Quick Questions Everyone?
Has anyone been on a 4th of July cruise on Disney?
I am look at my son and I going on the 3 day, just for a quick get away. So I am looking for input!!! I am not crazy about it only being a 3 day, because I always think they are too short.
Any inputs????:confused3

Mary, so glad to see that you were able to get another round of chemo done. Hope you are feeling okay!

Haven't had to turn on the air conditioner here yet, it has been pouring rain and flooding all month long. Problem is, it is suppose to finally clear up in the next week, and then I know it will all of a sudden be 100 degrees and then we will be complaining cuz it's too hot!

I need a cruise! :dance3:

I have not been on the 4th of July cruise but...Let me think,

3 nights, no house work, tons of other kids for your son to play with, a pedicure, no cooking, pools, cold drinks brought to you, stateroom attendant. Ice cream bars at midnight. Fireworks at sea (weather permitting). GO!!

Thank you!

Good news on both fronts. Mark had someone he know who works in the industry out to look at it and add freon and also seal it. Seems to be working as the house is cool and it is working right now. We're still looking at getting a new one but hopefully this will last until then.

Also my platelets were good enough to go forward with chemo today. So come Wednesday when I finish this round I'll be 2/3rds of the way done with only 4 more treatments ahead.

So so glad to here that you had a good day today. My prayers will be with you through those last four treatments. I used to sit with my friend while she had her chemo and understand how grueling it can be. Keep up the positive thoughts:love:

I'm at my camp now. We've had sun then rain then sun then rain - it's crazy!
But talk about positive attitudes - I've got one girl who is on active chemo while she's here, because she didn't want to miss camp! I have to watch her and make sure that she doesn't go under the water. What a trooper!

I keep thinking that if we keep having this much rain, instead of building an ark, I could just have the Wonder pick us up here!

ttfn,
Sue:flower3:

Good morning everyone - happy Tuesday!

Thanks again for all the prayers and pixie dust - they have really helped.

Air is still working (knock wood - it is off now but it hasn't gone above the temp set so it shouldn't be running right now). The gentleman who fixed it called last night to see how it was going. Nice follow up. Mark also heard from the company we are going to get the estimate from so that is moving along as well.

Dianne - glad to hear your husband is doing well. Sounds like he's getting around great. Remember to take care of yourself and I hope you are feeling better.

Sue - I did parasailing on CC a few years back. It is something I always wanted to do. I loved it! The only downside for me is that it was the last run of the day. All day long I saw them real close to the breakwater with great views of the island. The wind must have shifted and they took us so far out Mark couldn't get any pictures from the ship (he didn't go with me). I was nice and dry until the booked it back to the ship so fast we all got drenched! They had also called all aboard and Mark was worried I missed the ship. :lmao: I've seen some pictures lately where they go near the ship now. One tip I learned from the DIS - take two cameras with you. Take one up with you and give one to someone on the boat. That way you'll get pictures of you going up and coming down as well as pictures from up there.

Mary,
Thanks so much for the tip. yes, it is something I have always wanted to do and have been so disappointed about always being cancelled. I hope I get to do it this time. I scheduled us on the parasailing for 11 am, figuring it would be before lunch (just so I wouldn't flip my stomach upside down). Do you feel any different when you are up there?

Sue

Sue, I had always wanted to parasail before my 40th b-day. I had looked so forward to it for so long but it was cancelled the day we were to do it. :sad1: I literally cried I was so sad.

But, the very next year, after turning 40, we returned and were able to do it! And it was so worth it. I loved it. It is so quite while you are sailing up there. Here is a link with some pictures you have got to see. They are absolutely awesome. And ehagerty will be sailing with us on our cruise!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2202552

We took our video camera so we video taped each other while up there. All four of us did it. They made the girls go tandem, but me and DH both went by ourselves. And the boat ride is fun too! Along with watching everyone else.

Have a blast!

Sue - as Chris said it was very quiet up there. Well except for some creaking in the staps which I attributed to my weight. :rotfl:

When I was going up it felt like I wasn't even moving and then I watched the boat pull away.

It was something I had wanted to do for so long and I loved it!

Chris,

thanks for the photos - they were great! I can't wait to do this! oh my goodness, it looks high!

Yep, the update on the website was sure worth waiting for - we know as little now as we knew before. Oh well.
