Hi Chris. I remember applying to colleges like it was yesterday. I do not know why.

Maybe it was because I was so anxious about applying early. By the time my senior year rolled around, I had a list of colleges that I was going to apply to and by Christmas I knew where I would be going. So, my advice would be to have DD pick out the colleges in which she is interested based on location, size, atmosphere, course offerings, etc. If she has not already started receiving information packets from different colleges and universites, then go to the website and ask that information be sent. Review the application requirements. Start thinking about which teachers she is going to ask to give references. Then visit the colleges by scheduling campus tours with the recruitment offices. Once she narrows doen the colleges that she wants to apply to, then of course complete the application and mail it. Some colleges/universities have an online application process. Also, check when your state's deadline is to submit the FAFSA (free application for federal student aid) but also see if the college/university has a suggested deadline. The main thing is do not stress. Tell your DD to enjoy her senior year (but not too much

). Hope this helps.
