Here's a new question for discussion for both old and new cruisers:


What made you book this Member Cruise?

(In other words why this cruise instead of maybe a 7 day or a different 4 day or a trip to WDW).

I have heard so many wounderfull things about it that I wanted to try it and see what it is like.

What made you book this Member Cruise?

(In other words why this cruise instead of maybe a 7 day or a different 4 day or a trip to WDW).

I have been on other cruises, but never DCL, I had heard how unique these trips have been in the past, I wanted to experience this for myself. And about the wonderful people you meet.

Thanks for keeping the list Flo. I asked this before but I think it got lost in the multi-post. Do we want to set up a cut-off date for this? Some groups in the past have done this so you know ahead of time how many to do.

I am like you I like to do things like this.

I think a cut off date is a great Idea. I think August 11th. It would give everyone a month to finish up. Or around tht time.

It will also give me time to finsh the list for Linda to put in the mini navagators.

We were able to go on the 2007 Members cruise and had a great time. We loved the fact that the tips were already included in the price of the trip and our absolute favorite was two trips to CC and no other island!!!!!!!!.

We also loved the gifts we received every night. One big thing is we just love to CRUISE! And what better way than with DVC!

Good morning everyone - happy Monday. Time to start another week.

I asked the question because over the years many here on the DIS felt the cruise wasn't worth it. I remember the negativity over on the DVC boards for the first cruise. How DVC thought we were cash cows because the cruise is more points than a regular 4 day. That one went to CC twice and also to Nassau (no sea day). We had a great time and loved the guests. That is what has brought us back year after year...the guests that DVC brings on board.

Then there are some that after sailing on the member cruise say it just isn't worth it and they would rather do a 7 day cruise for not that many more points. I can see that and we definitely enjoy a 7 day cruise as well.

For us it is the guests, the two stops at CC, and of course getting to sail with our fellow DVC members that make it special. Some years DVC has hit home runs with the line up and how they treated us cruisers, some years not so much. Wonder what they have planned for us now. I hope all of you first time member cruises get as much out of it as we have.

Memo to DVC : it has been Spring for a few weeks now. Time to announce the theme.

Good Morning all. I am with you Mary...its time to update the site and clue us in to the theme! I hope things I have heard, does not make my expectations to high. I would hope, I would just love every moment. We'll time to get ready for work, I have to be there in an hour. I am glad its a short drive.

Mary I couldn't have put it in any better words.
In the past four years we have been on three Members Cruisers. The first one we were on our own. It was on the planning of the second one where Nancy and I found the Dis Board and we found you and Mark and a big family of friends.
To you new cruisers a new a great expirence awaits you. We have been ion to members with Mary and Mark and we have become close Disney friends. Although we will be doing our first 7 day this year we are planning on doing another Members very soon.
As I said you new people set back and enjoy the ride you will never forget it right Mary?

Good Monday Morning!

Hope everyone has a great start to the week. The weather here is just supposed to get nicer every day. And by Friday they are predicting it to be in the 80's! My kind of weather.

Mary - I agree that some people don't feel the members cruise is worth it, but, after only being on the one, we loved it and wanted to go again! I do have to say the bummer for us was at the Castaway Club party/get together, because so many of us belong to that that everyone was there! Other than that, we had a great time. And this time will be different for us since we aren't taking the girls, which they are totally bummed about. Just too many school activities and me and DH need a trip for just us.

What a weekend, first my daughter got a rejection letter from the Disney College Program on Friday.
So on Saturday to cheer her, we went to Disneyland and my arm was twisted into buying annual passes

Then yesterday it got up almost to 98 degrees and it was too hot to do anything. That would have been the perfect day to be on Castaway Cay.
(Can't wait).
Anyway, if I'm not on the boards on the weekends, I'll be in Disneyland, it's only 90 minutes away.
