Good morning Member Cruisers
We sail in 24 weeks!

If you get the travel channel the Disney Cruise line show will be starting in just a few minutes (10 AM Eastern, 9 AM Central). It is a repeat but a great way to get excited about the cruise.

Good Morning All! 24 weeks is sounding good. We are looking seriously at flying down now, so I need to get all the car rental - port drop-off - transfer to airport information again please. We would fly down the day before and rent a car to get to Disney and the port, so we can get there early. I believe it was Alamo and Hertz that were mentioned as places where we could drop the car near port and get a shuttle. Is that correct? Then when we return to port, is it the cruise line that offers the transfer to the airport? Is it cheaper to rent a car for those few hours and drive ourselves? How early a return flight do you suggest?

Mandy,

I wondered just this morning how things were going with you. I hadn't see you post in a while.

Amanda and I love the Rainforest Room on the ship. I haven't tried a massage but I might this year. I have heard wonderful things about the treatments.

Are you still doing the Minnie?

Annette :)

Yep I am still doing the Minnie, I have been training in my spare time away from school and homework. Only 3 weeks left :woohoo:

I am doing the 15K on Sunday and I talked hubby into doing the 5K on Saturday :)

But what is Sandy Point or Abaco, anyone know?

Gotta love Wikipedia. Evidentally, Castaway Cay is part of the Abaco Islands...

The Abaco Islands lie in the northern Bahamas and comprise the main islands of Great Abaco and Little Abaco, together with the smaller Wood Cay, Elbow Cay, Lubbers Quarters Cay, Green Turtle Cay, Great Guana Cay, Gorda Cay, (Castaway Cay), Man-o-War Cay, Stranger's Cay, Umbrella Cay, Great Stirrup Cay, Walker's Cay, Moore's Island and Sandy Point.

Hi all,

Not much went on here this week end except rain..............The sun came out as it was setting. I spent hours on the internet trying to find decent fares for my trip cross country and hooking it up with my mothers trip so she can fly back with me. I have no patience for this computer stuff.

As for Msshhp- we did it last year a lot of fun. We will probably do it again with a little more planning so the kids can dress up. The 26th is the only day we can do it so sign us up!!! I hope it's a day DVC offers a discount but I doubt it since it's a friday!

We did the MNSSHP last year(and several times before that). I loved it!!!!! I think it was better than the Christmas party. I was Underdog and Amanda was a cat. There are a lot of characters that you don't normally see. The parade and the Hallowishes fireworks are well worth the ticket price. We aren't doing it this year cuz we will have DMom and DDad with us then. We have plans to eat at the Coral Reef that night.

Good morning everyone - happy Monday!

We've done MNSSHP a couple of times. If you can pick a weeknight instead of a weekend I suggest it. We've found the weekend nights to be much more crowded due to lots of locals going then. The parade and fireworks are great!

We had Carol's family over the night before for a party. It was a nice small one. We enjoyed pizza for dinner and Angel food cake and boston cream pie for birthday cake. Went out today and bought Carol a new patio set for my birthday. :lmao: Somehow, I still don't believe that's how it's supposed to work, but Carol insists it is. ;)

Hey Carol - can you talk to my DH. His Birthday is in July and I could use some new things too. :) :) :)

Happy Belated Birthday to John, Cheryl and Stephen. I wish I had an excuse for missing it, but I just am not good at these things. Sorry. Hope it was great.

We made it back from our hockey weekend. The weather in Mass,NH was rainey all weekend. Typical Spring wet and damp.
The boys didn't do to well. We knew going in the teams in Mass and NH are much better. Its just the different way its coached here in Maine. Its just a different philosophy not good if a kid want to advance. Its heard to explain.
Other than that we had a good time being with the kids.Of course our grandson loves us being there
Nancy and I got a chance to meet up with her College room mate and her husband from U Mass. We had Friday lunch with them and we did some shopping in the Mall in Salem NH.
The only thing I bought was for the computor. At present im running 256MGs its gettin slow so I bought 1GIG of ram.My daughter inlaw is going to install it for me she is a System Admin for LL Bean. She tells me I will get a speeding ticket HA HA.
Well enought of that I hope everybody else had a great weekend.
Joan I hope the weather inproves in the sunshine state.
I hope the Sox improve when they get home.
Mary I watched the Cruise show yesterday. I wish we were going today. We can't wait.
Everybody have a great day
danandnan

thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. now I need to get rid of the leftover cake and the rest of my bread by the 17th.

Disney Catering finally called back.

The Attic at boardwalk is a $2,500 food/beverage minimum.
Ariels at Boardwalk is a $1,000 food/beverage minimum.

Both only do buffet which runs around $80 per person. I say no go on this one.

Now the Illuminations Dessert Buffet looks like an option.

It will run around $30 per person depending on the menu. For those who don't want to pay for park admission, for $12.50 more, they will bring you into the International Gateway gate at the time of the buffet and take you to the party with no park admission required.

So what about Dinner at Cape May and an Illumination Desert Buffet. People can choose to do one or both.

Of course, this is based on availability at 90 days out. Apparently in Convention season, they want to allow the conventions first dibs on making these reservations.

:scared1: to the pricing for both the Attic and Ariels! I agree with the no go there.

We'd be up for the Dessert buffet. Did it with a DIS group back a couple of years ago and it was fun. How many would you need to make it happen?

Just not sure how many would want both the buffet at Cape May (which includes desserts) and then the dessert buffet. I'll be in cruise mode by then so I think it is all good.

Is this for the night before the cruise? I thought this was an International Dinner and Dessert thing, one of those Grand Gatherings.

We could not do the grand gathering dinner and dessert-
this was due to the food and wine festival.
(They use the odessey for food prep for the chef demonstrations )

TnRobin, did register us as a grand gathering but as you see the disney catering prices are a little pricey.

Currently we have a group table set for Cape May that night and now we are talking about the possibity of adding illuminations dessert.

Hope this helps fill you in.

Do you know what time the dessert buffet would be? I really don't think I could eat both. So we will go with what ever this group decides.

Not much went on here today the sun was out- figures after this rainy weekend.

For all of you staying before the cruise I just saw a post on free dining.

Happy monday all- we are watching the final four- so far a good game!-
