09/08/07 Early Check in September 8, 2007 Western

WE GOT OUR DOCS TODAY!!! :cool1:  :cool1:

Okay, I can officially start packing! Only 11 more days to go. I can't believe I waited this long! Of course half my family room and bathroom down there has no floor, nor my garage, but they are coming tomorrow to pore the cement. Still won't have a bathroom when we leave, but at least we can get it going when we get back!

I've got to get everything in order. Can you guys believe it is almost here? It's going to seem to unreal. I've got butterflies in the tummy (or is that still that stupid virus?) :confused3 and I can't concentrate on anything! I've got so much to get done. I think I better get busy! :rolleyes1

Fltink, could you please explain who the "he who must not be named" in your picture is? Please solve the mystery for those of us on the outside. :flower3: I'm going to try and post a bigger picture of the family. I have a favorite from our Wonder cruise 3 years ago. Of course the girls are older (and prettier), but I just love the picture. See you guys soon.

The curly-dark haired girl is my DD Kelly when she was 9, next is me, Renee, then DH Jim, and DD Maria when she was 12. This was our first Disney Cruise with the kids and it was on the Disney Wonder in June of 2004. DH is holding his "bucket of beer".!

Tux? Isn't that what penguins wear? I will have to check the Tommy Bahama catalog, see if they even make a tux...........

In the land of tourists, it is very hard to get formal, very few occasions that I need to. Of course the servers at Victoria and Albert's look at me funny if I show up in 'normal' attire, I therefore have a suit (or 6).

Donita will not allow me to wear a camp shirt under the suit, I am forced to button up a shirt AND put on a tie. My resolution to this was to ensure that I pick out (and purchase) the outfit that she has to wear. If you see us on one of the formal nights, let me know what you think of her attire.

Hope all is well-

Too funny! :rotfl2:

Good morning all!

One day closer!!!!!!!! I am fully afflicted with cruise fever, which keeps me in a state of constant delirium. Work, what's that? :lmao:

Congrats on your wedding McDuck...how exciting!

Yes, I too am looking forward to that stollen bread from Palo.

I started loosely packing, as in, throwing a few things in the suitcase and assembling all the bits & pieces like sunscreen, medicines, etc. But I have time, I don't fly out until Fri. Sept. 7.

Being a grandparent is awesome. Having a third is exciting but it does mean more b-day gifts and christmas gifts and I don't have more money. But we will make due. Already attempting to plan the first cruise for this new little one. Hopfully some time in 2011. Right now we only have 4 day before we leave. I can't believe it is this close. 4 days

:goodvibes 3 grand kids WOW!!Hey My mother has 17 grand kids and ua..4 GREAT grand kids. SO I hope this helps you both breath better.
Also, You gals are great Grandmothers from what we have seen and heard. You gals and your daughters family have our prayers through this time.
Now just go through the days counting hours til you Fly out to DIS and await us on ship.. :lmao: :cool2: :woohoo:

I thought going formal was wearing topsiders to dinner instead of sandals...;)

Tux, isn't that something kinda personal that you get at the pharmacy?

Picking out something for DW to wear... :scared1: You're a brave brave man! I gave up on getting clothes for DW and DD's a few years ago after I joiined the "frequent returns" club:lmao: even with her pointing to the ad and saying "I want this" I can manage to get it wrong:rolleyes1

I once purchased a swimsuit for my partner without her being present... and it fit! I think that's my most impressive clothes shopping story.

I don't really care for formal clothes either. I like to be casual all the time. :cloud9:

Who me? You think I'm counting. You bet I am. Can not wait. Have almost everything ready to go. Plan to pack the car Friday night and leave for airport at about 4 AM on Saturday. It will be here before I know it. Lois

Ok, "He Who Must Not Be Named".....it's kind of a running joke with in the Self Party Posse. See, on my wedding cruise, we needed a rommate for my friend, David (you know how Disney charges you almost double the rate if you book as a single), so after unsuccessfully calling all of my friends, I reconnected with this friend who I hadn't seen in ages, let's call him "Bob". To my surprise he was totally willing and able to come on the cruise, which, at the time, we thought was a great thing since it meant that David would not miss my wedding. Well, bringing "Bob" turned out to be a bad move. He talked ot his girlfriend on his cell phone during my whole wedding ceremony! Then when we got back on the ship to go to dinner (our 'reception'), he never showed up. He said he couldn't find us and then he just decided to go to bed. I mean, HELLO, it says where dinner is right on your room key!!!!! On top of all that, he had appauling manners at meals and embarassed us by grabbing the ketchup bottle out of our server's hand and showing him how to "whack the '57'" on formal night. So after that day, we spent the trip pretty much ignoring one another and he has henceforth become "He Who Must Not Be Named".

Am I the only one who actually ENJOYS dressing up on formal night? I mean, I dress as nicely as possible without looking too our of place EVERY night! Hell, I wore a wedding gown to casual night in Parrot Cay! :) Then again, I AM a very girly girl and I love my high heels and make up. Give me formal night every night!

hmmmm so when you make plans now the phrase "What about Bob?" must pop into mind...:rotfl:

I would have been appalled! What a jerk. Isn't it amazing how people change? But, at least you guys can look back on it and laugh and tease. I'm sure it was a downer at the time though.:scared:

and ch10dad, you are too freakin' funny! What about Bob? :lmao: :rotfl2:

Nope, I enjoy dressing up as well. I bought a beautiful long dress with sequins on it, and shoes that have matching sequins! I grew up in an old-style Italian family; you always had to dress to the nines for holidays, church, weddings, funerals, etc. Always had to have matching accessories, matching jacket to your outfit in cooler weather, dress gloves, hats, etc. I'm a girlie girl to an extent. I'm old and fat now, so the high heels thing doesn't last more than a couple hours, then it's back to the flats and flipflops. But, I do like the occassions to dress up. I actually bought a few really pretty outfits for dinners on the cruise. Why not? How often do I get to do this?

I can't believe Donita allowed you to pick out her clothes! I hope you have good taste, and let's say "queer eye for the straight...er....wife"! I would NEVER allow my DH to pick out my clothes. Good Lord, he'd have me wearing thigh high nylons with some skimpy outfit I wouldn't even think of wearing in the dark! Well, good luck Donita; hope he's got sophisticated taste!

"whack the '57'" on formal night.

Of course there is a lot that could be said... but I'll be good and only address the "57" part... Has anyone tried to make a "Mickey" out of ketchup on a plate like the servers do?:upsidedow

"He Who Must Not Be Named" AKA "BOB"...when he wasn't annoying the heck out of fltink, he managed to latch on to Christine and I. He made lewd comments to us during Disney Dreams and then we had to be witness to his karaoke singing and endless hours of talking about his girlfriend. He wasn't a bad person mind you, just a little offbeat. It was like he'd go through phases, which probably had to do with how much he was drinking. It's like having a weirdo family member, you know, there's always one!
