I like to use on the boards.

I had read previously that Disney is really sticklers about using any of their designs on shirt and then selling them....as we had last year on the Cruisetoberfest. There was a company that most of the DIS FAMILY used to order our shirts, etc via internet. They would not use any Disney designs because of the copyright clause. I was thinking if we could do our own shirts via iron-on transfers it would be easier on all of us and there would not be any sales involved.

My idea incorporated the name "DIS Cruisears" with the "a" being replaced by a Mickey head. I waz trying for a design that everyone would actually wear ... not too girly or kiddish, for the men in our lives! Under the name was "Western Cruise 9-28-02"
On the back sides ... that is if we want something on the back:
"Happiness is cruising with my DIS Friends!" Hard part is that it can't be too big for little kids shirts either. But I guess we could all either enlarge or shrink as the need be.

Let me know (gently) what you guys think.

If nothing else, we may want to think of what color shirts we want so that we can get them for "printing" later. Early spring is usually when the stores have a good supply in most sizes.

Last year we had white t-shirts. I was thinking that we may want something like a light blue ... that way they would have them in men, women and kids sizes. Also blue for the georgous color of the water we will be sailing in!

I'm having a little better day today .... I've gotten the list down to just a few people I want to strangle!

Oh, by the way Alaska, you may want to get a CAR to get from the airport to the Raddison cause otherwise it's a long walk! Just kidding!!! When it gets closer to the cruise, you may want to see if anyone else in our group is flying in at the same time and renting a car (for drop off at the Raddison) cause then you could get together on a bigger car or van and split the cost.

Well wasn't I just awfully wordddddddy today. I'll check back later, but only briefly.

Hey Cathy and group,
Sounds like a good design for the shirts. Saw Dan and Scott on earlier. Have to take Kathy to the eye doctor this afternoon. She will look like Stevie Wonder when she gets out:D

Cathy, I think the shirt idea is GREAT! It sounds really cute. I was the one who tried to get permission from DIsney to get use the "Ears" in our T-shirts. But the same dosn't apply when making a shirt for you own personal use.As you said, this way we stay "legal" but still have matching shirts!

Did I hear Dan & Scott were lurking this afternoon? What's the chances we can get them on this cruise too! Speaking of the "old gang" .... anyone hear from JNoel or Cheese Please? I know Cheese and his Mrs are going to be celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversary .... it would be great if they would change and go on our cruise .... cause then with Mike & Kathy 's 30th, our 30th and Dave & Ellen's 25 .... that would make for 85 years of marriage. Would that be a cake and a half!!!!!

Hey Mike ... be nice to kathy or she'll get her seeing-eye-dog after you ........ Just kidding Kathy. Hope you made out OK. I'm as blind as a bat without my glasses. That's one of my biggest fears when looking over the side of the ship .... losing my glasses. I always bring my spare pair just in case.

Well check back later ... dishes are calling me in the sink.

PS ... thinking of doing up another Hidden Mickey list for a scavenger hunt on the MAGIC.

GoofyNut: Thought the "swimming Goofy" was a signature logo but wasn't sure. Understand about Disney concerns with respect to copyrights etc. Can you send design logo?

DIS Cruisears will work for me - I had just lost track of the name thru the thread. You guys are more experienced at this so I can easily concede to group preference to achieve consensus.
Part of the WOLF Credo is to "cooperate with the pack"

However, I can see that next time I ask a question, I will need to be a bit more specific or deal with wisenheimer answers - Was kind of interested in the best way to get from Orlando > Radisson without rental car or walking!!! Thank you Papa. Anyhow, I will do as suggested and wait & see. Currently have no idea where I will be in the month preceding cruise so need to NOT plan so much ....... you guys are just getting me excited about it.

Meanwhile, I have other things to tend to ........ CAMAI
