We're home! Bet you didn't even know we were gone. :lmao: Went up to Milwaukee for a Nascar weekend at the Milwaukee Mile. Our hotel had great free internet access so we were able to stay in touch.

Went up Thursday night after dinner and get there before the heavy rains hit. Woke up Friday morning which was supposed to be the first race day (night race) and decided there was a very good chance it would be rained out. So went spent the morning at a local mall and the afternoon/evening at the hotel just relaxing, reading and watching the weather channel. Sure enough the race was postponed until Saturday afternoon.

Saturday we woke up nice and early and headed to the track about 7 am. Got a great parking spot and took out our chairs and table and realxed until race time. Both races were great but it was a very long day. Didn't get back to the hotel until almost 11 (and that was with leaving the race a few laps early). Slept in this morning, had breakfast, and we were on the road by 8 am. Came home and did grocery shopping and now just relaxing and doing laundry.

No damage to our house but I see a neighbor has part of a tree down in their yard.

Good Morning Everyone. :thumbsup2

Anyway, we were thinking alot about our last member cruise in 05, as we get ready for this one. Does anyone remember the Pirate Scavanger Hunt that they had preceeding that cruise? We were put in groups and ran all over downtown Disney and West Side - in the rain for alot of it. Were any of you there? I'd love to know - we had a great time doing that with our DS.

ttfn,
Sue

Sue we were there but didn't do the scavanger hunt. We did do a DIS meet outside of Fulton's Crab House before the Bon Voyage party began. We also saw one of the shows at the Comedy Warehouse. Then we called it a night. SSMC05 was a great one!

hey everyone! i will be gone next week on vacation to new hampshire. hope all is well with everyone while we are gone.
we are taking magical express from ssr to port and then from port to mco. i plan on getting a day room at mco on thursday as our plan doesn't leave until 6pm. its getting closer, i am so excited!

Have a great vacation!

Hello All,
It has been forever since I have been on the board. Craig and I are really excited about going on the Member Cruise again this year. I don't get to get on here very often any more. They cut my access at work, and getting on at home at night is very limited. I can't wait to get to know all of you. I have gone back and read a bunch of the post.

Talk to you again soon,
Alex's Mom
Carol

Nice to see you posting Carol. Got your pm (via Mark) and replied. :)

I hope everyone is having a good Saturday. It has been a rainy one here so after I came from the beauty salon I did some trip planning. I made ADRs at Cape May Cafe for breakfast the Saturday before the cruise and 1900 Park Fare for breakfast on the Friday after the cruise. My family loves breakfast. It is our favorite meal of the day.

I do have another question. I was looking at the Flounder's Reef Nursery video on the website and it mentioned designated times for charater meet and greets. Does Disney offer this on the member's cruise?

They have most of the regular cruise things (like portraits and character greetings) as well as special DVC events (talks, special shows, etc.). So the best of both worlds.

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone is doing fine. So sorry Flo about the water, are things better yet?

Sue the camp sounds wonderful.

Well, I have not been around much lately, DH still recovering from knee surgery. My uncle passed away, My cousins have been in from out of town.

And I had a reaction to my Blood pressure meds. I was swollen badly from my knees to my toes, everything else was only slightly swollen. I am much better now, only a little swollen all over.:confused3

Other than that everything is wonderful:cool1:

Sorry to hear about the swelling and about your uncle. Add to that your DH having his knee surgery and you sure do have a lot on your plate. Take care of yourself!

Ellen, thanks for the links. Beautiful, beautiful photos. I have a Canon S3 IS
and I would love to get an EOS...don't know if I would be smart enough to use it. I never use anything on my camera except auto !! I do get great pictures with that camera, though. The only thing it does not do well is night photos, and also it won't do the Spectromagic Parade. I had a Sony that took all of those night pictures really well, but not as good as the Canon for daytime. Oh, well, once I finish paying off my knees, maybe that will be my next investment, unless something else wears out...LOL.

Those photos of the Palo Brunch make me so glad that I am going! On the last 2 cruises, we didn't go, just went to dinner, which we loved also. But the brunch looks even better yet.

Does anyone else think that the pancakes on the ship are horrid???? I love pancakes and they taste like grit. Even frozen ones would be better than those. Wonder if they are any better at Palo's. But with all of the other things, who needs pancakes, right?

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Susan

Well the pancakes we had in Palo were just for the pancake sisters. :lmao: So we didn't eat them just used them for the photo shoot.

Ok, if I don't get one, I will give you a break from having to see my same signature!

And I also was never hit by the tag fairy...rats.

