Annmarie,

Hope you got some sleep last night!;) I got at least 4 hours of sleep. I shut my computer down and watched TV in bed for a couple hours before I finally went to sleep.

I have to check and see if I could put facebook on my I touch. Then if you are up we could still talke.

Have a good day!

Mary- Good Luck today, hope evrything turns out fine.

Kelly-Very nice pictures of your children, it must make you very proud as a parent!!

Susan- Good Luck with your continued recovery, and what a great outlook you and your daughter have towards her past injuries.

Have a Great Day everyone.

Hey all. I'm still alive. As you can see by my tickers, I'm in the final stages of renting a house and packing up to move to my dream home. Lots of stuff going on!
I've been lurking and have laughed with some of you and cried with some of you and prayed for many. Wish I had more time to play, but life is getting in the way. Don't you hate when that happens? Been able to keep my Facebook page alive because I only have to write one line at a time. :) My blog....well, that's suffering. Homeschooling.....luckily the kids can do most of it independently.

Ok, gotta run. Coffee is done and the POD guy could be here any minute.

I am drinking my coffee as I write this.

Good morning everyone!

So Sad! :sad2: You guys were good!

How do you even become a Mod on the boards. I have been woundering since I joined. Just curious. Hope I am not breaking any rules by asking.

Have a good day! That is after your test.

flo
:surfweb:

Which totally is NOT right. Someone(s) got crap for brains because you guys are THE most helpful people on the DIS!

When did you two stop being Mods?? I didn't even notice the change in your avatar:confused3

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I wasn't even going to say anything but had to when Annmarie mentioned it.

I can't answer the why...only the boards admin can do that. Guess they just had a restructuring and in real life terms we were layed off. :confused3

Bottom line it doesn't change who we are as people. We never thought of ourselves as being different just because we had a blue moderator tag under our name. We were posters, and cruisers, and planners of meets before and we'll continue to be after.

Flo - to answer your question on how someone becomes a moderator. When admin sees a need they ask the current staff for recommendations then the webmasters review and an invitation is sent.

I don't think any of this needs to be discussed further here. This thread is all about having fun and planning for our cruise. I suggest if anyone has any further questions they address them to admin. admin@wdwinfo.com

Thanks!

Mary - I'll spare the details til tomorrow when you can let us know how it all worked out (literally):lmao: I had one in November and have another one scheduled for later this year. Since I have Crohn's I need to have this procedure once a year. Good luck and pixiedust:

Wow Susan! What an honor that must've been for your daughter! That's amazing. pixiedust: and hoping you will be walking and at 100% by the time the cruise comes along. Are you doing any form of physical therapy or are you still on pain meds? I hurt my back in June 2007 and had major surgery in June 2008. In October we did a 4-night on the Wonder and I was in a wheelchair. This year, I am determined to be cane-free by this summer! I'm sure you will be fine too.

It is nice to meet everyone and I am looking forward to catching up with people I've met on prior cruises as well as getting to know all of you. I got to know Mary (and Mark) from the DVC board and before I knew it, we were cruising with them on a member cruise! This is a great place to get to know people with similar intersts before the cruise. Many of us are also on Facebook too. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a link but I'm sure Mary will let me know. That's just another way to get to know people.

Well, it's 11:45pm and it looks like it's going to be another one of those nights! If I can't sleep I'll be posting again. It seems like Flo and I keep the same hours. :hourglass I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not but true just the same.

Annmarie

Flo & Annmarie - sorry to hear you both are having trouble sleeping. I know how that is some times. I've been known to log on at 2 am when I can't get back to sleep. I don't post much at that time but I'm on.

Susan & Annmarie - we need to get you guys better so you can truly enjoy the cruise. You'll notice the PDFG in my signature and also when I have a post at the top of the page. Well that stands for Pixie Dust For Garry. Garry is someone we (and Karen - ohiominnie) cruised with back in 2004. He's a sweet guy and is going through some tough medical times. He was supposed to cruise with us again in 2006 but wasn't able to due to needing a liver transplant. So on the 2006 cruise thread we started PDFG so that every time one of us got the TOP (top of page) post we'd be wishing extra pixie dust for Garry to move up the transplant list. As other friends have needed some over the years I've added "and all our friends who need it" after. Know that you and everyone else here who needs pixie dust and prayers to get better are included in that! :grouphug:

To my good friend Karen. Good luck with all the packing and moving that needs to happen over the next couple of weeks. I miss not seeing you on the thread as much as the blabbermouth days but that is what makes Facebook so nice. You can still check in with people There are a number of Member Cruisers over on Facebook. If you haven't already joined think about it. If you have joined and haven't connected with me yet I wish you would. Also remember that Alex started a SSMC09 group over there.

OK off to shower and get ready to my appointment. The prep is nasty but hopefully today will go much easier!

Good luck with your move! Moving can be so stressful. I know what you mean about life getting in the way. Sometimes I wish I could just stop the world from spinning for a few days so I could catch up. Hang in there!

I homeschool also and I am so thankful that my kids are independent learners. It still takes up a lot of time, but if I had to stand over them every minute I might go crazy.

Thank you very much. That adorable young gentleman is my son. :)

Kelly - that picture is great of both of them. You should get them talking with Karen's (ohiominnie) children. They are a little older (KT will be 15 and I think Nick will be 12.5) but they love the theater.

In fact your picture reminded me of one of the two of them from a few years ago when they did Tiny Tim. I'll have to see if I can find it and put it up or maybe if Karen is reading this morning she'll do so.

That is one of the sweetest things I've heard. You are so thoughtful!

Thanks for mentioning this! I just started with Facebook and I'm off to go join the group. I never would've known about it if you didn't bring it up. I can't wait to see more of my new friends over there!

Here's the picture of Karen's KT and Nick I was talking about. Aren't they cute? This was from a few years ago.

Mary - that is such an adorable picture. Thanks for sharing it.

My kids do share a love for the theater. Sometimes I'm amazed at their appreciation for the arts. They have been to more ballets than most adults I know....and they actually LIKE it! We also go to some of the shows in the Broadway in Chicago series which is always a highlight for them. After we saw Wicked for the first time my son, Cory, said to me "How am I ever supposed to watch a movie in a regular movie theater now?" They are just suckers for the live orchestras, elaborate sets, and talented performers.

Kelly, that's funny about your son. But he is right. I would love to see Wicked! You are very lucky to expose your kids to such wonderful things.

Thanks for explaining the PDFG Mary. I always wondered what that stood for.
Hope everything turns out ok for you.

Thanks, Chris. I realize now how very blessed I have been to give my kids the experiences they've had. It is so much fun to share a common interest with them. Theater tickets and ballet tickets will be few and far between this year though! I was laid off back in November from a company I was with for 13 years. I think I've been in denial for the last couple months, but its all sinking in now!

All this theater talk has me thinking....

Do they have the same shows performing on the Member Cruise (Disney Dreams, etc.) as the "regular" cruises or do the speakers/special guests take the place of those shows?

Just curious.

Boy, that's too bad. Hopefully things will turn around and get better for you.
