OK, I'm settled in my office, waiting for my boss to come in. Why is he never here when I really need to get his signature on something?
Let's see--our formal wear is all ready. I have a long dress for formal night, and outfits for Palo and semi-formal night (actually, right now we're eating at Palo on semi-formal night, so I may only need one of those). Because I used to travel a lot on short notice, all of my dress-up clothes are the kind that squish nicely and come back to life by hanging in the bathroom while I shower. We've got packing down to a science--one large and one medium suitcase for the two of us, plus a carry-on with important stuff like medications and things we'll need immediately, and my computer bag and purse. We never bring more luggage than the two of us can carry comfortably because we usually start and end our vacations with at least one train trip and have to be able to manage everything. Having cruised six times already, we pretty much know what we will and won't wear. I'm not a shoe person, so I'll have one pair for my long dress, one pair for the rest of my dressier clothes, a pair or two of
crocs and my flip-flops. Jeans, shirts and maybe one nice pair of slacks for each of us and we're set. Jim brings one pair of dress shoes and his crocs. Of course, he brings some clothes, too! Since we're camping at the beginning of our vacation, we're really trying to cut down on the amount of luggage that we'll have.
I also put an empty soft-side bag and a few empty tote bags in my suitcase. They're great for packing souvenirs, or for carrying around while I'm shopping on the islands. Anything that I buy while I'm at WDW before the cruise will go home with "The Kids" when they leave. They will also take the camping equipment with them, since they're staying at WDW when we leave for the cruise.
OK, it's time for me to do some productive work here! I have my big project just about complete, and it's a good thing. I have only 12 more work days until vacation!
