09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Good morning everyone - happy Monday!

Oh how I wish I was sitting with the DIS coffee club on the Wonder. Good times!

Instead I owe, I owe, so off to work I go. OK truth is I work to pay for the cruises etc. :rotfl:

Is anyone planning on calling (or having a TA call for you) today to get anything for 2011?

PDFG and all our friends who need it!

Mary- I wish I was there as well, it was a great way to start each morning.

I thought I have to wait until 9/28 or something because I have only sailed 4 times? We would like to book an Alaskan Cruise as well.

First off I want to say we had a WONDERFUL time on this year's Members Cruise. And why was it so wonderful you ask. . . . It was because of all of YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We don't ever remember meeting such nice, friendly and fun loving folks on a cruise before. DVC is what brought us together and for that I am thankful. We would love to cruise with you all again.

Dave and Tanya, you guys are such fun. From the moment we met in the terminal till the last night sitting in the bar, we will never forget the fun times. And Sue, I do think it is your turn to splash Bob again. God that was funny. Mary - you are such a card!!!! I just loved sitting and listening to you talk. Flo - I wish we would have seen more of you - we did eat lunch with you on Monday at Cookies and enjoyed our visit. Hope your tooth is better.

I could go on and on, but unfortunately I'm back at that four letter word place, "work". Like Mary said, I owe, I owe so off to work I go! Have to pay off this trip and get ready for the one in March!

Well, I see great minds think alike!! ;) I was just sitting here with the second cup, wishing I was on deck with you guys, and there you are on the thread!

Would like to do the Alaskan right away, but will probably have to wait to see how finances go! Save me a spot, okay!! :rotfl2:

Sue - yes the Poly was nice, but after staying at the DVC resorts, we actually missed them. But I can now cross the Poly off my bucket list! :lmao:

WDW was not nearly as relaxing as the cruise but we had a great time. Loved that the crowds were down. The longest wait time we saw was like 40 minutes at Test Track. You could get fast passes for most everything and only had an hour wait before riding. So it wasn't bad at all. Except it was hot! Very hot.

One new thing we did and would love to have had you guys with us was we went to Jelly Rolls on Saturday night. That is the dueling piano bar on the Boardwalk. OMG what a blast. Those guys were amazing. If you ever get a chance I would suggest going.

Well, gotta get busy at work. Have a great day! :flower3:

Hey - we want to go too!!!!! But our oldest graduates in May of 2011, so like you Sue, finances. But that would be a blast to go with you guys.

Chris, have a great day at work! :)

Glad you liked the Poly, but I know what you mean, once you've stayed at the DVC places, all of the other resorts just seem like regular hotel rooms! Boy, are we spoiled!!

Have heard about Jelly Rolls but haven't been there - we'll have to try it next time. And yes, I really wish we were there with you guys - you are both so much fun to be with and I truly hope we get to do it again! Thanks for your company!!

Mary,

If you don't mind this poor little shy person being around (hehehe) let me know which Alaskan cruise you book on so that maybe, if the powers that be allow, we can sneak onboard with you! Miss you already - :rotfl:

Well to be honest we don't know yet. The TA is trying to book us 7/5 but looking at my CC account online I see DCL has already booked us on 7/12 (based on a fax request I sent in years ago). So we'll see what developes and which comes out cheaper.

Would love to sail with you guys again!

I how is everyone doing today. It was great meeting all of you on the cruise. I hope everyone had a good time and got all the gifts home safely.

YUP! We are having our TA call for us today.....we booked "dummy" dates on the SSMC! It'll be great to cruise with you again! Connie

well I missed the coffee club this morning also, wish I could have been there with all of you. I took today off also, I have a doc appointment at 10:20. Didn't want to rush around and have my blood pressure go up. After all work makes it go up just thinking about it.

I would love to cruise with everyone of you again.:cool1: you make my heart sing.:cool1:

Mary,

GOod luck with the date you want for the Alaska Cruise.

Chris - It was great to eat lunch with you to.

Chris and Sue - I agree I don't know if I could go back to staying at a resort after staying at DVC. I am so used to them

Take care and have a grat day everyone.

One of our fellow cruisers offered to send me one of the clocks that we lost. Isn't that just the nicest??? What a great bunch of folks.

We are home . Wish we could have just stayed at WDW longer. Like everyone else, have to work to pay for the trip and future ones......

Yes, we are booked already on the April 27th respositioning and the 1st (May 3rd) Alaska cruise. Wanted to stay with our inaugural cruises to keep that list going.

Prices weren't as bad as I thought they would be. Might roll over to DVC points once the charts come out.

thanks everyone for a great cruise. Had a great time. Don't know if we will go on next year's member cruise or not. Have been disappointed in the last couple of year's with the increase in points and lack of entertainment.

Hope to cruise with everyone again....soon!

well, we are finally home. Got here at 12:34 this morning and could only stay up another hour telling our kids about the cruise.
Everyone is still asleep here but me and I still have alot more to tell them.
We went to Kennedy Space center on Saturday, and that place really made me feel proud to be an American. Seeing the actual atlas rocket was amazing, I never knew it was that big.
Tomorrow I start back at work and I guess I have to go back to a semi-normal life..:sad2:

Linda, Barb & I are also booked on the repositioning, but we might have to cancel, Barb just started a new job and we are still not sure if she will get the time off.

In case you are interested, I just saw over on DVCNews that Member Services now have the points charts for '11 cruises.

Hi everyone!!

Thought I'd check in. Today is the first day I've been on my computer since our Thursday arrival home. I can't believe I've been so busy since we've been back- and tired- that I fall asleep early and keep going and going!!

My favorite moment of our vacation: walking up to the monorail ramp at the transportation center to go to the Not So Scary Party, and my DS2 saying "wow mommy, this is beautiful!!" We were only on the ramp, and he was so in awe and excited to be there.

We had an excellent time both in disney and on the cruise. I felt really rushed the last day of the cruise after Castaway Cay. I had no idea about luggage needing to be packed early, and it was our Palo night... just crazy!!

I'd like to go on one without the kids... or only with my DD8, and my DS2 when he's potty trained and can go to the kids club... my husband missed all of the parties, and one of us was always in the room with napping DS1.... we didn't get to do much as a family except the beach.

Loved the konk coolers by the way!!
