I love the planning part of a vacation as well.

Our plan is to leave here Thursday early morning before the cruise. We are driving down as we have the last couple of Member Cruises. We'll stop in Macon, GA for the night and then get an early start the next morning.

We have a Boardwalk View studio booked for the Friday and Saturday night before the cruise. Saturday we'll do something park wise in the morning and then the DIS meet at BCV in the afternoon. Sunday we'll most likely drive to the port. After the cruise it is back to Boardwalk. This time in a one bedroom Boardwalk View for Thursday and Friday night. Saturday early am we'll start the drive home with a stop in TN to see family.

We have the Disney hotels booked but not the ones for the road quite yet.

Well, just to keep you informed, my BIL has found out that he has a very agressive brain cancer. Nothing can be done. They removed the original tumor but it had fingers and is out there, attacking. They have given him 18-24 months. :sad1: They are going to fight it with chemo and radiation but . . . All I can say is that I am worried about my DH. Not really sure how all this, sorry, CRAP works, but my FIL passed away January 7, 2008 of lung cancer and just under a year later my BIL has brain cancer. Tonight the Margarita's are going down really good cuz, well. . . . Does anyone have any advice? I want the DH to got get a complete physical but my BIL had one in September, and said he was fine, and now look. I'm just worried. And :sad2: I know the dr's don't know everything and they are just practicing medicine, but couldn't they have seen something in September? Sorry, just venting. . .Margarita's.

Sorry I don't have any words of advice but I just wanted to say that I am vey sorry to hear about your BIL. :grouphug:

I haven't posted in awhile, but I'm still here. Sorry to hear about everyones bad weather, we have been fortunate to have dry 80's this past week, but then again, this is normal for about 8 months out of the year.
Don't have much to say, so I'll just be lurking around, watching everyone's conversations.
BTW, is anyone a Battlestar fan? What a crazy season opener.

:wave2: I am a Battlestar fan. That was a great episode!

I sent this message to people I had E-Mail for.

Starting tomorrow all cell phone companies will be releasing all CELL PHONE NUMBERS to TELE Marketing Co.
If call this # 888-382-1222 to the National NO CALL Center you won't get any calls for five years. You can also do this on your home phone but dial 1 then the #
Hope this helps

Probably won't help much at all:

That's one of the things I like about the DIS. You can pop in read a few pages and leave. Although sometimes it's more than a few. :lmao:

I was going to post the same thing. I work with someone who passed this around the office and our IT department was not very happy about it!

Good morning everyone - happy Monday! Off to work for me today. I know some are off for the holiday. Enjoy!

Chris,

You had a very productive day. :thumbsup2 What airport do you fly out of? Are you coming into Orlando?
We don’t know how we are going to Orlando yet. We are thinking of driving, but are also looking into flying. It seams like air is on its way down. We could go out or O’Hare or Midway. I would prefer O’Hare because it is the closest.
We would come in on Saturday and will stay at WDW not sure were yet. We are leaving the day we get back. DH has to be back at work on Friday.
Have to decide soon.

:surfweb:

We are flying out of Des Moines on Delta into MCO. It is the closest to home. We will be leaving on Saturday morning because we don't like to fly on the same day as the cruise. We always go a day early, just in case. Bummer your hubby has to work on Friday, but what are ya gonna do. At least you will be on a cruise for most of the week! :)

We will probably be coming down just for the cruise. So all I'll need to worry about is airfare - and I haven't even done that yet!

I will be going back to WDW in October for the Tower of Terror 13k. I'll also be meeting up with friends in a Grand Villa in Kidani Village....so excited about that!:cool1:

Rehearsals for Nutcracker start the beginning of September, and my kids can't miss more than two rehearsals. (They even have to sign a performance contract.) So if we skip out on a pre/post WDW stay for the Member's Cruise - they won't miss any practices which are on Fridays and Saturdays.

That means I can take a longer vacation in October! ::yes::

How fun to be going back in October! We love Disney in October. Halloween time and Food & Wine Fest are the best! Have fun.

I just love the Nutcracker! Hope you all have fun with that! Have they done this before?

