08 was so Great at the Poly...TR-NEW 2/3 Time to say Good-bye (final post) / pics

Great pictures. I really should go to Chicago when it's not -16 degrees outside.

Thanks for sharing the Chicago pictures! I'd love to visit some day...

American Girl looked like a lot of fun too!

I've never been to Chicago....actually I've never been to the mid-west. I must put that on a list!

sorry all! I can't believe it's been over a week since I was last here! Crazy busy w/ getting the kids ready to start school yesterday and today (Aldine & Michael began 4th grade, while Mae starts Kindergarten today) Plus the Olympics has been keeping my butt busy on the couch watching what I Tivo the night before.....:happytv:

Anyhow, hope to find sometime first to get caught w/ many of you on your PTR/TR's and then get an update up and running here!

Sorry for the delay in our Disney Magic:wizard:

Hope the kids had a good start to the school year. Alex starts next Wednesday. Can't wait!!

The Olympics have been keeping me busy too - especially the swimming. I'm glad the swimming portion is over though because now I can get caught up on some other things. :rolleyes1

I'm loving your trip report. We are going to stay at the Poly in October and cannot wait!!!

Your night out looks great! My Dh and I are trying to decide if we are going to put the kiddoes in the Neverland Club one night and head out - sounds like your kids loved it and mine will be about the same age (9, 7, 5) as yours!!

I can't wait to read more about your trip - thanks for taking us along!!!

:welcome: glad you posted and said "HI", you will just love the POLY I'm sure of it!!!

Sorry to everyone for my delay in keeping this TR running along…..with end of summer crazies, start of school, busy w/ church volunteer things, and other family what not’s, plus the Olympics (well it only comes around every 2 years) I just haven’t seemed to have the time to sit and get another big-post up. But hopefully that will all change soon!

We last left off at the end of Day 2) and DH & I had just finished a great night at Magic Kingdom. I think we got back to the Poly at almost 2 am and a short 4 ½ hours later the alarm was ringing to get up for Michael’s medicine and get ready for our morning adventure together as a FAMILY in the Magic Kingdom! (I was pretty zonked, but still the allure of some more Disney MAGIC :wizard: kept me moving)

I was a bit leery of this whole Saturday morning plan at MK, I’ve done this before on 2 separate occasions and it was nutty busy both times, plus we were not sure what the un-official “Gay-Days” at MK would be like, going on today. After much debate at home, we decided to trust my new planning friend in TGM and hope for the best…..

After a quick wash up and stuff, we headed over to the monorail around 7:40 AM.

"It's the Castle...I see Disney World!"

(Oh BTW today was "blue" day...we're not all exactly wearing blue, but all have some blue on)

We headed straight into the park after the security turnstiles (it was much emptier than when Matt & I had entered last night)

It was very cool to walk down Main Street w/ just a few other guests heading to their morning ADR’s. We spotted several Photopass Photographers and waited to get some special pictures done:

The sun was felt barely up and it just seemed so surreal to be standing in a practically empty park. It really was a special highlight I shall never forget. We then headed over to the Crystal Palace to check-in for our morning ADR at 8:05 am. We had only waited maybe a max of 15 minutes when we were called in. It was a little crazy, getting all the kids together and our bags inside, as Matt and the kids were looking around and taking pictures, while I was putting sunscreen on Margaret, but we got it and were seated yet again at 3 perfect little tables along the wall right next to the buffet line.

I was so thrilled to be eating here as it was my first time and I always wanted to see the WTP & friends topiaries inside:

We all got our food, which was basically first dibs in a ½ filled restaurant. We got fruit, bacon, Mickey Mouse waffles, eggs, cheese, donuts and more. The older kids enjoyed going right up and picking out more to eat. There was plenty to choose from, I know I ate, but not as much as I would have loved to, slightly pre-occupied w/ the baby and trying to get her to eat and then the kids and their autograph books. But we all had a nice time!

The characters came around quickly and we saw Pooh

100_1697.jpg

Isn't he just so Cuddley?

100_1698.jpg

Ok Margaret has a wad of food in her mouth, but Mae looks cute!

Eeyore,

Tigger,

And finally Piglet!

100_1715.jpg

(I was starting to watch the time at this point and was getting a little nervous Piglet wouldn’t make it over in time, with wanting to make it out a little before 9 am and make our Dumbo Dash!)

100_1717.jpg

100_1719.jpg

"peek a boo Margaret" (she's a little unsure....)

Piglet has always been a favorite character of mine, even as a small child. So this was so special to see him and get a kiss too!

100_1721.jpg

They also had the character parade during our meal and the girls Aldine and Mae followed them around. I think Margaret was not to sure who all these BIG & Colorful characters were, but they were sweet and got down to her level and played. It was cute!

So we had our magical opening moments on Main Street, dinned in the beautiful Crystal Palace with Pooh and Friends, but now the tick-tick-tick of my plan mode side of the brain was kicking in….

It’s almost 9:00 am!!!:scared:

We need to finish up, use the bathroom, but not get stuck in a potentially long line. The restaurant was starting to fill up, I knew the park was opening….would we make it to Dumbo in time, would our plan work!? (You should be reading this in one long breath, freaking out…..!)

1. Great update! Wonderful pictures!! :thumbsup2
2. Yes, I'm freaking out on your behalf :lmao:
3. So, when you're watching the 2010 Olympics, should I wave to you on TV? :rotfl:

Love the picture of you and Piglet....I never got to see him in Jan. 07....I guess he's always running late!

I'm glad Margaret didn't freak at the characters.

GREAT update! We really liked Crystal Palace. I'd love to go back for a pre-opening breakfast. We almost didn't get to see Eeyore, but I explained that Alex just could not stay there any longer after our meal finished and they took us over to see him. Gotta love the Disney magic. Anywhere else and they would have just looked at us funny and said, "too bad".

I hope you guys made it to Dumbo!! Please don't make us wait too long to find out!

Great update. Glad you're back with more to entertain us Disney fans! ;)

I love the pics of Margaret and piglet...very cute!

Great update and pictures! I don't have any early morning ADRs booked and now you have me thinking - getting into the park early in the AM sounds very cool!!!! Of course I'm only 6 weeks out (woohoo!!!!) so I'm not sure if I'll find something!!!!!

Can't wait for the next update.

I love your TR! I found it last night and read almost the whole thong straight through. You have an adorable family. The only thing wrong with this report is that it is really makiing me want to plan a trip to WDW....its been 10 months since we have been there!
