So I asked DH if he wanted to do a MVMCP this year in December either before or after the cruise... But he said No.. :guilty:
Maybe I will get 1 ticket and just go without him :snooty:
He is such a fuddy duddy sometimes

Just come with us on the 16th!

not sure if this will apply to others on this cruise...... they have changed boarding ppl in wheelchairs/special needs after conceige sp? In Sept I was given a number just like everyone else and boarded by number.

Although I did sorta like boarding almost first and getting to Parrot Cay earlier to eat, I am also glad they made this change. Now I don't feel differernt than others, or that ppl look at me as handicapped/disabled. I got to board just like everyone else and felt like I was treated the same. Nice feeling.

I'd heard they stopped this privilege because some folks were taking advantage of it. Which made me angy. After pushing my DD in a wheelchair around the Orlando airport, I gained a huge appreciation for how difficult it can be for parents who are always maneuvering in and out of bathrooms and stores with their child's wheelchairs.

To hear that you prefer to board with everyone else, give me another perspective.

I went shopping today looking for something for the formal/semi-formal nights. The way this is going, we might be skipping formal night. :sad2: Either that or I'll be under dressed.

Just wear whatever makes you feel dressed up. Remember there will always be those who wear jeans on formal night because they want to, and there will always be at least one family who lost their luggage and can't dress up. You've got all your DIS friends to back you up if any one hassles you!

I was looking at dressy tops today. I have a pair of dressy black pants and I may just wear them with different tops this year.

IMHO, one of the best ways to go! :thumbsup2

I actually have a cruise question!

Has anyone ever seen a post office in St Thomas? I went to usps.com and they don't even recognize the zip code for St Thomas even though it is a US Virgin Island.

I was thinking it might be easier to send home a package from there to free up some luggage space. We'll have had formal night and pirate night by then, so all that stuff could take a slow boat home.

I just checked online, and according to the Havensight Mall website (the mall right next to the cruise ship dock) there is a full service post office in building 7. I'm glad you asked the question, because that is good info to have ahead of time!

I added another section to the blog with the following info:

Emergency contact information while onboard

Mailing packages to the Ship

Mailing packages home from St Thomas, USVI

Directions to the Port

If there's any other important info you want added, please let me know.

Good morning! Happy Halloween!

OK, just stopped by to do that. I have to go run. I've been trying to get this post done for 20 minutes but I keep losing my connection because of the morning rush-hour trains. They must have been backed up for some reason because five just went through in 20 minutes, when there should have been only one!

I found some new luggage this morning 4 piece Atlantic set 27", 24", 21" and a tote bag for $134 at LuggagePros.com.

They even offer free shipping in the states and a 150% price guarantee:thumbsup2

The only Atlantic set I see is for $149. There is a disclaimer at the top that says customer codes do not apply on Atlantic. Am I missing something?

I like the Aqua.

:stir: HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!:stir:

Good morning happy Disney people!

Hope everyone is well this morning. Woke up on time, and made it to work a little early, so I'm feeling good.:thumbsup2 Of course, on the way here, I spilled a vase and got green water on my car seat (dyed green from the styrofoam block that was in there), so you can imagine the language I was emitting!:scared1: But because I was early I had enough time to run back out to my car with a roll of paper towels and soak up the water. I'll have to take some Shout spray to it when I get home, though.:sad2:

About packing: for my first cruise I overdid it. Two suitcases and I didn't use half of the stuff. I was so mad at myself! I stuffed them, too, so of course getting all those souvenirs home was a big pain. I brought practically a pair of shoes for every outfit and I think I ended up wearing maybe 3 pairs.:sad2:

So my mission this time is one little suitcase.:lmao: Okay...maybe 1 medium suitcase.

Well, now time for some actual work. I'll keep checking in, though. Everyone have a good day!:wave2:

Come on over I have a TON left :goodvibes I can fill the bags fast.. All you'll need to do is go to 1 house.. :rotfl2:

LOL, puleese, there is no candy shortage at my house, no matter how much we get. Heck, I only let them have 1 piece a day!! That doesn't account for what my6 year old sneaks. I now put the candy jar above his reach. He is a snack thief!!

I am thrilled that school is not giving any candy at the parties this year. I sent in pretzels for DS and playdough for their party. DD class collected money for cheese platters and cruidite :).

