We would like to do Alaska to. My DS really wants to do one. That would probibly be are last vacation with him. But the air is going to be expensive. So we have to think about it.

I looked at airfare last night, from Boston to Vancouver RT was $550/each

I didn't think that was too bad.

Good Afternoon Mark- The points for a 11A room are 206 per adult, but that is for the 7/5 cruise. I haven't seen any charts posted, but I called up and asked directly thru member services. She did say it varies by sailing dates though, so it might be more or less for your specific dates.

I checked air fare. The cheepest I could find from here is 600.00 per person.

I will keep checking.

Flo- that is weird that it is more expensive from Chicago, you are 3 hours west of us already. I just went on to travelocity and looked what the fares would be in July 2010 to get a guess.

I agree Mark but my kids keep threatening that they will be choosing my nursing home

I have promised them another cruise as my DW and I will be cruising alone again in 2010, and we have always talked about doing an Alaskan.

You will be paying cash? We plan on using points so we wouldn't have to cough up the deposit. Too bad you didn't book a dummy date on the cruise and only pay I believe $100 or $200. per person deposit.

We asked about alaska and the lady said we couldn;t do anything for that yet. So we didn;t book it on there. She never mentioned booking a dummy date

When I asked she said I could book Dec. 5th 2010 for a dummy date and transfer it over, but ONLY if paying cash. If I used even 1 point I would have to wait and book thru DVC
