09/08/07 Early Check in September 8, 2007 Western

Some folk do and others don't. You get a bandana for your head at dinner that night. It is up to each person if they want to spend the money. I bought the stuff to sew the costumes but don't know if I will have the time to put them together. This will be our fourth cruise and it would be the first time to dress up. So it is completely up to you. The time I think your girls will enjoy is dressing up for formal night. You can either get them a fancy dress or some girls wear princess costumes to dinner. Lois
We will dress up fancy :thumbsup2 Also they have Dis. princess costumes. princess: Dressing up is so fun to do fun to do pirate: will start working on pirate costumes

Yes... I just surfed the internet this weekend for costume Ideas. From yahoo.com search for Pirate costumes. You will find ideas from those pictures. Then mix and match from your closet, stores near by etc. :cutie:

My Passporter arrived today, I just can't wait for this cruise. Only wish my DFi could be here to help me plan. So glad he trusts me!!! :)

Been awhile since anyone has posted. Hope this fines everyone doing well. I am home from work not feeling up to snuff. I think it is just a cold but can't seem to shake it so I thought I would take some time off.

And yes we are one day closer. Can't wait to meet every one and have an awesome Disney time. Lois

I'm recovering from cataract surgery. Things are good. Its only been 1 week for the right eye. I can't believe that by time we cruise I will be able to walk the decks, sit on the balcony and SEE without glasses. I'll only need glasses for close-up. I want results now but the surgeon said, give it a little more time.

I had lasix and it was well worth it. You do need to give it time. Nice to see without the glasses. I was told that I have the very beginnings of Cataracts when I had my surgery so I guess I know what I can look forward to. Lois

Lois,
I read you guys were at POFQ, well then we will be neighbors (sort of) we are at POR, I got the bus times wrong, they will be picking us up at 12 noon the CM told me. I think we will all be picked up together unless you are going earlier. We are trying to debate weather or not to fly in on the 4th or 5th. Airline tix are not for sale yet, but if we fly the 5th we will only get to go in the parks for about 3 hours that night. (We got a 7 + hour flight to Orlando) If I can take a half day at work on the 4th we can do 3 full days in the park. I don't know what do you think? I'm still hoping for free dining there have been rumors!!!!! Has anyone picked excursions yet? I was wondering if anyone has chose the same one's as us.

Oh and before I forget to ask.... Anyone going with any boys between 7 -10? My DS8 is trying to make friends before he boards. Hahaha, he's worried about who he will play with in the Oceaneer Lab.

I'm going with two nine year girls. They might like to play together.

We are going to the Butterfly Farm in Key West, The Shipwreak and Reef Snorkel in Grand Caymen and to Tulum in Cosumel. On Castaway we are going to do the Stingray and Snorkel off the beach.

We are being picked up to go to the ship at 11:45 or noon I don't remember which. I would come in early if you can. We arrive on 9/1, my sister and her grils are joining us on 9/3. I made are dinner reservations today. It just keeps getting closer and closer. It is going to be so much fun. Lois

Oh good. He will love to hear there is kids his age. That age group is put together in the lab. O.k. we are doing the pirate museum on Key West (DS is huge pirate fan), On Grand Cayman we are doing a semisub, on Cozumel we are doing the Dolphin swim, and on Castaway Cay we are doing a boat ride, and renting snorkel equipment, I'm not to sure about the boat though, they offer a few different things as you know, I haven't decided for Castaway Cay yet. I know my Dh and I want to do Palo one night in celebration of our 10 year anniversary, and we will send DS to the lab for the evening, I'm trying to create us a date night. Our whole thing with the cruise is besides the 10 year anniversary, to sort of break out and do some things we have never done before. I want to do the night clubs on the date night. I'm researching. I'm gonna call tomorrow to see if a bus comes soner to pick us up from POR. Noon seems sort of late I guess. Do you know anything about the excursions we've picked? Are they worth the $$$?

Nope we havent done any of those excursions... but they do sound fun.
At CC we have the the famous "nothing" on most trips and the other trips we do the hike and kayak, and spend the rest of the time snorkling at SB. We have also done the seahorse snorkle... fun!
There are so many nice excurtions to chose from... I dont think Disney would toss in a crumby excurtion.

Im so looking foward to this vacation... it's been long time coming:rolleyes1

We have done the dolphins and had a blast, you should enjoy that. The others sound like they would be fun as well. I might recomend doing the stingray encouter on Castaway. It is very safe and really fun to see them up close. We did that on our last cruise and plan to do it a time or two more. If there are concerns about the stinger they are kept trimmed. They are like our fingernails and that staff just cut them off in much the same way we cut our nails.

As far as getting to the ship I think noon will be soon enough. They serve lunch until 2 or 2:30 and you can't get to your rooms until 1:30. So I thought we would go swimming in the AM and get a snack before going to the port and enjoy the bus ride. It shouldn't take too long to get us checked in and on the ship, then drop off the bags and go to lunch. I think the ride on the Magic coach will be worth getting to the port just a little later than I am used to. There is a transport that you can hire if you chose that may be less cost but I think it will lose some of the magic. We should get to the port before 1PM and be on board sometime arount 1:30. Just in time to go to the room and then to lunch. Lois

We might change it over on Castaway Cay to the stingrays. We have been back and forth on it. I know it sounds crazy but DH wants no part of it because of what happened to the Crocodile Hunter. He worries about everything. I want to do it though, I've swam with stingrays before and it was fun, I think my DS will enjoy it also. Castaway Cay is the only Island I haven't really commited to the excursions. I'm just not sure. The problem is there is just so much to pick from. Hahaha

Hi folks,
Thinking of possibly booking this cruise. With a lot of kids back in school do you think the current prices will come down any.

It would be just my wife and myself. Just want to get a cat 10. Is that the category where the split bathrooms start? How about the sofas?

We were on the Wonder in August in a cat 11 handicapped room so had no split bathroom or sofa.

TIA

Bill

They don't have stingrays as large as the one that killed Steve on Castaway. And like I said they keep the stinger trimmed so it really is risk free and one heck of a good time. All that said one has to be comfortable in order to enjoy it. Don't know if this info will help in making a decision but we will be playing with the stingrays. Lois

You are right Cat 10 is where the split baths start and most do have a sofa. I am unfamilar with the set up in the handicapped rooms so I can't speak to all rooms. Anyone found anything different from what I know? Lois

I'm leanin towards the stingrays Lois! I think you have given me a reason to look into it. I think it's something my DS would really enjoy. We've pet them before but never got into water with them. I'm a little nervous myself, but what a great experience it would be. I'm thinkin on it. Thanks for the info.
