Wouldn't it be fun to do a Dis Meet at the party? If you guys are up for it, I might even be convinced to change my ressie for Friday night to one of the WDW resorts. Can you believe that I am willing to pay the cost of the party tickets and then have to pay $100.00 to park at the port just to go to this? DD is just wanted to go so much, and this vacation is her birthday present from me. Plus, the truth is that I very seldomly say "No" to her about anything. Let's do this guys. Based on the last time we went and on what everyone on these boards say, they will actually let you in at 4:00 on the party ticket. It would be great for us to all make a ADR for about 5:00 at one of the MK restaurants together and then we will be ready to go when the Halloween activities start. If anyone who has never been decides to go, the parade is not to be missed. We liked it better than any of the other parades. The Headless Horseman actually comes riding through on his horse.

We are leaving town today. Not much of a trip. We are justing traveling to Lexington, Kentucky for a weekend shopping trip. DD doesn't think she can buy school clothes anywhere else. They have a huge Halloween store that is open year round and I will be looking for a pirate costume. I am also hoping to finish our cruise shopping. Keep your fingers crossed that I will find good deals on my a dress for formal night.

Gail, That sounds like fun, but too much for us. We will be in the parks Wed & Thursday.

I weighed in last night. I am down 30lbs. I am so thrilled. Maybe I will meet my goal of 50 before Sept 16th. We are going to NY in three weeks. It will be hard to do at a family reunion but I will try.

Have a good Friday............

I wanna' go to the MNSSHP but our flight doesn't get in until 6:00pm (even though we leave Seattle at 0700 - it's gonna' be a long day) and our hotel is in Winter Park...stupid priceline :badpc: but hey we got a suite for $35.00! Anyways, I don't think I could do it and stay sane (did I just type I was sane?) The addition of our new family member "Eddie" just halted all extra spending for me... it would be a shame to not be able to make that first car note! :rotfl:

I wish I knew a while back that we would hit MNSSHP in mid September...who knew? I might have planned for that...as it is, I have to drive to Seattle from Eugene (5 hours) on the Thursday night before we leave after working an eight hour day. I am as stretched as I wanna' be for the few days before the cruise. But oh man I wanna' go to MNSSHP. I would go as a pirate: too. Get your face painted (it's included in the price) they do amazing faces...me & DD got our faces painted...it was ALMOST as good as the OCF. :joker:

We're going to Crater Lake National Park this weekend...never been - might be cool - everyone says it's awesome and being the hard core Pagan I am I was told by friends it's a not miss! One of God's better feats, I am told...we'll see.

Joannel - you go girl! I am so happy you lost 30 lbs. I wish I could be happy that I found them for you :sad2: I got 15 on one cheek and 15 on the other. I found them...I found them...

I finally make it back to the boards after a crazy week (though not as crazy as WldWcnWmn's - glad to hear you're all okay!) and now people are talking about MNSSHP and I can't even pronounce it, let alone understand it. Help!
Can someone translate for me? I don't want to find out later that I missed something that I really, really would have wanted to go to! :)

http://www.wdwinfo.com/holidays/halloween.htm

I found this site and checked it out. It looks like so much fun, I know the kids would love to be there (and so would I)! But at this point I can add anymore costs to this trip, it already gone far past my original budget! I also want to go to bed early that night so we are rested and ready for the cruise.

TOP FOR ME!!!

:hmghost: Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! :maleficen
Eric and I will have been in the parks for 6 days at that point, and at Universal with Amanda and her DH all that day. But trust me I won't be tired getting on that ship, I will be on a Disney high! :cloud9: I think a Dis meet at MNSSHP would be too cool for school! (Forgive me, my coffee just kick in!)

For anyone who has DVC the tickets for MNSSHP they are discounted 10 or 15% I can't remember how much. It worked out to be $70.20 after taxes for Eric and I.

Thea you will love Crater lake, it's soooooo beautiful! Take your camera, it's really like a postcard!

JOANNEL WAY TO GO!!!! :cheer2: Were so proud of you!

Well ladies I am leaving tonight at 11pm for Tennessee to spend a week with my mom and sister. We are actually going to spend part of the week in Charleston, SC at the beach. Can you say lazy! I can, L-A-Z-Y! But that means I won't be on line much after this sunday. Actually I won't be online much after today, they have dial-up and it's so slow it drives me insane to use their computer. I am such a computer snob! :badpc:

Amanda & Thea thanks for the kind words.

Amanda have a great time. relaxing on the beach if my kind of vacation. Have a safe trip. We will try to keep up the chatter for you.

I wanna' go to MNSSHP!

I am just kickin' rocks that I booked a flight for Friday the 15th.....son's B-Day is Thursday though, so it couldn't be helped....I wanna' go!

Ya'll wave to the Villians for me...(they all know me, I am in the club!) :wave2: Just say, "Thea says HI, wishes she were here!"