OK, I'm settled in my office, waiting for my boss to come in. Why is he never here when I really need to get his signature on something?

Let's see--our formal wear is all ready. I have a long dress for formal night, and outfits for Palo and semi-formal night (actually, right now we're eating at Palo on semi-formal night, so I may only need one of those). Because I used to travel a lot on short notice, all of my dress-up clothes are the kind that squish nicely and come back to life by hanging in the bathroom while I shower. We've got packing down to a science--one large and one medium suitcase for the two of us, plus a carry-on with important stuff like medications and things we'll need immediately, and my computer bag and purse. We never bring more luggage than the two of us can carry comfortably because we usually start and end our vacations with at least one train trip and have to be able to manage everything. Having cruised six times already, we pretty much know what we will and won't wear. I'm not a shoe person, so I'll have one pair for my long dress, one pair for the rest of my dressier clothes, a pair or two of crocs and my flip-flops. Jeans, shirts and maybe one nice pair of slacks for each of us and we're set. Jim brings one pair of dress shoes and his crocs. Of course, he brings some clothes, too! Since we're camping at the beginning of our vacation, we're really trying to cut down on the amount of luggage that we'll have.

I also put an empty soft-side bag and a few empty tote bags in my suitcase. They're great for packing souvenirs, or for carrying around while I'm shopping on the islands. Anything that I buy while I'm at WDW before the cruise will go home with "The Kids" when they leave. They will also take the camping equipment with them, since they're staying at WDW when we leave for the cruise.

OK, it's time for me to do some productive work here! I have my big project just about complete, and it's a good thing. I have only 12 more work days until vacation!

Beth

We are somewhat older than you...

And just a tiny bit younger than you! I guess that makes us middle aged?

Our favorite WDW restaurant is Boma. We've actually traveled from New Jersey just to eat there. Our favorite "date night at WDW' restaurant is Narcoosee's. It's not overly fancy, but it's nice, and the view of Wishes and the Electrical Parade can't be beat. I have reservations there for Dec. 16, but I haven't told Jim. That will be my anniversary surprise for him. Of course, after being on the ship all that time, I'm not sure we'll be able to eat anything!

Beth

Heck, I consider myself middle aged. :woohoo:

  NOT US!!!

Awww, don't feel bad, we aren't either. We fly in on the 8th and out on the 15th. We discussed staying over nite, and DH said it was up to me. But after a really relaxing (I hope) vacation, I didn't want to rush 1 day at a park. And we were just there in August with the kids?? Oh, I hope this doesn't make me less Disney addicted :rotfl: . Plus MIL is watching the kids, so I am sure she will want them gone that Sat nite :lmao: .

I went shopping today looking for something for the formal/semi-formal nights. The way this is going, we might be skipping formal night. :sad2: Either that or I'll be under dressed.

Today, I proved the theory that "just cause it fits, doesn't mean you should wear it." :headache:

Hmmm....what do you guys wear on formal nite?? I don't have a gown, I was planning on wearing a black dress (is long, but just because I am short and I didn't want/need it tailored). I am packing a suit for DH.

So tell me, what does everyone wear for the 7 nite, we have only been on the 3 niter. What should I pack??

I've been looking online for a Christmasy Dress for Formal Night but no such luck :headache: I thought it would be nice to have Nice pictures of DH & I to give to our parents :goodvibes

Found out Kohl's is having a Sale :thumbsup2

If I am off tomorrow.. I'm going shopping!!!! :dance3:

I hadn't thought of Kohls. We finally got one here a year or so ago, but it is 20 plus miles from our house and not a direction we ususally travel so I tend to not think about it. Hmmmm. I could go by there on the way home one night.:thumbsup2

DH said he is going to drive to Florida for Thanksgiving :confused3 Not sure why except his office will be closed cause he always gives his employees those days off.. But.. I ... working in Retail at BAB can't take off for Black Friday so I won't be going with him..

He is planning on getting the Furniture put together Before we get down there in December  So we will have Real beds and not Mattresses on Boxsprings on the floor.. Not that ours isn't comfy as is.. But.. Ok..

I work retail too (Staples..that was easy), and since I have small kids, I only work then they are in school. Mgr isn't happy, but they did hire me and I told them upfront. They weren't happy that I can't work the end of August either. But tehy don't give me great hours (many hours) anyway, so it is a trade off.