Congrats on the :bride: and the pirate:

I think that catches me up on everything. If anyone wants a copy of my spreadsheets just e-mail me at the member cruise address on the website and I'll send it along.

Going to City Island in Harrisburg for a picnic..hoping the rain holds off.

Sank in the mud last night at our church festival just to get a grilled sausage sandwich with peppers and onions...UMMMM it was so good.

Susan,

Hope the rain holds off and you have a fantastic time.

WOO HOO...even though I had to cheat, I got a pirate and an ES,:guilty::woohoo:

Had a great day, rain held off...nice picnic lunch on the island, ride on the little train around the island, and a day with DH and daughters, sons in law and grandkids. Gotta love that...but I need a nap.

Hope all the dads had a great day.

Blessings,
Susan

UHOH, where are my piratt and ES??? Is my signature too big to see them?

Morning Everyone!

Hope you all have a great start to the week.:)

It is another rainey day here in IL.;)

Good morning everyone - happy Monday! Could use a little pixie dust this morning. 1) I go and try to have chemo again today. I was rejected last week. Hopefully my platelets are back up enough to have it. 2) Went to turn on the air conditioning yesterday and it is dead. :sad2: We have already been talking about replacing the furnace and air conditioner (they were with the house when we bought it 18 years ago). This just accelerates it a bit. Mark has someone coming over this morning to take a look and see if we can get it up and running until we can order and install a new one. It is going to be a hot week here in Chicagoland so hopefully he can fix it.

Susan - where did you put them in your signature? The last line I see is "DVC MEMBERS VWL AND SSR". There are restrictions on the size of signatures and it will automatically cut off at the maximum size. What you will see when you are setting it up will be the whole thing but you will have to play with it to get it to fix.

Good Monday Morning!

Congrats Susan on the :bride: and pirate:. It's fun.

Mary - hope you can get your air conditioning going. It is going to be really hot this week here and we get it before you do. The heat index today is to be around 100-105 degrees. Just a little to warm for this time of year. I also hope everything goes ok for you today and you are able to get your chemo treatment.

Have a great day! :flower3:

How do I add them to my signature???
I know, I am impaired.

Susan - you need to go up to User CP (the first one on the red bar up at the top). Then look on the left side and you'll find an option edit signature. That brings up a text box just like when you type here and the smilies are to the right. Pick the :bride: and pirate: and then you are good to go.

Mary,

Hope all goes well today. Sending pixiedust:pixiedust:and prayers your way.:grouphug:

Fingers crosed that they can get the air at least up and running in the mean time.:) You are right it is going to be a hot week here.

Mary, I'm sending some pixiedust: your way.

Thank you!

Good news on both fronts. Mark had someone he know who works in the industry out to look at it and add freon and also seal it. Seems to be working as the house is cool and it is working right now. We're still looking at getting a new one but hopefully this will last until then.

Also my platelets were good enough to go forward with chemo today. So come Wednesday when I finish this round I'll be 2/3rds of the way done with only 4 more treatments ahead.

Lots of pixie dust coming your way, Mary! You dear person. You have had a rough time of it. And thank you for helping me figure out the pirate and ES!

Blessings,

Hi Mary....glad to hear that Mark got someone to fix your a/c. I am very happy to hear the platelet were good enough for the next round of chemo. You are an amazing woman...bless you.

I hope everyone is having a good day. I'm trying!!! Mother nature is a little confused here....one minute it's pouring rain....then the sun comes out, sky is blue and it's hot outside. Then it rains again...then the sun....now it's raining again.:scared1::confused::eek:

Have a good day :)

Take care....Monika :flower3:

Great job Mary! May your platelets and cool air stay strong! I will still be sending pixiedust: your way along all the support and strength we can send you.

I haven't posted for a long while, but am trying to catch up with everything.

Sorry about the flooding Flo, I hope things are going a little better now.

I am so excited about our 2nd member cruise and really look forward to meeting all of you.

I will be traveling with my DH "Grumpy", my mother and her husband. OHH, I forgot to mention Flo, thats makes 4 adults in our cabin for the fish extenders. I'll send you a PM. Also, thanks for all the great ideas on fish extender "gifts".

Does everyone get really dressed up for pirate night?

Ravonne

So glad you were able to get your treatment today, Mary. Hope all the rest work out as planned for you.

Also, glad to hear about the A/C. It is a cooker out there today!

I'm worried about DD2. She had softball practice from 5-7 today. Just getting ready to leave to go get her. Told her to take lots of water with her.

Stay cool everyone! :flower3:
