i guess that is good news for those of us bringing kids!!!

im assuming that the oceaneers club on deck 5 wont be as crowded on the member cruise. I think that will make it easier for the kids to do things. Also on the member cruise the line up for the duck wasnt as long. Laura and i went on it first thing in the morning before we went to cc just after breakfast. We went on it about 10 times in just a about a half hour. We kept going around and around. It felt so refreshing, the air temp was over 90 degrees

I THINK EVERY CRUISE IS DIFFERENT, BUT, IM GUESSING THAT ON THE SECOND STAY AT CC MANY HANG AROUND FOR THE GROUP SHOT THEN STAY AT FAMILY BEACH. MAYBE THAT MIGHT BE WHY. WE USUAL MAKE A BEE LINE STRAIGHT TO SERENITY BAY TO GET OUR CHAIRS WITH UMBRELLAS SO WE ARE CLOSE TO THE BAR AND BBQ AREAS. THEN LATER HEAD TO FAMILY BEACH TO FIND OUR FRIENDS WHO HAVE THEIR FLOATING BEER BARGE AT FAMILY BEACH ITS A BLOW UP POOL FLOATING COOLER, THIS YEAR THEY ADDED A PALM TREE. THERE IS USUALLY AROUND 10 TO 20 HANGING AROUND MAYBE YOU SAW IT?BY THE WAY 2011 DIDNT HAVE THE GROUP SHOT. I WILL POST SOME PHOTOS OF THIS YEAR AND 2010 CRUISE. MAYBE YOU WILL RECOGNIZE US.

FIRST PHOTO IS FROM THE WONDER, WE ALWAYS STAND INFRONT OF REAR STACK TO WATCH SAILAWAY. WE DID THE SAME 2011 ON THE DREAM.

On the first day we struggled to get chairs it was crowded but on the second we also found chairs near the bar and BBQ. Our paths probably did cross. Looking forward to more pictures of member cruises.

THESE 2 PHOTOS ARE FROM 2010. THE ONE IS SERENITY BAY BEACH. I WAS OUT AT OUR USUAL SPOT SO I TOOK A SHOT OF THE BEACH FROM OUT BY THE SUNKEN BOAT MOTOR. THE OTHER IS SAILAWAY. LAURA AND I ALWAYS STAND INFRONT OF THE REAR STACK TO GET A GOOD LOOK AT THE SAILAWAY PARTY. WE DID THE SAME ON THE DREAM.

Wish I could zoom in on serenity bay. I know that one of those beach chairs in the water is DW and I were sipping on a cold one. Forgot the name of the drink it was some type of cooler. I know for the sail away we were on the upper deck also.

Hi All.... just booked my husband and I to join you all on this adventure! 3rd Disney Cruise, first ever Member Cruise. AND first time on the Dream. Kids DD 16, DS 8, and DS 7 will be in school, and the timing is not right, so this will be our first trip as a couple since we've been married! I know it's horrible, but I feel so guilty leaving the kids behind...... Maybe when I do it this time, I'll feel better about it next time since DH says we need to start spending time alone....
In reading through, seems like there will be less kids so I'm already thinking about adding the boys in.....just need to figure out a way to break it to my DH. Besides.... we never see them once we're on board anyways... we needed a magnet to pry them out of Oceaneer's Lab for dinner last time!
We'll see, but for now, it's just us. Looking forward to it....

Are we all going to start an FE? I love those!

i will look for more photos. The 2 of the beach from the water are from 2010 and we sat basically in the same spot both years. The one with aroka was 2011. He really liked dudley. He gave us a free konk kooler each. I gave him dudley on the last night. On 2010 cruise i brought another dudley in a chair and took some photos of him at beach, same spot. I have photo of him infront of cabana on a post.[/color][/size][/b]

HI CYNDI, WELCOME TO THE GROUP, ITS STILL VERY SMALL BUT THERE IS LOTS OF TIME FOR IT TO GROW. WE HAVE DONE AN FE on OUR LAST 3 DISNEY CRUISES, THEY ARE GREAT FUN. I RAN THE LAST ONE IN DEC. WE HAD ABOUT 40 IN THE FE GROUP. THE MEMBER CRUISE IN 2010 WE HAD ABOUT 60. THE MEMBER CRUISE IN 2011 WE HAD ABOUT 150. YOUR RIGHT THE AVERAGE MEMBER CRUISE HAS LESS KIDS. I THINK IN 2011 WE HAD AROUND 250. ON OUR REGULAR DREAM CRUISE IN DEC WE HAD CLOSE TO 1500 KIDS.

I CANT REMEMBER IF I MENTIONED OUR NAMES ON THE THREAD YET. IM IAN, MY DW IS LAURA.

THIS IS WHAT A FE IS. APPARENTLY ITS ONLY DONE ON DISNEY SHIPS. I WILL USE OUR LAST CRUISE AS AN EXAMPLE. WE HAD A THREAD CALLED DVC MEMBER CRUISE 2011. WITHIN THAT THREAD SOMEBODY DECIDES TO RUN AN FE. EVERYONE ELSE ON THAT THREAD(CRUISE) WHO WANTS TO GET INVOLVED GIVES THAT PERSON THEIR CABIN NUMBER AND ALL WHO ARE IN IT. FOR EXAMPLE OUR CABIN ON THAT CRUISE WAS 8532 I THINK, SO I SEND CABIN NUMBER 8532

IF YOU HAVE KIDS YOU WOULD PUT THEIR NAME WITH EITHER (DD) OR (DS) AFTER AND IF THEY ARE UNDER 18 YOU WOULD GIVE THE AGES. ITS LIKE CHRISTMAS FILLING A STOCKING. ONCE YOU REACH THE FINAL DAY TO JOIN IN USUALLY A MONTH BEFORE THE CRUISE, TO GIVE PEOPLE TIME TO MAKE OR GET SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE ON THE LIST. IT USUALLY IS SOMETHING A DOLLAR OR A COUPLE DOLLARS IT ALL DEPEND ON THE GIVER. SOME PEOPLE GIVE STICKERS AND CANDY OR MAKE SOMETHING OR BRING SOMETHING FROM WHERE YOUR FROM. THEN ON THE SHIP YOU HANG YOUR FE WHICH STANDS FOR FISH EXTENDER. SEE THE SEAHORSE THE FE IS HANGING OFF OF. THATS WHERE THE NAME COMES FROM. DURING THE CRUISE WHENEVER YOU WANT TO YOU GO TO ALL THE CABINS ON YOUR LIST WITH A SMALL GIFT FOR EACH IN THE CABIN. ITS FUN TO COME BACK TO YOUR CABIN TO SEE SOMETHING IN YOUR FISH EXTENDER POCKETS. THE KIDS REALLY ENJOY IT. SO DO THE ADULTS OUR GROUP IN DEC HAD 40 INVOLVED, THE MEMBER CRUISE HAD 150 INVOLVED, IT ALL DEPENDS ON THE PEOPLE ON THE THREAD. MANY ON THE 2011 THREAD KNEW EACH OTHER FROM PREVIOUS MEMBER CRUISES SO THE THREAD WAS VERY ACTIVE. WE STILL HAVE 7 MONTHS TO RUN AN FE. I DONT MIND RUNNING IT, I RAN THE LAST ONE FOR DEC. Ian, what happened to the Flying Dutchman? Have there been other changes and improvements to CC since 2010?