As I am typing this it's 102 outside. That is just too hot for the Northwest! I will be happy to go to the East coast! I hope everyone has a great week and be sure to keep the thread lively while I am gone. Oh and convience Amanda to go to MNSSHP! :earboy2:

Hello Everyone ... :wave2:
My name is Liz and I will be on the cruise celebrating my 4th Wedding Anniversary with my husband Todd.
We look forward to meeting any other 30ish year old party people that will be cruising with us on the 16th - 23rd.
Cheers :joker:

Thanks for the info on MNSSHP! I'll have to check with the rest of my group and see if I can convince anyone to go. :) We'll be at the parks Tuesday evening - Saturday morning, so its a possiblity. And I love the idea of getting a second wearing out of the pirate costumes!

Welcome T&E! Our first Disney Cruise was for our 5th wedding anniversary - had a blast! And now we're back for our 5th cruise, and our 13th anniversary. :thumbsup2

Gr.......eat news! My three day shopping trip turned into a one and a half days. Guess why. Because we found everything we went for and it was all on sale. I am so happy. I told DD that it must have been Disney Magic. I found a beautiful black dress, and I think it will be alright to pull double duty for formal night and for Palo. I bought two bathing suits (which reminded me that I have not been as successful as Joanne at losing weight). Then, I found several outfits for us to wear while on the cruise. I paid full price for nothing!!!!!!!!!!! All we have left is shoes for me to wear with my new dress and DD still needs at least one more bathing suit. I have even already bought the little odds and ends. Can you say "Excited"?

For those of you debating MNSSHP, we have decided to definitely go. It is all DD has talked about and I finally gave in. If there is anyone else definitely going, and if you would like to meet up for a while, please let me know. I am going to make a final decision tonight on where to stay that night. Like I said earlier, I am booked at the Radisson and am planning to leave my car parked there. Now, I may change to a Disney Resort and park at the port. Can anyone who has made the trip from WDW to the port let me know about how long it will take me to drive it?

Gail, good for you, but I am green with envy, I would have loved to take the kids!

Welcome T & E, im 30ish and I like to party, okay the truth is this year will make me closer to forty than thirty  and as for the partying...the intention is there but my body cant keep up!!!

Where in Canada are you from?

Joannel :woohoo:

Good morning all. Thanks for all the support I still have a long way to go.

I spent the day yesterday floating arround the lazy river at the water park. It was nice. My oldest was actually off yesterday, so he went to Mass, out to dinner and we played games until after midnight. It was so nice. We have some out of towners visiting and so does our neighbor. It's nice to play tourist. But waiting an hour for a table is a pain. We were a party of 15 so I guess it's our own fault, but it was fun.

But now back to the real world, second load is in the washer and grocery list is in the making.

Welcome T & E, we are a little older, so I hope you find some partying buddies, if not come find us 40 - 50 ish folks.

Have a great Sunday................

I was just reading some of the posts I have missed by being away from the boards, and read about MNSSHP being Sept 15th. We are flying in on Friday, so DH just bought tickets! This is our first one! Our DD is 8, but is a REAL scaredy-cat, and I didn't know if she could handle it (still not sure!). But she says let's go, so we're going! Now, this is the kid that won't ride Haunted Mansion, because of the scary CM's and the screaming at the beginning, and the things that jump out at you on the ride.

Someone, please tell me we didn't make a mistake.

Oh no, you didn't make a mistake. My DD was 6 when we did MNSSHP the first time and she loved it. She is getting ready to turn 9 and she still talks about it. The parade has Disney villians in it, but they are passing by on floats. Nothing scary happens. Your DD will be fine. Bring her a costume. All the kids dress up and a lot of adults do. They give you a bag and as you go around the park, the characters will give you candy.

I hope we see you there!

Thanks Gail!

I hope we have fun. We have done the Christmas party before. It was good, but I don't think I'd do it again. Do you know if they let you in to MNSSHP at 4pm with just the party tickets, like they do at the Christmas party?

By the way, we are staying at Shades of Green. In the past, we have stayed there the night before, and it took us less than an hour to get to the port. When we stayed at the Hyatt at the airport, it probably took 45 minutes.

Now, off to find DD's Halloween costume. She want to be a genie this year!

Judy we are staying at the Shades of Green also, except we are checking out Friday and goingto the residence inn. Too bad we will not be there at the same time.

Have fun.

Yes they will let you in early. We had 5:00 ADR at Crystal Palace. We did not know that they would let us in early. We had annual passes, so when we arrived at the gates, I explained that we had tickets for the party, but were entering early on our passes to eat and asked if it would be necessary for us to exit and re-enter at 7:00. She explained that we could enter at 4:00 on our party passes alone. All of the posts that I have read confirmed that they were also allowed early entry.

hi guys! I just shot Amanda01 an email and told her that I relelnt and we will join her and Eric at MNSSHP on the night of the 15th I m a sucker what can I say
