Good Morning all,

Amanda we have late. I would love to sit with other disers. there are four of us. All adults no kids. Let me know what I need to do. Do I just send you our res #?

Have a great Monday.

I am getting so excited about our girlfriend cruise. :woohoo: I am sure we will have the best of times and just getting away from the house for a week is so awesome :cheer2:

Good morning everyone!

Candycole, DH and I were on the same cruise as you last year. We enjoyed Costa Maya and plan on seeing a bit more of it this time.

Topsiders...DH and I enjoy dining there. It seems that usually the menu is completely different than the dining rooms and sometimes it is the same. We dined there three times on our last cruise. Twice the menu was different than the dining rooms. Once it was the same. Of course the time it was the same was when we went there because we didn't like the dining room menu. We ended up with chicken strips from Pluto's.

Barb has posted allthe Navigators on her web site. www.castawayclub.comThey print out really easy. I think I like the old format better. These old eyes need larger print. After read along with that bunch this is really getting exciting. I don't want to wish my summer away because then both boys will be in college. But it'a nice to have something to look forward to except an empty house.

Good morning all! So Amanda did they have any thing special for the cruise, like a pin or shirt? I can't believe that we are so close to double digits! But right now all I can think about is the 11 days until I am done with school! Then I will be on happy camper!!!! :dance3:

They posted pictures of the T shirt & bag on the other thread. they are cute. They say twice the magic with Mickey on the beach.

Gail,
Sorry but I have been so caught up in our May cruise and I dont recall, as I am sure you said why, but remind me please, why you all dont want to eat in the dining rooms? I cant remember what you said, I seem to recall it had something to do with your DD but I am not 100% certain:sunny:

WOOOHOOOO TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a combination of things. First of all, when we are traveling I have a really hard time getting my DD to sit for five minutes to eat. I do not think there is any way that I can get her to sit for two hours. Second, even if she would, I think I would want to take too hours each day to devote to just one meal myself. We both are on the go type people. We usually are still swollowing the last bite of our last meal as we are going out the door to the next place we are supposed to be. We seldom do full meals because we just go so much. The biggest part of our food budget is spent at fast food restaurants. (And that's why I need to lose about thirty pounds by September.) Third, we have looked at old Navigators and she has highlighted all the things she doesn't want to miss. It looks like she will be in the clubs most of the day and I will not see her at all. Then during the dinner hours there are so many family activities that she wants to do. I feel that for us, spending that time participating in the activities and going to the show together, etc. is just a better use of our time. Fourth, I have been reading the trip reports alot, and the single complaint that I have seen the most is that people have felt rushed to get back or had to stop an activity that they were really enjoying to dress for dinner.

We are the same way when we go to the parks. We have eaten at very few of the table service restaurants at WDW, because that's just not how we want to spend our time at WDW. I have friends that tell me that they can not believe that we don't try the restaurants that we are missing the best part of WDW. Scheduling a bunch to table service meals doesn't interest me at all. We usually grab something and eat on the way to the next attraction or while resting our feet for fifteen or twenty minutes.

We plan to do a bit of both, but it is really tough on the kids to sit at a table in a dining room for a couple of hours. There is so much to do on the ship, and my little boys aren't really into the whole "dining experience". They just want their chicken fingers so they can go play some more.

Last year, we ate by the pool a couple of times, topsiders a couple of times, and the dining rooms. We had a fantastic time. One thing I've figured out is that Disney generally does a good job on their food. For folks like me (who enjoy food way too much), the dining rooms and Palo's are something to really try to make time for. Every day, now, that's a bit much.

Being Orlando locals, we really enjoy many of the restaurants in the theme parks. Not with children, usually, because they'd rather be eating french fries waiting in line for a ride. But, if your kids are having a blast in the oceanears club or the lab, then, go have yourself a nice dinner!

I agree that the 2 hour dining room experience wasn't designed with kids in mind. The character breakfast, now that's a different story. What a hoot!

I saw the t-shirts and bags from the first Double Dip, too cute! Gonna' buy the bag for sure! We're about 11 days from booking Palo reservations and I have no clue what a good day is....I am thinking later in the week so we don't miss the show in AP. 3 Amigo Cruise! So excited!! "Girlfriend Cruise" I love that! :thumbsup2
One of Mekayla's friend's mom and I hang out every week or so while the girls have soccer games and one day she asked me, "are you gay?" I was like "wow, where'd that come from?" She said, "you're always sayin' my girlfriend this...my girlfriend that..I was just wondering." After I stopped laughin' I told her that I'm straight and I like men, but my girl-friend moved to Washington and I miss my girl-friend. So now you'll have to accept being demoted to "my friend" to eliminate the need for clarification. :rotfl:

Meker's got her Disney Cruise Planning Kit in the mail over the weekend. Not like we've never been, but she loves getting anything from The Mouse in the mail. We Tivo'd the travel channel's episode last Thursday on DCL - the travel channel needs an updated version of DCL. It's the same show we watched while waiting for our cruise in 2004! popcorn:: Oh well. Are you still scrapbooking? You might wanna' send away for the planning kit for cute paper if nothing else. :artist:

I just finished printing all the Navigators from castawayclub.com. Now I am too excited. I will be up all night reading these things. I will also have a million questions about them.

Let's get started with this one: What dinning rotation hat character breakfast on what days? I want to make sure that we get a dinning rotation that will allow us to have our character breakfast on a day at sea.

Unf there was nothing special for this trip! I was bummed. On the last day at CC they put out tees that said twice the magic..I think most everyone here has seen the picture of them. They were okay. I got one adult (blue) and one kids (tan) but I gotta tell you I was a bit disppointed in the quality of the cotton that was used on the tee. It is very thin, and the shirts were only $14.99 which should tell you something, as usually a Disney Tee runds $18 and up. I really liked that graphic on the tee though, so I bought it. I have Disney tees around still from ym very first trip to the world back in 1997 and they are still in great condition. These Tees wont last long. It is hard to describe, but again that is my opinion..

Have you thought of doing late seating? I dont feel that the kids missed much during dinners. ANd if there were something going on that they wanted to attend, they would either join us for dinner and then leave, or skip dineer with us all together. Also, dont forgot, that on the last day or 2 of the cruise, the labs have "Make up what you missed" time.
Also not sure if you realize it or not, but most of the special family things that take place, like in studio sea for example, happen in between the 2 seating times. SO for example, on the first night, at 730pm until 8pm there is Mickey Mania in Studio Sea. And then nothing going on really, during late dinner except open house time at the clubs the next activities dont really start until 945pm....[lenty of time for late seating dining. Anywho just an idea

having just returned, I can tell you that the kids were thru with dinner within about an hour every evening. They would even stay for their Mickey bars...once they were done they would head to the room to change into more comfy clothes and head out to their respective clubs. THe only one that could not do this was my youngest, Nathan. He is only 3 but he also did very well.
