09/12/10 - DVCers Take Over the Wonder (S.S. Member Cruise 2010) - Thread #2

well back to work tomorrow. Been in last week for athletics but teachers report tomorrow. Been working 6am-9pm so I am very very very far behind in my reading. was trying to catch up tonight and bang thread closed and now that I have found the new one don't know if I will catch up.

Thanks for the bd wishes for hope. She and the kids are at the beach for the last hurrah before school. I will pass on the wishes. Ok back to reading.

Have a great week!

Scott

Hard to believe school is starting already. Where the heck did summer go? :confused3 It always goes by too fast. Our kids have been doing marching band camp since last week. They start school on Thursday. Our youngest DD is so excited for school this year. Both girls will now be at the High School. :scared1: I'm getting old. ;)

Dis4--I was hoping someone was doing pins. Please put me on your list too.:love:Thanks.
Haven't received my cruise docs yet. I live in hope that they come soon.

Hope you get your docs soon. :wizard: Here's hoping that they come today! :goodvibes

Good Morning all!!!

Chris - High School - :scared1::scared1: I can't think that far yet. Both of mine will be in school this year - I'm actually excited :confused3- DD3 will be in DD6s school they have a PreK program for 4 yr olds but agreed to take DD3 this year AND next. She will go three days this year and full time next. She is the baby and not around kids her age EVER - it is hard watching her be a little grown up all the time. DD6 was fortunate to have playmates (2 of my friends have girls the same age!) but you know how life goes onece they all start school and then us working.

Marsha - We :love::love: our pool - best thing we have done - since buying DVC!!!!:lmao:!!!!! We are in it daily and we are all getting some sun - well at least DH, DD6 and I are so we aren't see thru on the cruise!! DD3 is outta luck!!! She inherited the Irish in our family with red hair and VERY fair skin - we will have to sunscreen her continuously!!!We found the cups on an end cap at WalMart - a friend of mine said they had been nead the registers at first - I didn't see them!!! Hope you can find them!!!

Off to work I go!!! :headache:

Evening! Just got back from a meeting about our oldest DD taking a college credit class her Sr. year in High School. Of all things, calculus. :confused3 I hate math. Barely passed Algebra for my graduation credit and she is in calculus. It is great, don't get me wrong, but she didn't get her math capabilites from me! :rotfl:

And so it begins. All the fun stuff of trying to figure out the college thing. Any suggestions?

Hi Chris. I remember applying to colleges like it was yesterday. I do not know why. :confused3 Maybe it was because I was so anxious about applying early. By the time my senior year rolled around, I had a list of colleges that I was going to apply to and by Christmas I knew where I would be going. So, my advice would be to have DD pick out the colleges in which she is interested based on location, size, atmosphere, course offerings, etc. If she has not already started receiving information packets from different colleges and universites, then go to the website and ask that information be sent. Review the application requirements. Start thinking about which teachers she is going to ask to give references. Then visit the colleges by scheduling campus tours with the recruitment offices. Once she narrows doen the colleges that she wants to apply to, then of course complete the application and mail it. Some colleges/universities have an online application process. Also, check when your state's deadline is to submit the FAFSA (free application for federal student aid) but also see if the college/university has a suggested deadline. The main thing is do not stress. Tell your DD to enjoy her senior year (but not too much ;)). Hope this helps.

i got all my fe gifts done now i just have to make the bags i need to put them in. i feel like i will never get it all done in time

Thank you all for the pixie dust and get well wishes. My goal is to work hard in therapy and rest enough so that my arm and shoulder are recovered by Animal Kingdom!! We've never stayed there and we are booked before and after the cruise so we can't wait!
Thanks also for the Anniversary thoughts. We went out to dinner and then were too tired after playing with the babies to go to the concert as we had originally intended. How old are we feeling??? We need to get more pixie dust at Disney and restore our youth!!
I think someone is keeping a button list for me and I'm starting them next week so if you have a list, let me know. I can't wait to meet you all!!
Counting the days!!

hi are we supposed to give our names for buttons?

Chris - another college thought - apply for any and ALL scholarships - there is a website http://www.fastweb.com/ that you can enter her major and area and they will bring up all the availible scholarships. I was one of those people who knew which school I wanted to go to so I only applied there - fortunately they took me!!;) BUT because I was the first one in my family to go to college we were REALLY in the dark about cost, financial aid and all that.....so check out the site - money is always good!!!

Today is going to be a crazy day - DH is usually off on Wed AM but his counterpart is on vacation so he has to work all day - I work all day and then DD3 has her preschool orientation tonight and I have to be there (I'm president of the parent/teacher group) so I have to run home feed them, get everything ready for tonight, THEN they have appts for back to school hair cuts - not looking forward to today!!!!

GOOD MORNING, LOOKS LIKE RAIN HERE, FINALLY!!!:cool1:EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT SCHOOL. YOUR SCHOOLS START EARLIER THAN OURS RIGHT. OURS DONT START UNTIL AFTER LABOUR DAY.:rotfl:

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

OMG, we are so far behind the curve. I would love to talk to you on the cruise about all this stuff.

I'm sure everything will work out fine. I just saw something on our school's website about a week set aside (in a couple of weeks) that focuses on the high school kids focusing on their college choices. So, I don't think you're behind.
