Started calling at 0859. Finally got into the que at 1200 EST. Unbelievable...spending my whole day off on the phone....hope there is something left by the time I get through....but the wait will be worth it, I am sure...

OK, we're on Deck 6 so I hope much better than Deck 2. We also went through a Tropical Storm for our first cruise and I made it through that so it can't be that bad in the the front. time and is


Our friends been in que for 1.5 hrs after accidently hanging up on the first call.

Just a reminder that you can log on to the DCL website and check your reservation. I just checked and ours is up already. Makes it just a little more real when I see it online!

Well, after 2 hours 10 minutes of calling and 1 hour and 20 minutes on hold, I am finally through. Of course, I confused her when I told her that I was going solo, so I am on hold again.

well, it looks like the category 6 rooms are gone, she just came back and asked me to pick another category.

OK, it only took almost 4 hours , but I am booked for my first member cruise!

I have a category 5 cabin, room 7600. Plus I booked a Kidani SV studio for the Saturday night before the trip plus the Thursday and Friday nights after the trip.

Now I just need to convince one of my sisters to come with me since I am basically paying for a second person anyways.

Actually, I've been watching the activity on this thread for a couple of hours, but just thought to chime in now.

Last year, I was one of the first to dial in, not realizing that my category preference (for price, of course) - Category 11 - was unlikely to sell out with the limited phone servicing on first day reservations. Armed with that knowledge, my strategy for this year was to let the morning pass, until I heard people were getting past the busy signal and into the queue. Following this thread, I noticed that this event has finally occurred and am now patiently waiting in the queue.

My strategy could backfire - if it does, oh well. I already have my reservations in at OKW for the weekend "bookends" (weekend before and 4 day weekend after).

Oh, by the way....for anyone who doesn't get in and wants to sail on SSMC09.....WAITLIST!

I believe it was SSMC06 where we didn't book on booking day and then decided to try just several months before the cruise sailed. The waitlist ended up going through, but we ended up declining anyway.

So even if you don't get in (or don't get the category you want), if you REALLY want to go....waitlist!

Hmmm, the 1:00 update (and my clock says it's only 12:58) shows limited availability of cat 6, whereas 3's, 7's, and 8's are listed as officially sold out.

We love the aft of the ship. It is our favorite spot.

We've never sailed on deck 5 but we have friends who have and loved it. They said the halls were very quiet.

You are very welcome! We could have seen each other - we've only been to the pre-opening party but you never know. If you want to get together sometime before the cruise let me know. Maybe we can meet out that way for lunch or something.
