ok I hope this does not get me a pirate: - my goal is to NOT have one :) so I am scared posting this close -

I am getting ready to start packing some more - hubby actually gets here tomorrow night! I am so excited but makes me realize how much I still have to do to get ready for the cruise!

We leave on Wed. from Memphis and will be in disney on Wed. afternoon. I am ready to get away but not packed yet - oh and i guess I need to get out our passports :) before I forget them!

I finished the card envelopes and got apirate: . I just realized DH has no clothes for tomorrow. I remember folding them on Friday but they did not get into the suitcase.:scared1: I hope this is not what is going to happen on Wednesday. There is always WalMart.

DB came to first cruise from Alaska. Had to buy all his summer clothes on the ship.:lmao: And he wore DD flip flops, two-three sizes too small. We all had fun!

this has probably been covered however, .....................

I am unable to do excursions but wondering at our ports of call are there like shopping centers or things to stroll around in my chair?

I know CC what I can do but not sure at the other ports of call.

If nothing at those I will still enjoy doing the activities on the Magic.

thanks

Like Cindy said, St Thomas has an area that's right there near the dock. I'm not sure how much St Maarten has changed, but we walked to the shopping area last time we were there... but that was years ago. Most people seem to take the water taxi now, though others have said it's about 20 minutes by foot to go "the long way" around. Though 20 minutes doesn't seem that long to me. I guess it depends on the temperature outside.

My goal was not to get a pirate either. I tried for weeks and always missed. I decided if it happens it happens. I got two a few days ago and another one just now. :rolleyes1 Pirate is good but having cards finished is wonderful. I have to get the stamps tomorrow. I mean tell my girl Friday to get them. She is so handy. She is going to pet/house sit while we are gone.

I am SO happy your husband will be home so soon. :cheer2: I don't think you told us how long he has been gone. Has he already left Iraq? How long is that flight?

I hope you have a great time Wednesday and maybe I'll see you at the launch.:thumbsup2

You are going to have fun with that lens.:thumbsup2

Gotta have maid service for a floor like that...lol:lmao: I know not where you find the time. I am looking at my floor now and have laundry from early today on it along with bags of art materials for school(dis wife is a teacher). 7 different plastic or rubber pirate swords & a hook. Half a log cabin (the other half was knocked over by a rampaging knight riding a monster truck). 3 cups, 4 flip flops (none match), and a bin full of unused Christmas decorations. By the way Do you have FIOS service?

Are you sure you aren't looking at my floor. Sad thing is that the cabin is that bad and I have to get it really clean before I leave tomorrow because we won't be back until Christmas Eve. We are having family up that night as well. I've got to get to work. Oh, weekday house is just as bad. I am going to be very busy.

I am just posting to post no chance of a pirate as I found the site to late.

I would like to thank everyone for the help and information. I read some more stuff and am sure we will have a great time If we ever make it there(so much to do....wife will be so buzy;) ).

What time is everyone getting to the port? I know check in starts at 1pm I believe but we usually try to get there a bit sooner:rolleyes1 . The ecitement and anticipation overcome us.

I talked to a few disney travel reps 1 that just got off a 4 day cruise and they said the ships are all decked out for christmas so that will be fun. Hard to think Christmas in 85 degree weather but hey we have no sleet or slush and I can wear shorts to the grocery store.

I hope everyone has a good night. I need to finish some laundry!!!:scared1:

I am looking to see if we can still get in on the Door Decorating Contest. I have tried to PM the person listed but I keep getting an error. I tried to PM someone else and the same thing happened. Anyone that can help on this it would be appreciated. :hippie:

I seem to remember a shopping area not at all far from the ship at St. Thomas. You should easily be able to travel there in your chair and peruse the shops. I don't know about St. Maarten - from pics, it looks like you can walk to a shopping area, but I'm not sure how long it takes on foot.

thanks. i will also check with the excursion desks on what/where I can go in my chair. I am used to hanging out on the ship which is fine for me too.

again thanks

thanks for the info. 20 min in a electric chair isn't that long <G>

I also am interested in the door decoration contest but now can't find who to PM. can someone guide me to who to PM to join this?

thanks

Lots of us are planning on getting to the port by 10ish. Early bird gets the worm I guess. I have never arrived for a cruise after 11.

Did you finish your work? My thumb is still throbbing from all the writing.:thumbsup2 Technology has us so spoiled but I thought the hand addressed envelopes would be a nice touch.

Thanks for the homeschool ideas. I am so new at this and Rainbow Resource makes my head spin. I buy a lot and then use very little. Is ebay the best place to resell unused materials?

:dance3: We have rain again!:dance3:

For those of you who don't know, I am in N GA and it has been really dry here. Last week my DSIL community wells dried up. The town I live only has a 25 day supply of water and is talking of rationing the stuff later this month.

I am really sleepy, but I think I want to stay up and listen to the rain.

Weather wish...rains in N GA the entire time we are gone, but doesn't start until we are south of Atlanta. No rain in FL the entire time we are there. Dry for the drive back home and light snow on Christmas Eve. But not enough to mess up the roads. :wizard:
