Are their special activities that might be on the ship due to the holiday time? I know there are decorations, but was wondering if there were any special activities.

Hi everyone! Haven't been online all weekend. Too busy to try to catch up. I am so happy that I finished Christmas shopping for the grandkids. Now I will be able to relax on the cruise and not feel like I will have to come home and rush around.

Does anyone know where we will be docking in St. Thomas? My computer will not let me access that information.:confused3

My goal was not to get a pirate either. I tried for weeks and always missed. I decided if it happens it happens. I got two a few days ago and another one just now. :rolleyes1 Pirate is good but having cards finished is wonderful. I have to get the stamps tomorrow. I mean tell my girl Friday to get them. She is so handy. She is going to pet/house sit while we are gone.

I am SO happy your husband will be home so soon. :cheer2: I don't think you told us how long he has been gone. Has he already left Iraq? How long is that flight?

I hope you have a great time Wednesday and maybe I'll see you at the launch.:thumbsup2

Yes he has left Iraq yesterday and is on the long journey home - we have not seen him since September and he has not been HOME to our house since March of this year.

We are looking forward to the launch - we rented a car from the Car Care Center in WDW to drive up there and i am SURPRISING the kids with a PT Convertible! Thought since it was just one day we could splurge. We will be going down for the day to see all the stuff at the space center as well as the launch.

I am looking to see if we can still get in on the Door Decorating Contest. I have tried to PM the person listed but I keep getting an error. I tried to PM someone else and the same thing happened. Anyone that can help on this it would be appreciated. :hippie:

bob

you normally have to have a certain number of posts before it will let you PM. not sure what the number is but keep trying till it lets you.

I have had so little time to DIS that I'm taking it when I can .... at 2AM.

It was raining so hard that JoJo would not go outside so it has stop and I'm taking him out.

Did you finish your work? My thumb is still throbbing from all the writing.:thumbsup2 Technology has us so spoiled but I thought the hand addressed envelopes would be a nice touch.

Thanks for the homeschool ideas. I am so new at this and Rainbow Resource makes my head spin. I buy a lot and then use very little. Is ebay the best place to resell unused materials?

Good morning!

Got my review done and then went to bed with a headache

The Rainbow Resource catalog is huge, isn't it? Have you ever been to a homeschool convention? I have spoken and been a vendor at the GHEA event for several years. If you're looking to read some reviews of products, you can check that section of my site: www.homeschoolingfromtheheart.com

Yes, I think ebay is the best place to sell used curriculum. Another good place used by LOTS of homeschoolers is: www.vegsource.com/homeschool

How a vegetarian site ended up with hugely popular homeschool forums for all sorts of people is beyond me, but it has been around a long time and has tons of participants!

Good morning dis friends. Today brings another change. We now leave a day earlier.:thumbsup2 DH worked so much this weekend on call that we decided to extend our 40th anniversary trip by one more day. DH needs to get away.

Need to go do more :laundy: and find another suitcase and pack again.

Please forgive me for bragging :cheer2: about this but my DGS just won first place and 2nd chair in the symphony band from his school in this district. Next is state. He hasn't even been playing a year. We are so pround of DGS. Does anyone know if they sell mickey with a saxiphone(sp) ornaments at DD?

Our little dog won't go out if it is raining, cold, too hot, frosty, foggy, dew on the ground. I got him some papers.

I got the oil changed in the van this morning. I am still trying to find out directions from WDW to PC. Anyone know?

More than likely we will still be on the road on the first night of Chanukah. We are just not in the mood suddenly to even prepare properly.

We are just two paper chains away from leaving. DD is having fun cutting down the chain each day.

Good morning. I can look a little later for directions, map quest should have some. I know it is really easy, quick drive. We have done it several times many years ago.

I am so behind we didn't even do the paper chain. How will you celebrate Chanukah in the car? Sounds kind of fun, it could make the drive go by quicker.

We do an Advent calendar for each kid. I thought I would pack them but do not like how much space they take up. I might let the kids open the boxes on Wednesday if I don't pack the Advent stuff.

We are going to be driving through Atlanta. We can leave at 6pm but thought it might be better to leave at 7pm so we would miss traffic. Any suggestions?

Yeah! Your finished.

I have heard of your site and have visited it in the past. I am going to check it out now.

Just realized I had DS(7) do the wrong page in math this morning. I won't tell.:rolleyes1

Not sure how we will in the car. We are not orthodox so we will not be carrying a menorah, but we will at least make an attempt to come to the lighting while on board.

Atlanta traffic can be iffy as you know. I would leave at 7pm honestly as we have seen traffic inbound from the north on 400 and 85 be merciless on the inbound side. We came back from the Aquarium one afternoon around 5:30 expecting traffic to be horrible outbound and it was the inbound side that was backed up.

:scared1: New teacher just sent email message with errors. Where did they find these people. :scared1: They have spell check. It was only two lines, could she not take the time to make sure she has real sentences! She sent this message to over 50 families.

Actually, it's VERY easy to get from WDW to the Port. All you need to do is get back onto I-4 and head up to Hwy 528 which is also known as Beachline. Take that East straight to the port. From there just watch the signs once you get over there. From what I have heard it's the straightest road there is this side of the plains states. :thumbsup2

What great news for both you - early start on vacation - AND your DGS :cheer2:
