I was going to wait until it was official, but I can't keep quiet anymore!! I went on an interview at The Disney Store today!

I am a FREQUENT shopper in the store and two of the employees live in the same city as I do, so when I stopped in there the other day the one employee (who's kids go to the same school as my kids go), told me they have an opening for a part time position. So I not so calmly told her that I wanted it! :rotfl: I got called in for an interview and it sounds like they can't officially hire me until the background check comes in. She never said the words "you're hired", but the rest of the conversation made it seem like it was just the technicality of waiting for the background check.

I'm really excited, except I haven't had to work a second job in over 15 years and I'm kind of scared to give up my "free" time. But, it's THE DISNEY STORE! And we're spending $400 a month for therapy for my daughter now, so I NEED the extra income!

So, how was YOUR Monday? :goodvibes

Here is an unofficial CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! That is exciting to be working at a Disney Store. Hope everything works out for you. :wizard:

WOO HOO!!! Congratulations ...unofficially:thumbsup2

My Monday was a tad bit frantic. We checked the weather for Disney this weekend and it looks like it will be cold (for us) so DH asked me pick up some leather gloves for both of us. Well wouldn't you know it there is NOT one store that still has gloves down here :headache: I found some online and am hoping they arrive before we leave Friday morning. Other than that it was a great Monday because now we are down to 4 more "sleeps" until Disney :cool1:

Terrie :)

4 more sleeps. . . .YIPPEEEEEEEE! How exciting for you. How long will you be there and where are you staying?

CONGRATS! :cheer2: We do not have a Disney Store near us. I think the nearest one is almost two hours away. :sad2:

My Monday did not go as planned. I wanted to visit some clients but instead I had to stay in the office organizing my paperwork. I really could do without all the paperwork. I need a vacation!

4 more sleeps! So jealous. Have a great time!

:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay: I am so jealous!! Our closest store is over an hour drive. Beware you may not leave with much of a paycheck - at least I wouldn't!!!!

Monday- spent almost an hour attempting to shovel the driveway some more - so tired of snow - but we went out to dinner and that was nice considering we haven't really been anywhere because of the snow!!!
No more snow. Say it with me - no more snow.

Terrie - now I'm wishing I could jump in your suitcase - oh wait I would settle for house sitting - since you are in FL!!!!!

Marsha - no more snow - no more snow - NO MORE SNOW!!!! I really do need to move to FL - if not for our parents - I would really go now!!!!

Happy Birthday to all in March - thank you from all of us for DD who will turn 3!!! No more free entry at WDW!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:We still have APs so I am going to have to buy her a ticket for our trip in 39 days!!!!!:cool1::cool1:

And a happy anniversary early to Marsha and Corey - and a big thank you to Marsha for all your organizing and recognizing all of our special days!!!

Thank you! I sure hope you get your gloves before Friday. If not, you can always buy some DISNEY gloves...I remember buying some really cute ones at HS (well when it was MGM)

LOL I was thinking the same thing...I have to be really careful with my shopping habits otherwise I'll just be working there to shop! LOL

I'm sorry you're still dealing with so much snow! Hopefully March is nicer to you than February was where snow is concerned!

GOOD MORNING I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT STROLLERS, AND INCASE YOUR WONDERING ITS NOT TO PUSH ME AROUND :rotfl2: HOW MUCH ARE THEY AND WHEN YOU LEAVE THEM IN THE STROLLER PARKING AREAS HOW DO YOU TELL YOURS FROM ALL THE REST. DO YOU GET THEM AT TRAIN STATION AREA OF MK. WE WILL HAVE 6 YEAR OLD SHE MAY TIRED . IS IT A PAIN TRYING TO FIND PARKING FOR THE STROLLER IF YOU WANT TO STOP IN DIFFERENT ATTRACTIONS OR IF YOU WANT TO GO IN A RESTAURANT WHERE DO YOU LEAVE STROLLER.
ONLY 1 WEEK TO GO AND I WILL HERE :worship:WELCOME HOME:worship:

Ian - here is a link regarding stroller rentals:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/tips_for_touring/StrollerRental.htm

When you rent the stroller, they will give you a name tag to put in a plastic sleeve on the stroller. That's how you know your stroller from someone elses. You cannot take the strollers out of the parks, you turn them in at the park's exit. There are "stroller parking" areas outside the restaurants and all the attractions. And, CM's are constantly moving the strollers around as they come and go, so your stroller may not always be right where you left it, but it will be close by.

Terrie :)