I'm the same way, part of my vacation is the planning. I love everything to be taken care of way in advance.
We've got reservations for Delta airlines to Orlando, Magical Express to Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani, paid for DCL shuttle transfer. After the cruise we have a car rented to drive down to Vero Beach through the weekend, then be back in San Diego Sunday night at midnight.
The only thing that is still up in the air is how to get to Trifty car rental after the cruise. They have the cheapest rates but I don't know if they pick up from the terminal.

OOOOOOOH, we have always wanted to try Vero. We have been there once just walking around and it looks to peaceful and relaxing. You'll have to let us know how it is. :goodvibes

We have driven down before and boy what a long haul. It is a total of 23 hours drive time and we split it into two days. We try to make it to Atlanta that first day so it's not so far the second day. It is a nice drive though. We just stayed our first time at BWV last October and loved it! It was so close to our two favorite parks, EPCOT and HS. Hope we can stay there again sometime. :flower3:

Giving us a bump back from page 2.

We actually enjoy driving down. There isn't often in our lives that we get to spend that much time with just the two of us together to talk. Plus by driving we get to see family on the way back which is a nice bonus.

I love WDW in October too. Food and Wine is the best!!! My kids are little foodies themselves, so they enjoy trying all the different dishes from all the countries. We were there last year for Food and Wine and they can't wait to go back.

This will be the kids' fourth Nutcracker. Its so much fun for them. The stage and sets are huge and the costumes are gorgeous. Its a lot of work, but every year when I ask them if they want to do it again, they don't hesitate to say yes. My son was the prince in this year's Nutcracker and Courtney had three parts. She is really hoping for Clara this year, but auditions aren't until May - so we have a long way to go until then. It really is a pain to plan around all the rehearsals and I wouldn't do it if they didn't love it so much.

But October seems so far away. I'm so glad we have this cruise to tide us over!

I know I have read somewhere that tips were already included in this cruise. Is this true? and If so, Is there anyone not covered we will still need to tip?

I understand that if they go above and beyond, I can always tip more.:chat:

Tips for the 4 main positions are included (Head Server, Server, Asst. Server, and Room Steward). These are the positions you get the little envelopes for at the end of the cruise. On the Member Cruise you still get these but you also get vouchers for the positions stating what tip has been given each position. You then have the option to add additional to the envelope if any of these people go above and beyond as they often do.

You will still want to budget tips for the porters and for room service if you plan on using it. Anything you get at a bar or from the servers who walk around Castaway Cay will have a tip automatically added and you just sign for it.

Hope this helps.

Good morning everyone - happy Tuesday. Going to be a fun day for me - not! I'm having a colonoscopy screening tomorrow. That means today is prep day which I hear is the worst part. :) So clear liquids only for me today and then tonight I get to drink the cleaning fluid. What fun!

Mary,

After years of saying I would never have a colonoscopy, I had my first two weeks ago. Turned out not to be as bad as I feared. I did a lot of research prior to undergoing the procedure. I found the following list put the whole thing in its proper perspective:

Top 12 Joys During a Colonoscopy Examination

12. The pre-show cleansing -- known at my house as "The Bottomless Spit."

11. There's nothing to hit the fan.
10. Anal probe makes you eligible for guest appearance on "South Park."
9. Crack navigation provides little chance of colliding with iceberg.
8. Zany rectal air hose makes you feel you can fly over Macy's parade.
7. Any loose change found is yours!
6. Sedatives hallucination transforms doctor into Jim Henson and you're a Muppet.
5. Don't need to wear dress-up clothes to get pictures taken. Eight-by-10s and wallets prescribed and autographed by physician.
4. That's you on the video monitor -- and, no, you don't have tunnel vision.
3. Intestinal muscle spasms taped for MTV.
2. You have a textbook colon. The bad news: You can only use a school potty.
And the number one joy during a colonoscopy examination:
Medical team refers to you as "The Outback Snakehouse."

Good luck to you! I'm only 35 and I had to have a colonoscopy last year. I don't know what my doctor was thinking! It was really not as bad as I thought it would be. And those "happy drugs" they give you made it all good! The prep day is far worse than the actual proceedure - you'll be fine!
