This is not a commercial--I promise--but I thought I'd tell the pin traders that the Disney Stores are having a promotion where guests can receive a free pin (your choice) with any purchase of a plush character. The only exception is that it does not apply to the mini bean bag characters. So, if anyone needs a gift for now or later, it's a nice way to get a free pin.
I only worked a five-hour shift yesterday, but explaining all the promotions the store has going on almost made me lose my voice. Besides the pin deal--again, not a commercial, but I thought some of you might be interested--guests can get a free children's watch with a $30 purchase. Also, if a $50 purchase includes a pre-order of Monsters, Inc., in addition to the free lithographs and watch, the guest also gets a $10 gift card. What a mouthful! If you think explaining it is hard, then I get to do all sorts of paperwork at the cash register. Luckily for me (and my voice), I'm off today.
It would be really, really nice to see my Fed Ex girl today. No offense to feminists, but she looks about 18.
Hey, Elaine--isn't there some rule that kids cannot be sick on the first day of school? I still remember the last year I taught. Our high school had this bright idea that perfect attendance would be rewarded with no final exams, so the kids could actually miss the exams given at the end of the semester. I used up all my sick days because I was teaching classes of kids who should have been home in bed, at the doctor, or in the hospital. Hmmmm, wonder if they still do that back in Omaha.
Well--hope everyone has a good day. I was up early with Riker and I'm heading back to bed for a bit. Ed is in England AGAIN. Shorter trip this time--ten days.