HI TERRIE,
I NOTICED YOU WENT ON SEGWAY TOUR AT FW HOW LONG IS IT AND IS IT OFF ROAD AND HOW MUCH. MY DS AND I DID THE OFFROAD SEGWAY WHILE ON A REGULAR DISNEY CRUISE IN NASSAU. WE HAD A GREAT TIME. WHIPPING AROUND TIGHT TURNS AND NARROW PATHS AND EVEN NO HANDS. OVER MOGULS TOO!!!!!!
I HANDLED SEGWAY REALLY WELL ITS FAIRLY EASY. FUNNY STORY THOU, HALFWAY THRU THEY HAVE A REST AREA AND THERE IS A SMALL MOGUL COURSE THERE. YOU CAN GIVE YOUR CAMERA TO THE GUIDE TO TAKE YOUR PHOTO GOING OVER MOGULS. DS HAD HIS PHONE SO THE GUIDE SHOT SHORT VIDEO OF THE BOTH OF US. I WAS BEHIND HIM ON MOGULS. EVERYTHING WAS FINE UNTIL I GOT ABOUT 6 FEET BEHIND HIM. I FLEW OVER MOGUL AND ACTUALLY WAS ABOUT 2 FEET IN THE AIR, DOESNT SOUND LIKE MUCH BUT ON A SEGWAY THATS LIKE A MILE:rotfl2: I LANDED WRONG TRYInG TO AVOID MY SON, THE SEGWAY FLEW UP ON TOP OF ME WHILE I WAS STILL HANGING ON. ITS LIKE HANGING ONTO A MOVING FLOOR SANDER. THE GUIDE COME RUNNING OVER TO SEE IF I WAS OK. :rotfl2: I WAS IN PAIN BUT BECAUSE I FELT STUPID I TOLD HER I WAS FINE:rotfl2: IT WAS ALL CAUGHT ON THE VIDEO PHONE INCLUDING WHEN THE GUIDE CAME RUNNING OVER TO ME. MY DS PUT IT ON HIS FACEBOOK SITE. I TOLD MY DW SHE MIGHT HAVE TO GO SEADOOING AT CC THE NEXT DAY WITH DS I WAS IN PAIN. BUT STUPID ME PAIN AND ALL THE NEXT DAY( hurt to sit) WENT SEADOOING OUT PAST THE DOCKED SHIP AT CC NEVER BEEN ON A SEADOO BEFORE. THERE WERE TIMES WHEN I WAS FLYING ALONG AND CATCHING A WAVE AND FLYING 8 FEET OUT OF THE WATER HANGING ON FOR DEAR LIFE:rotfl2: LANDING BACK ON MY BUTT HARD. I HAD BRUISES ON TOP OF BRUISES.
AFTER SAYING aLL THAT I HAD A BALL.:rotfl2:

Good Morning Everyone!

Terrie - your trip sounds like it will be a blast! We are also going to be trying Sanaa on our upcoming trip. I will be anxious to hear how you liked it. And the rest of the trip sounds eventful too! Since we are staying at the Wilderness Lodge, what is the Segway tour at Ft Wilderness? I know our oldest DD would love to do something like that. Three more sleeps!!!! :yay:

DVC deernut - Ahhhhhh, the days of the strollers. It has been a long time since we have had to use one, but they were a god send when the kids were younger. It does seem as if the cost has gone up quite a bit since we were renting them. Almost seems cheaper to buy an umbrella stroller when you get there instead of renting one. We saw people doing this last time we were there and it saved them money in the long run. Even if they didn't take the stroller home with them. So, just another idea for your to ponder. :rolleyes1

Have a great day everyone!!!!!

Good morning everyone! I am writing from my crackberry so I can't multiquote.

Debbie - UPS tracking says my gloves will come in today so my panic attack is officially over! Whew!!!

Ian - we have done both the Ft. Wilderness and Epcot segways in the past. Don't remember how long the Ft. Wilderness one was though. It's been about 2 years. It did seem longer than the Epcot one though. It sounds like you had a heck of an adventure!!! Glad you came out of it with only minor injuries. I doubt I will go in the ocean unless it is an area that is secured from the local underwater residents. I am terrified of the ocean...there be creatures with teeth in them waters (said in my best pirate voice).

Chris - segway at Ft. Wilderness is an off road Segway tour and is lots of fun. We have dined at Sanaa before and enjoy the food very much. Seeing the animals from your table is a great bonus if you can get a window seat!

Marsha - No more snow, no more snow :-)

Terrie :)

Thank you & you're welcome. I appreciated all the work the organizers of last year's thread did and wanted to do the same for this cruise. I really enjoy organizing this. It is so much fun getting to know everyone.

Sure the stroller is not for you. Since DS, we have taken our own stroller which I prefer. The Disney strollers are hard plastic. DS is used to his stroller. We have a lightweight stroller which folds easily. It is similar to an umbrella stroller but much sturdier and it had a basket underneath. I wrapped a colorful scarf around the stroller and another around the some other part of the stroller to help identify it since CMs sometimes move the strollers. The stroller was always easy to find though. As Chris mentioned, there is stroller parking for the rides and restaurants.

Once again, great pictures. :thumbsup2

This is a picture that Chris took on last year's members cruise that I found posted on another thread. I had to post it here. Chris, I hope you do not mind. It is such a great shot of Minnie. DS loves her.

dvc deernut - another option is renting a stroller from MagicStrollers - they are the sister to Owners Locker and we used them on our last trip. The strollers are GREAT and my DD who was 5 1/2 fit comfortably - she is VERY tall - 52" and about 51 lbs - we got it for DD2 but when both got tired DH opted to carry the little one and stroll the big one. We find with the big one it is the trips out of the park to the buses or parking lot that has her needing a ride and renting one allowed us to be stroller free in the airport :thumbsup2!!!They were very reasonable - I think about $56 for the whole week - delivered and picked up to any resort (WDW or the area around)!!!

Feel free to hop in the suitcase  You are welcome to house sit too. I hope you like dogs though, we have quite a few, plus one cat that can catch and retrieve. I think he has an identity crisis due to living with a bunch of retrievers :lmao:

Happy Birthdays and Anniversaries to all who are having special days in March. Let me echo the THANK YOU!!!! to Marsha for always recognizing our special days

Wow! :thumbsup2 What a great option. I'm sure we would have done that if it had been offered back when we needed a stroller.

I hope the weather cooperates while you're there and that you won't actually need the gloves after all. But, you know how the saying goes: "A cold day at Disney is better than a warm day at home!" :goodvibes
