Greetings from AKV. There are three zebras grazing outside as I type this. It is so peacful standing/sitting on the balcony. Now there is a giraffe eating lunch. I have not been on the boards. I am way behind on reading the posts. But, I am glad to read that Mary is doing better. Courtney and Flo, so sorry to read about your falls. I hope the both of you are feeling better.

This is our last full day here at Disney World. My how time flies when you are having fun. I wish I had another week. But, if I spent another week here I would not be able to go on the cruise and I do not want to miss that. We are getting closer to that date so I have that to look forward to.

I met Joanne (Boosgram) and her DH briefly as we were headed to the bus stop. It was good to see them. She spotted Corey first as he is not hard to spot since he is 6'5. It was good seeing them. We chatted briefly and I introduced her to the family. I was hoping to run into them again.

Talk to you later.

Oh, how lucky you are to have been there. Enjoy your last full day at Disney and be sure to let us know how much fun you had when you return!!!!!! :flower3:

Hi all, sorry I have been MIA so long. Have had numerous things going on.

Our daughter, Jamie, will be at the National Drill Team Championships in Orlando the first weekend in March, so I will be in Florida from about March 4-9. If anyone is going to be around let me know and maybe we could get together for a meet!

Ooooh, what fun would that be. Good luck to her. :cheer2:

My youngest daughter got the game Wii Cheer for Christmas and it is such fun. I think her game is kinda like the drill team stuff. Dancing and shaking pom poms and stuff. We have a good time with it.

I just looked at the radar for are area and it looks like the sone is on its way.:sad2: I was hoping it may take a turn but I guess not. But they are saying less then an inch on the ground. We will see.

Have a good evening evryone.

Dave,

I think you will love it. In 2004 we did a 3dayWFW/4 day Cruise and we stayed at AKL. I would get up make the coffee in the room, then take a cup out on the balcony and watch the animals. It was great. I am an early riser.

Being the from Christmas till New Years is great.

I hope we do!! We have never been down at the holidays, but had a chance to book it and did. I think it will be weird waking up on Christmas Day at Disney, but the kids are very excited. I wonder if there are special places to have a Christmas dinner or if I should plan on cooking in the room? I will find the right thread and ask those questions as we get closer, but for now we have this cruise and a trip for the kids this summer to AKV for a week. I am probably like you, I am out of bed no later than 5am everyday. I think watching the animals as the sun rises will be incredible.

Dave,

We were supposed to go down see the World for the holidays this year to. My DS birthday is December 11th so we were going to go down for that. But he is not sure if he will have enough vacation time. He has two out of town wedding. They are two weeks apart and he is standing up to one.

Oh well maybe next year.

take care

Good morning everyone - happy Valentine's Day!

Linda - good to see you! Sorry to hear you had to have surgery as well but it sounds like it really helped so that is great.

We love WDW (and Disneyland) at holiday time. The decorations are awesome and so are the shows. We've only been there once between Christmas and New Years. That was back in 2004 after our 10 day cruise. The parks were packed solid!

I have been up since 4:00AM!:scared1: This is going to be a long day.:)

What is everyone doing for Valentine’s Day?

I will be waking my DS up in a little while to leave for Milwaukee. This will be all day. We are going to his old school to see presentations. What this is they kids had to design building (Nursing Home, Zoos, Etc.) and they had to build them and show how they would be cost efficient. My DS did this last year and it is quite interesting.

Take care,

Flo

I can now book a non home resort with DVC porints? It has to be 7 months or less right?

We're back and what a beautiful week we had. We were sooooo lucky. Thanks for all the good wishes on our trip; they must have worked!

It was great meeting Marsha, Corey, cutie Charles and their lovely family. I had to laugh at Marsha's comment about Corey being hard to miss at 6'5" since my DH is 6'4". Although truthfully, there are a LOT of tall men in her family (at 5'2", I felt like I was standing in a hole :rotfl: ). It was pretty funny; I recognized Corey right away and said something like "you must be Corey." He looked at me like "why is this strange woman talking to me??", but Marsha understood immediately. It was terrific getting to meet her and everyone. I'm only sorry we didn't bump into them again. I just hope they have a safe trip home.

I hope Linda, Flo, and all those who haven't been feeling well are now improving. Mary, it was good to see you back on the boards, and DH and I pray that your treatments will put an end to your problem :flower3: .

Dave, the animals are usually up and active earlier in the day. DH got up before me every day and would go out on the veranda and take pictures of the animals. We had greater kudu, zebras, giraffes, crested cranes, and other animals out in our savanna. It was great watching them while drinking our coffee (which we bring from home, btw; can't drink that coffee Disney serves, blech!). We also are trying to return in early December to see the holiday decorations. We were very surprised how busy it was this week. We haven't waited so long for rides in years, but we enjoyed ourselves anyway.

Flo, I hope your day goes well. Have fun!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Yep - the 7 month mark is when you can book something other than your home resort. Where are you looking at booking?

Welcome back Joanne! Do you have any pictures from your trip you can share with us? I always love hearing about others trips.

Change in plans! Looks like we are not going to Milwaukee. DS must really feel sick he got up and is going back to bed. Oh Well.

If he feels better when he gets up again, he said we will go. We would just miss a few.

I am sad but he needs to get well to.
