Good morning everyone! Happy Thursday!

Today is our last day of Secret Santa and also our pot luck at work. I found the perfect gift for this last day. Last year the president had me and on the first day gave me duct tape. No one could figure out who I had or why they would give that to me, but if you knew him you'd know how quirky he can be. So this year as his last gift I got him the big book of things to do with duct tape.

That's a good one!

How is everyone doing for Christmas? I only have 2 more gifts to buy and I will probably do that tomorrow, just a couple of gift cards so not to bad. My kids last day of school is tomorrow and then I am stuck with them for 2 weeks!! AAACK! I am hoping to get some scrapbooking done over the 2 week break as well as some other chores before I head back to school. I really need to catch up!

Oh, what is up with the travel insurance??? It seems sooo expensive for the 08 cruise as opposed to the one this year. For the 07 cruise I paid $86 for trip insurance, I have done some prelim quotes and the cheapest I can find is $242!! I am thinking that it has to be because of the cruise being in September and more likely to have a hurricane.

I also missed the Pre-Existing Condition waiver because I didn't buy it within 15 days so that sucks. And their jargon is sketchy in the description. My husband is diabetic, so lets say on the ship he suffers from something due to his diabetes, does that mean any expenses as a result will NOT be covered? I am usually on top of this so I don't know where my mind was in this department.

I went through insuremytrip.com for quotes, anyone have any other recommendations?

I just added insurance for pre-existing to one of my cruises I just booked this week and if I paid for it when I booked, pre-existing is covered.

If not paid at the time of booking, pre-existing is not covered.

They consider pre-existing anything that you have seen the doctor for or taken medication for within six months.

That's what i was told.

Good morning everyone. TGIF!

Had fun at the holiday pot luck yesterday. Got some really nice things from my secret santa. Turns out it was a good friend of mine. She's really talented so on the last day I got a number of home made things like a cute little round box all decorated and with my initial on it. Nice!

The president got a kick out of his gifts. Plus he ended up picking the gift I had brought for the gift exchange. It is a digital keychain that can hold up to 50 pictures. It was his 4th choice however. We play a gift exchange we you select gifts in the order of numbers you pull and he was #2. Someone who selects after you can steal your gift from you. You can then steal too you just can't steal back your original gift. It was fun. Dave (our president) got stolen from a lot. I ended up with a movie pack gift of 2 bottled waters, a box of dots and two movie tickets. There were lots of fun gifts this year.

Today is a half day for me and then off to the dentist as I cracked a tooth. Not so fun. I thought I had just lost a filling but now I'm feeling it move around. Yuck. Well at least I'm then off for the next 4 days so that should be good.

I have some catch-up work to do on the web page and hope to get to it this weekend. If you have sent something in and haven't seen it up yet my apologies. Hope to get that corrected soon.

yes, Mary, that type of exchange is so so so much fun. we do it in our family each year when we all get together. You end up laughing the whole time.

funny you mentioned the dentist. my dentist here in Ft. Laud. is my idol. He has been my dentist since I was 20 yo. Have been thinking of him lately and called his house last night just to say happy holidays and tell him and his wife that I have been thinking of the two of them. He just came home from the hospital with hip replacementss (both hips). I do that so many times with friends/family. I have always been that way and it has always scared me an the way that I think. I get these crazy feelings that something is wrong somewhere. More than not it turns out that it was a good idea that I either did something or made the phone call.

Very nice to hear that some of you are off next week. I know Linda's office is closed also. I am trying to get her to Ft. Lauderdale to drive up to WDW and go to the Merry Mixer meet for DVC. If she doesn't fly in, I think I am driving my for it.

Ouch on the dentist thing. I hope he gets everything fixed. Going through Christmas with pain does not sound Merry.

We land the 28th at 9am...Will be arriving at AKV around 11am, then heading somewhere...Not exactly sure...I know the kiddos will be hungry at this point, but otherwise we have no definite plans!!! We will there 12-28/1-5

Mary...Ouch cracked tooth...I've seen alot of this lately here at work...It seems like the closer we get to the holidays, the more people want to see us at the Dentist office J/K...It must be a combination of cold weather, eating something hard, or just biting down wrong, I have an emergency on his way in as I type because he bent and cracked his front crown and post. Good Luck, and I hope its a simple fix that will work for a while for you!!!

Back from the dentist.

The bad news - yes the tooth was cracked and actually broke off as he looked it at. So that means a crown. Yikes - $$$$

The good news - he says the nerve looks fine and I won't need a root canal.

So I've got a temporary crown on and will go back after the 1st of the year.

Good morning everyone! Thanks for the well wishes on the tooth. I do have a temporary crown on it and there was some discomfort last night but an advil pm helped do the trick and gave me a good nights sleep. Not feeling it as much this morning so I think I'll be fine over the holidays.

good morning and happy weekend everyone. Last two major days for shopping - does Monday count?? For those who have to work 1/2 a day Monday, guess it counts 1/2 way.

Yesterday was a good day for me !!!!! I had a feeling that I had to quit working and do something for myself.

I just stopped what I was doing at the hospital and went to the 10:30 am showing of the new movie with Nicholas Cage, National Treasure, the secret book.

If you liked the first one, this one is awesome. It is strange how I just stopped what I was doing and said - I'm going to the movie. Especially since I have not been in years and years, and secondly going alone !!!

Guess it was meant to be....................

I had to excuse myself in the middle of the movie and go to the RR and low and behold as I was there, I looked down at the floor and there was a $100 bill on the floor. No one was in there w/me and hardly no one was in the movie theatre. Probably about 30 people only. IT is a multiplex and there was a movie playing in each section. Lord knows whose it was. So guess where it went !!!!!!! yep, you're right - in my pocket. So I made $95 yesterday morning on a whim. That was my excitement for the week.

Well Mary welcome to the club in the last five years between Nancy and I we have had 6 crowns me 4 she 2. Its a lot better than having false teeth. Our dentist charges $1,300 for a crown. Thats for the temp crown and the permanent one.

It finally stopped snowing. We have about 2 feet on the ground and this morning it,s 15 degrees.
As far as posting Kay I posted 2 or three times last week nobody responded.
