Anyone One Say Cat 8 A Good Room?

We had a CAT 8 for our October 5 cruise. It was number 6014 and the room had the big window. We were planning on getting a CAT 8 again but while DH was on hold this morning he said he really wanted a verandah so we moved up.

We're probably coming in the day before and staying at a DVC resort. After the cruise, we're going back to WDW for 2 nights before heading over to the port to get on the Magic 9/19 for a Western Caribbean cruise.

Can I stow away in your luggage? Good for you.

We booked our very first members cruise this morning!!! We got through in about 2 minutes-lucky us! We joined DVC last february (and Thanksgiving will actually be our first time using DVC at AKL). We booked at Cat 7, navigator's verandah! I am so excited!! My husband and I have been on the Magic twice but never the Wonder! I can't wait!

It will be me and my husband and we plan on going to WDW over Labor Day (Sept 5-12th and staying at Kidani Village) and then Sat night go to the port, stay at a hotel there (any suggestions on a good hotel?)...and then off to the cruise we go! We are thinking about going back to WDW for the weekend after the cruise but not sure yet....

We live in London now but we'll be back living in AZ by then--it seems so far away-especially since our life will be so different then!

What's the countdown at?! (I'm still counting down my WDW trip for Nov 27th I love having 2 trip countdowns at once!!:cool1:

Turns out, they interpret a disconnect as "Please call me!!"

I always wondered that. It's very very good to know. Of course, you'd have to have made some contact with them so they knew who it was who "hung up." :)

How is everyone else coming in? I know it is still early but I am so excited. ;)
It is going to be a long 10 months plus but we have each other to get through it.

I think we'll get to Orlando 45 weeks early. Just to be sure we make it there on time. I'd hate to be late. ;)

tee-hee. Actually, we just moved to FL about 6 weeks ago. Close enough to the Magic Kingdom to see the fireworks from our yard! We're building a house and we'll actually be even closer! :) So I think we'll just drive to the port that morning. Unless someone does the WDW to the port bus, and then we may schlep over to WDW and pick that up!

We've always stayed at the Hampton Inn at Cocoa Beach. Nice, clean hotel and a fairly big free (included) breakfast. :)

Hey, we lived in London too! We just moved from there about 6 weeks ago. Of course, ours was London, Ohio, but still.....

And we are at 45 weeks as of today!

As of 4:00 ET, everything is sold out except Cat 4 per the member site

This will be our 4th dcl cruise 3rd on the wonder. We will be heading down the day before either to a dvc resort or right to the port, not sure yet then after the cruise maybe back to wdw for a night or two not sure yet.

Some of the good hotels are the Radisson at the port or the one we stayed at last cruise was Country Inn and Suites...

You are going to have a great trip it sounds like.:)

I know quite a few DIS stay at Radisson, Cap Canaveral that is were we will stay Saturday night. It Is 139.00 for one night and parking while you are on the cruise. They take you to DCL and back.

What I can do is if any one is interesed I can call and see if we can get a discount depending on how many. I know that some DIS groups do this.

That was our plan too. To move down here when dh retires. But things came up, opportunities knocked. And everything totally fell into place exactly how it needed to in order to move now. (things like selling our house in 3 weeks in this market on a road where houses are usually for sale for a year or more!)

So it's all good now. I'm glad we were able to do it now while the kids can still get some fun out of WDW. And someone made a good point to us. If we had waited until the kids were grown and we retired, the kids would visit, but it wouldn't be like coming "home." This will give them several years to establish THIS as their home, so when they grow up and then come back to visit, they'll be coming home. :)

We stayed at the Radisson before the 2003 Member Cruise and had a nice little DIS meet there. So those of you at the port the night before can have one DIS meet and for those of you staying at Disney (or who live near Disney) we'll be having one at the Beach Club the day before the cruise.

PDFG and all our friends who need it.

We are planning coming in a day or two early and staying near the port. Not sure what to do about transportation from airport to port and then port back to airport. Any ideas?

Hey, at least the wait time is back down to 5 minutes! :) :lmao:

Congratulations to those Members who booked passage on the S.S. Member Cruise 2009! As of Sunday, November 2, 2008, this voyage is officially sold-out. If you would like to be added to our waitlist, please contact Member Services at 800-******** or 407-566-3800.

WOW ... Sorry if any of you all did not get thru.

Some of the car rental companies offer free shuttles to/from the port. We've used Avis in the past and it has worked great. Not sure which others offer it. I know National doesn't (that's who we normally use at WDW).

I think Karen is right that is sold out about 2pm on the first day one year. Last year it didn't sell out for a few weeks.

Definitely get on the wait list if anyone is reading this and hasn't booked yet. It has been successful in the past as peoples plans change.

Congrats to all those who did make it in.
