Happy Anniversary to Sonia and Tony!!! for a speedy recovery!! And if you are able we also would still LOVE pins!! Are you sure you can do them one handed??? What does the doctor say about recovery time??

Ian - yes it has stopped raining here, for the time being. We are supposed to get some more later this week.

Shoes - well DH has a pair of boat shoes (I think that is what you call them) that he wears with his khaki's to dinner. They look just fine. However, he would take his black dress shoes if we were going to go to Palo. So, IMHO, as long as they aren't tennis shoes or flip flops, you should be fine. Even nice sandals I think would work. Oops, I just looked and he is also taking a casual pair of black shoes to wear to dinner. Hope this helps.

good morning since we are talking about shoes make sure you take something to wear on the beach in the water if your going to serenity bay. We always take beach shoes and i wear my old crocks.

I HAVE A QUESTION, WE HAVE DONE MANY DISNEY CRUISES, THIS WILL BE OUR FIRST TRIP DOING THE PALO BRUNCH. CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE DRESS CODE.

OH WHAT IF WE PAINTED OUR FEET BLACK TIED BLACK STRING AROUND OUR ANKLES, WOULD THEY PASS AS FORMAL SHOES. JUST THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE MORE COMFORTABLE!!!

Size 13! Wow! Just be sure to pack his socks and underwear inside of the shoes to save on space in the suitcase.

No Kidding. The bottom is very rough and sharp out at Serenity Bay. I could not even walk out there if I didn't have my water shoes on. And last year a guy we were with stepped on a sea urchin and had little things stuck in his foot. Ouch! In fact, if I don't have my shoes, I won't walk out in the water at all.

I got most of my FEs done today - just a few more to finish up. Got some packing done too. Here is a crazy question - since I was not thinking about DHs needing dress pants for dinner - do the men wear dress shoes??? I need help - someone needs to pack for me - or at least tell me everything to do!!!

I have always just worn my nice Sandals (Leather) with my Dockers or worn my Leather docker shoes with no socks with the Docker Pants. Now if you are doing Palo you may need something a little dressier.

I finally have had the opportunity to read all the posts that I missed over the weekend. You have been a chatty bunch. We had a wonderful time at the BBQs. One was a block party with a moon bounce, face painting, cotton candy, and popcorn. Each house chose whether to BBQ or not. My cousin did and also celebrated her DD's 2nd birthday. Then we went over to my sister's house to celebrate her DS's 3rd birthday. We drove all over Philly. By the time we got back to my parents' house, we were exhausted.

Ok. I can barely contain my excitement so I am going to share it here since only fellow Disers would understand the other day I posted that we made ressies for NYE and also my b-day (the 1st). DH asked where I wanted to eat on my B-day. I told him that I had made ressies for Tutto Italia. He asked if that was where I really wanted to eat for my B-day. I said it was fine but if I could eat anywhere I would want to try the new Queen's Room at Victoria and Alberts. He said to go for it! Well they only have 4 tables so I figured it would be a slim chance. They had one table for two available on my birthday I am so excited we get to go!!!!

Wow, I've been away for several months and I had hundreds of pages to read and then find a new thread! You guys have been SO BUSY! I had no idea Disboards would be like this. This is so cool. We've been a bit busy ourselves. We have a new baby- due last week... Born in May.. just a bit early. It's really my granddaughter, but since they live only 3 miles away, we live the drama. We have a 15 month granddaughter by the same daughter so two babies has been quite fun. We are REALLY ready for the cruise. It will be hard to be away and at Disney with the rest of the family but we also can't wait for a break. In the midst of all the fun, my DH and I were being pulled behind the boat by a "friend" who decided we should jump bigger waves on the tube and we crashed into each other. My DH's head hit my shoulder. 6 weeks later, my arm is still broken. So I'm learning to type a little slower now. However, all that being explained, I'm still planning to make buttons for those that want them! I have the supplies and some ideas for the design. I luckily had all my FE gifts completed before we started with the baby in May so we're ready for 11 days of Disney and cruising!! Woo hoo!!

DH is a die hard Steelers and Penguins fan. In addition he will watch ANY football, golf, tennis, soccer....and he enjoys golfing.

We went out for dinner tonight - spaghetti last night - DH NEEDED wings!!After we stopped at WalMart for a few things and found these awesome cups - they look like fast food drink cups, lid straw and all 0 but are made of hard plastic with a locking lid and a silicone grip. $5 in a variety of colors and they have a built in mixer/stir thingy on the straw. After reading Marsha's tip about having a wide mouth cup to take beverages back to the room we were looking for something and these are perfect....we each got a different color. I am going back next week because they also have them for hot beverages!!!! I NEED my coffee and DH loves hot tea!!!!

I am an Eagles fan. I will not say a diehard one though. I just route for my home team.
Great find on the cups. I wonder if our local Walmart has any.

Does anyone know about how many CM are in the Oceanears Club? I would like to purchase phone cards for them as a thank you since my DGD will be in there.

Terrie so envious The Queen Room-wow. We love V&A especially the coffee pot they put on your table! It's really something watching the coffee brew-I know how boring watching coffee brew!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Coffee lovers would appreciate it. My DH and I will be going to the Food & Wine Festival maybe I'll try to surprise him with ressies there-if possible.

I am not sure about how many CMs are in the clubs. The ratios, as posted on the DCL website, are:
Disney's Oceaneer Club counselor-to-child ratio is:

1:15 for children ages 3 to 4
1:25 for children ages 5 to 12

1:15 for children ages 3 to 4
1:25 for children ages 5 to 12

I am bringing candy and some other stuff for the counselors since each country has different calling card rates.

DH took 3 pair of shoes last year, flip flops, black shoes, & water shoes. I was the crazy one with too many shoes and clothes.

Oh boy, there's another thing I haven't thought of, shoes for DH Of course, just yesterday he told me we'd need an entire suitcase just for the shoes I am bringing Now I gotta worry about his shoes. Looking forward to the answer on this one. I was going to pack him some casual non dress shoes but that aren't sneakers either for the optional dress up night. Oh boy, I need to really start thinking about packing...YIKES!

My DH wears I size 14 which was one of the reasons for the limited amount of shoes.

Palo brunch is less formal than Palo dinner. There is still the no shorts rule. You will be fine in a pair of slacks and polo shirt. No tie or jacket is needed.

Evening! Just got back from a meeting about our oldest DD taking a college credit class her Sr. year in High School. Of all things, calculus. I hate math. Barely passed Algebra for my graduation credit and she is in calculus. It is great, don't get me wrong, but she didn't get her math capabilites from me!

And so it begins. All the fun stuff of trying to figure out the college thing. Any suggestions?

well back to work tomorrow. Been in last week for athletics but teachers report tomorrow. Been working 6am-9pm so I am very very very far behind in my reading. was trying to catch up tonight and bang thread closed and now that I have found the new one don't know if I will catch up.

Thanks for the bd wishes for hope. She and the kids are at the beach for the last hurrah before school. I will pass on the wishes. Ok back to reading.
