09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Great start Robbie!

So is anyone signing up to do a DCL house party. I believe this is where Annmarie's husband Tom won his cruise last year.

Good Evening! I am just catching up on today's activity. DD2 had volleyball games tonight so we got home about 7:30 then still had to make supper and how do I wish I were back on the Wonder!

Just checked my e-mails and my TA got me the 7/5 date we wanted and for less than the 7/12 date (guess the 7/5 date included the on board booking discount). We had booked a dummy date on board the member cruise as well.

Also on the good news front I went to the oncologist today and he told me I officially graduated from chemo! I go back to see him every 3 months for blood work etc. Next appointment is in December!

Great news Mary! I'm so happy for you.

Sue- Yes the cruise is in 2011. We haven't chosen a date yet, but I know it is a limited sail season. I would have to check with Tanya when she would be available. I just used that 7/5 date as a guide to get what the actual points might be. The CM said it does fluctuate with different booking dates. We will most likely be going just don't have any idea of the dates yet. It would be great if we could all get together again, we had such a good cruise.

Dave - it would be great to know when you would be sailing and to see if we could possibly swing it. That is going to be a crazy year for us but we really would love to do an Alaskan and it would be during the summer so the girls would be able to go.

It definitely would be soooo much more fun to do it all together again! We had a fantastic time - it was really a great cruise! :thumbsup2

The picture of the six of us in Promenade Lounge came out great - I'll have to get it to you!

I totally agree with you!

Hi everyone!!!

The kids and I returned home last night. I am so exhausted.

I really enjoyed meeting so many of you on the cruise. Thank goodness we made it to the BCV meeting because once on board I hardly made it to any of the get togethers.

I really wanted to make it to the pictures but with the kids it seemed like we were always on the go. I guess that is because we were.

One of the biggest lessons I learned on this adventure is to get to the port earlier. Once we hit the port it seemed like the rest of the evening was spent running around like crazy. By the time we checked in and got the security pictures, then got the kids wrist bands and pager for the clubs, then got another picture and finally on to the ship I was exhausted. Then, we had to find our room. We got to the room and then Connie paid us a visit to drop off the FE. THANK YOU!!!! Thankfully she informed us that we had better get to lunch so that we would not miss it. I think we only had about a half hour left. After lunch kids got suits on for the pool. We went searching for the DIS meet onboard and we of course arrived at the end of the event. Then off to the pool. About 5 minutes after getting in the pool they had to get out for the emergency drill. After the drill, then back up to room and kids got wet suits off and then to the Sail Away party. When I finally had a chance to look at the Navigator I found out the Golden Mickeys were that night but of course by the time we dressed for dinner and then found the theater we missed most of the show and then off to AP for dinner. Somewhere in all of this we stopped by the club and lab to get their details and figure out how all of that worked.

You experienced cruisers may all laugh but the one statement I made from the start was, "By the time the cruise was over and it was time to leave the ship, that is when I would finally start getting the hang of things." That was pretty much it. I look at this adventure as a learning experience. I will be much better prepared next time. Although, I have already told the kids that my next cruise will be with no kids. I love them dearly but I came home much more tired than when I left. I did not think that was possible. :confused3

I also think I would like a longer cruise next time. Want some ME time to just relax. I think maybe that will be a present to myself when I finally complete my masters. A cruise to do what I want when I want!!!

I have been wanting to go on an Alaskan cruise for a long time now. I was so excited when they announced Disney would be going there. How exciting.
Maybe, just maybe.

Glad to hear you all made it home safely. Sorry to hear of the few mishaps, or should I say missing bags and wallets, along the way.

Regards,
Lisa

Did you have your name on the bag? Lost and found at DCL was very nice when I called about our things. We didn't have our name on ours, which was really dumb on our part...I saw some of the pins on ebay today for 2009 member cruise. The CM at lost and found said that sometimes it is a couple of days until some people start to unpack everything and realize they have something that belongs to someone else. I am hoping that we get our things back, or that someone says that we can have their clocks. Good luck and I hope your bag shows up.

I heard someone getting on the ship from CC that they lost their DL and their room card...and now you lost your wallet!!! I would be freaking out. Guess my loss of the clocks and some of my FE gifts isn't quite as bad. I would call DCL lost and found directly. Good luck.

Susan

Hey Susan- if you need a clock still, let me know! I have 5 of them!! Well, soon i will have five of them. my fed ex stuff should arrive tomorrow!!

Question for everyone???

How am I going to keep in touch with you all if I don't know anyone's last name? Don't you need full names in order to find someone on facebook? :confused3

I'm on FB under KITA HILL

Chris- I believe we are looking at either 7/12 or 7/19, do either of these "fit" in your plans? I hope so, it would be great sailing with you and Bob again.

Hi Lisa,
Glad to here you got home alright. And don't feel bad, my first cruise when the boys were younger sounded just like yours!! But to make you feel better, yes, they do get easier now that you know, and absolutely, you must take one without kids because it's a whole new ballgame!! It's wonderful! ;)

Keep me posted as to how you guys are doing in Webelos!

:surfweb: Right there with ya!!:lmao:

Wow, it just took me 15 minutes to get back on - don't know what was up with that!

Good Morning, Dave!
Nice to have coffee with you! John got on the computer last night and was crunching numbers and points to see if we will have enough for Alaska. If might work!! :woohoo:

Good Morning!

Dave - we are starting to look at those cruises. For us, I think July is a good time anytime.

And I have had my Pop this morning for coffee club!

Have a great day! :flower3:
