Just came back from a hectic trip with a party of 7. We did a mix of LL +
DAS and made use of the 119 minute buffer on the LL when things didn't line up exactly. For things like Rise of the Resistance where waits are often 2 hours we purchased Single LL for everyone, including those in the DAS party. There were some rides where we just didn't ride together and split up to ride at different times because we couldn't justify the price (Tron, Ratatouille). For Tiana's our DAS user (DD) didn't want to ride because she hates getting wet, BIL had LL but I didn't, so him and I did standby while the rest of the party went shopping at the gift shops and grabbed a bite to eat.
There are times when everyone wants to do different things, set time aside for this. For example we had a Fantasmic dinner package in DHS. After dinner we broke into 3 groups and met up at Fantasmic at the check-in time. After Fantasmic we broke up into 3 groups again and met back up at the hotel at the end of the night.
The key is to be flexible and communicate, the most frustrating times were when we would get off the ride and some family members would shop, some would wander off to find a bathroom, and the rest spent the time running around trying to find everyone else. Either have a designated meeting spot in say 15-20 minutes after exiting a ride and/or make sure everyone knows to text a group chat where they are going when they break from the group and where they will meet up when done.
