Marsha-Do we "tip" the staff in the oceaneers club? Hope are dining tables are near each other that would be fun. I read to bring goodies if we are going to drop off something to have the characters sign it ex: pillowcases.
We broke another heat record yesterday, today should be 1 degree cooler!!!

You tip with other stuff, not money since staff in the OC are not tipped positions. I read they would just pool the money together for a party. So, candy is usually what they receive.

When you drop your pillowcase or photo mat off at Guest Services, you can leave some candy in the bag with the sharpie(s). Don't forget to specify if you want all of the characters, just princesses, the Fab 5, etc.

When we meet up at the DIS meet or in the terminal, we have to look at our Key to the World Card to see what tables we will be at.

We broke records at our airports (National, Baltimore, & Dulles). We had a heat index of up to 113 degrees. It was hot, hot, hot. We are under a heat advisory today. At least it is not a heat warning like we had yesterday.

Wow, you guys have been busy on here this morning!! Congrats on the :bride: & pirate:

:banana::banana::banana:

49 days!!!!

:banana::banana::banana:

I usually start a countdown to our trips about 40 days out - with movies to watch and games - WE LOVE disney bingo!!! The girls get a kick out of tearing each sheet off to see what the disney to do of the day is!!! I better get working on that!!!

We LOVE Disney Bingo, too!! We bought it a couple years ago when we hosted a DCL House Party. That was a BLAST! We made "hidden mickey" brownies and rice crispy treats, we had the house decorated with ship themed decorations, we had the "scene setters" of a beach in our foyer hallway. Unfortunately, nobody in our party really shared our enthusiasm for DCL (except my mother in law...we took her on a cruise for her 50th bday). We're still trying to convert our family to Disney enthusiasts, but it's not an easy task.! :confused3

Good Morning Nikki and Ian!

I don't think it is too early for a bit of rum? Do you guys??? It's gotta be 5 o'clock somehwere :rotfl2:

28 bottles of rum on the wall...

Um...it was past 5 o'clock in my dream. I was having that @#$% nightmare again that I had left everything at home. (FE gifts, camera, etc) And, this time it was already dinner time on the ship!! The last dream/nightmare we were at the port checking in and hadn't boarded the ship yet. Oh, I sure hope I don't have these dreams/nightmares any more! It really stresses me out!

I will miss the sailaway party- I am going with my sister to see Hairspray this afternoon. Maybe next week!!!

Oh how fun! Enjoy the show! I've NEVER been to a show like that except for on DCL.

WE ARE HAVING BBQ AT FRIENDS AND CELEBRATING LAURAS BIRTHDAY.:cool1:

Have fun at the BBQ!!!

I've heard that the staff in the oceaneers club (and anywhere else on the ship) love to get calling cards and chocolate candy.

Thank you and what a great idea - calling cards - I will have to get a few!!!

I read on one of the threads that calling cards used to be very appreciated. However, now that most people have cell phones with calling plans for their specific countries calling cards are not that popular.

Debbie - I had never been to anything like that either until about 2 yrs ago - my 2 younger sisters are really into theater stuff - my youngest DSis is VERY talented - directing, singing, acting, instruments, art - she amazes me!!! Anyway - WICKED was coming to Pittsburgh - when they had taken their school trip to NY it was during the strike and they were not able to use the tickets they had - both were SOOO disappointed. Anyways - DH and I decided to take them and we both fell in love with the theater - DH is a music fanatic. This year the series includes Mary Poppins - one of DD6s favorites so we are going to take her since she has the acting/singing bug also!!!

Hairspray is one of my favorite movies (the 1988 version with Ricki Lake) so I can't wait to see today's show!!!

OHHHH of course.........so chocolate then?? Like candy bars???

Oh boy were you all busy this morning. I was on then started to work outside and forgot all about the count. Congrats on getting the :bride: and pirate: this morning.

Well, it is official, the hanging bag is up in the living room and DH and the youngest DD have already started packing their clothes for the cruise! :dance3:

Oh, I just remembered an item that I pack for "Must Pack Items" for the cruise and that would be a hair towel. Now, don't laugh, but all the towels on the ship or in hotel rooms, etc., are just way to big and thick to wrap around my hair, so I pack a lightweight smaller one that I use for my hair after showering. I just hang it up after use and it is dry for the next time I need it. It is just a must pack for me. :flower3:

Oh! Well then nevermind my suggestion of calling cards! :goodvibes Didn't even think about the fact that most of them probably do have international cell phones now that the rate plans are much cheaper than they used to be. So, I guess that leaves candy!! And I'm sure after dealing with kids all day and all night would call for lots of CHOCOLATE candy. :rotfl2:

So I saw the picture of Ian's plant that is right outside of the Buzz Lightyear ride. It took me several minutes to stop laughing :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: It does call to mind thoughts of "other things" but it's only a plant (I think some sort of palm) and it is in WDW. I think Ian should share the picture with everyone but that is just my opinion.

Terrie :)

OK TERRIE SAID I SHOULD POST THIS!!!!:rotfl2:Laura and I were standing in line for Buzz Lightyear. I said Laura notice anything funny about that plant. She laughed. Well, will anyone else admit to seeing this plant:rotfl2: What is it?

Snicker, snort :lmao: yes, I might as well be 12 :rotfl2: I am trying to imagine what landscaper/horticulturalist saw this plant and thought, Oh that fits right into the theme of family friendly in WDW let's put one in front of the Buzz Lightyear que

I am going to ask my SIL. She knows a lot about plants.

Hope everyone else has warped mind!!!!:rotfl2:The line snaked back and forth around this tree, couldnt stop laughing. Maybe i will print this and frame it for centre piece at a certain dinner table on ship late dinning near our table. Oh wait that table includes 4 couples from here:rotfl2:

OK my SIL just wrote back. I knew she'd know, her Master's is in Botany. I am copying and pasting exactly what she wrote

Common name is screwpine. Botanical name is Pandanus utilis.

It looks like the palm in the background is a Lady Palm (Rhapis excelsa) and cardboard zamia (Zamia furfuracea) and wart fern in the front (Polypodium scolopendria).

Well of course it's called a screwpine...why would it be called anything else :rotfl2:

The big ship has moved out of the way and now you can see the front end of the Wonder. In seven weeks, we will be on the Wonder. Some with drinks in have, some at the live sail away party, and some in their favorite spots where ever that may be. I cannot wait.
