Brrrrrr..... it was so freezing cold in Mass. today all I could do to cope was put some Disney music on in my car and daydream about sunny Castaway Cay!

Thanks Ann! My Nanny and Papa represent everything I aspire to be. They give so selflessly of themselves that we thought it was time to give back.
My Nanny is the epitome of a southern belle. Born and raised in Montgomery Alabama, she has quite a few stories about the old south. Like the time she (to young to be driving legally at the time) ran her mothers car into a mans car as he was backing down the driveway. That man was a young pastor named Martin Luther King Jr. Instead of calling the police, he asked what she was in such a hurry for. She told him her mother was in the hospital in the TB isolation ward. He followed her to the hospital an prayed with my great grandmother. He later went on to change the world!
My grandfather retired from the Air Force after 25 years of service to our country including 3 tours in Vietnam (which he doesn't like to talk about much). One story that sends chills down my spine is the one where the officer came and knocked on my Nannys door on the base in the Phillipines. He said my Papas plane had been shot down over the jungle and everyone on board had perished. My Nanny refused to believe him and for 3 days as people came to console her and pay their respects she rocked in a rocking chair. A young GI came bursting through the door crying and shouting that my Papa was alive in the jungle at a medics camp. He had gotten sick just before the plane took off and avoided death. My Nanny must have just knew! They have that kind of connection. He takes her on picnic lunches in the park to fly kites. They really are the greatest people ever. I can not wait to share the DCL experience with them.
Anyone have any ideas on special things to do for them? We are surprising them with Palo reservations for the whole group. I also intend to pay their stateroom bill at the end of the cruise. Maybe buy their Shutters pictures too? Any and all ideas welcome!
(sorry so long we are stuck in Jersey for 2 days)
I'm checking in. My fiance' and I decided we wanted to do a Disney Cruise for our honeymoon. We're booked in a category 7. Anyone had a Navigator's Veranda before?
We got the trip insurance not just because of the time of year, but also because he's on deployment right now (due to come back two weeks before the wedding on 9/1) and just in case he got extended for some bizarre reason.
Oh, and neither of us have ever cruised before.
edited to add: Forgot to add--we picked early dining rotation.

Following is the list of persons who have posted that they are cruising with us. If I have missed someone please let me know. If any of you are celebrated an anniverary, birthday or anything for that matter I would like to know. It might be nice to know which dining rotation, room number or at least deck location as well. This information can be PM to me if desired.
If there is someone who knows how to set up a web site to post this information that might be nice. I just don't have a clue how to do it. We could use the site to announce planned meets and activities as the plans are finalized. It's just an idea. Lois

Yes the floor is done but we still need to unpack and get things set back up.
Also just to warn folks; While we were gone since our house look vacate the postal Carrier decided we had moved and returned our mail to sender. This is even though we were stopping by daily to pick up our mail. And yes they apparently can do this without notice. When questioned why, we were informed that it was because of 9/11 and in the name of security. It has been a real mess. I am going to try to get the policy changed to force them to leave some kind of notice. When I suggested that they informed the consumer of the intent to hold the mail they stated they weren't going to change the policy (which I have yet manage to get a copy of) as it is a nationwide policy. Since it is a nationway policy so I guess I will go all the way to the top. I have the right to have my mail delivered to an empty house as long as I pick it up regularly. I am going to try to get this written into the NATIONWIDE policy. At least I am going to try. Lois
