:rolleyes1 We have yet to cut DD5's hair. We were planning on letting it grow to her butt and then donate it to Lock of Love. I have a friend that did that a few months ago. However, DD's hair is so fine and it is taking forever to grow. You'd think it would be longer than it is for someone who has never had a haircut. :rolleyes1

I keep talking about Lasik too!

I went to the eye doctor a couple of months ago and asked him if he thought I might be a candidate. My eyesight is pretty bad... I'm considered legally blind without correction. And he said the biggest factor would be my astigmatism. So he said "Come out here to the machine and we'll do a topography of your eye." So I'm thinking, okay... no big deal. He does the little test and then says... "Wow.. come look at this" with this total air of awe in his voice. He brings up the topography of my eye and just points. I'm like... :confused3 Is this supposed to mean anything to me. He looks at me like he's showing me the Hope Diamond and I'm not realizing the significance. So he pulls up another picture and says "This is a normal eye... and this is your eye." He looks at me expectantly. And I'm still... :confused3 Then he starts calling other people in to look at it!! He says "You really don't see it?" And I say "No, but you're kinda making me feel like a freak of nature at this point." :lmao:

So he finally quits with the circus side-show and decides he has to call another eye doctor friend of his to discuss my eyes. It finally boiled down to the fact that they said I could have it done.

I've been in my glasses a lot more lately just because my contacts seem to make my eyes burn after a couple hours now. :headache:

It is usually never good when a doctor calls other doctors in to "see this". :lmao: I'm glad you got the okay. :thumbsup2 Bill and I both have astigmatism. He was cleared for the procedure. I hope when the time comes, I'm a candidate too.

I think my two biggest fears are either having something go wrong and losing eyesight (of course)... or, having it done but it not correcting me enough so that I'd still have to wear glasses or contacts anyway. Which would be a complete waste, in my opinion. I guess if I wasn't "as blind," it would be good, but just once in my life, I'd like to be able to just wake up and get out of bed without having to feel around for my glasses first. :sad2:

When the time comes, you're going to have that same reaction when they show you a sonogram. :lmao: The Technicians are always like "Look! Do you see that?" and you're like "What is it?" :lmao:

I'll definitely take the first sonogram home and study it carefully. But I think I only want any of the follow up ones if they don't give away any surprises. We've talked about it, and I think we wanna be surprised in the delivery room. And I'm sure I'll give the "as long as it's healthy" speech a couple hundred times... but, really, I wanna girl. ;) princess:

Bill said it was life changing. He doesn't even remember wearing glasses anymore. I did "baby" him the first few days after lasik. He had to put eye drops in ALL THE TIME. He had lasik on a Thursday and was back to work on Tuesday. So, he recovered fairly quickly. Bill went to a well known local doctor (Dr. Tylock). He does a lot of local athletes. So, Bill was in good hands. :goodvibes

Apparently this guy he called to run my numbers by is one that does a lot of the celebrity fixes out here. And, from the price he was quoting me, I believe it. You see those adds on TV for "$399 per eye" or whatever they are and think "oh, that's not so bad." But then you really get scared into wanting only the best. Which is, of course, way more than $399 an eye. I guess the hope is you get what you pay for, so people are willing to pay the well-known guy more money. And, when it comes down to it, I'll probably go with him too. I'd rather pay more and feel more at ease than save a few bucks and wonder how it's gonna turn out.

but, really, I wanna girl. ;) princess:

 I love my two healthy sons. But I'll admit, it is nice having a daughter to do "girly" things with too. :cheer2: She lucked out because she has a big brother and little brother. So, any future suitors will have to answer to Daddy and the "Protectors".

Bill knows some people at work that went with a cheaper doctor and they DID have problems with the procedure. He could probably tell you more about it. It doesn't pay to skimp on something as precious as your eyesight. Yes, the more reputative doctors get you in the wallet. $$$$$$$ They probably give the athletes the procedure for free or at a drastic discount and us "common folks" have to pay the outrageous fee. Where's the justice in the world? :rolleyes1

Okay Julie . . . I am getting sleepy. Yes, me :cloud9: I have to take Bill to the airport in the morning or rather in a few hours. :lmao:

- Jennifer

We were talking about that here the other day too! How all these celebrities get so many perks and free things just for being famous... and they're the ones that can afford to pay for the stuff the most! And now it's gone so far as they're paying them to do things. There are stories about Paris Hilton and Britney Spears getting paid thousands of dollars just to show up at a certain party for 15-20 minutes. One hotel in Vegas apparently paid Paris to have her birthday party at their hotel! I mean... c'mon! She can afford to pay for her own party!

You do realize we're leaving within 7 posts of a triple pirate: , don't you? :rolleyes1

Don't blame me!! You smelled the pirate: too!

And you do realize everyone else is going to get up in the morning and read all this and think "What were these two crazy broads talking about all night?" :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I guess I need to try since I have been on here the past few hours. It never hurts.
