Just wear whatever makes you feel dressed up. Remember there will always be those who wear jeans on formal night because they want to, and there will always be at least one family who lost their luggage and can't dress up. You've got all your DIS friends to back you up if any one hassles you!
I do like dressing up since we never do anything too fancy at home. I still have the formal and semi-formal stuff I've used for the last two cruises, but I don't want to wear it
again. An in, I wore the same two dresses on both cruises. I need different pictures this time!
I just checked online, and according to the Havensight Mall website (the mall right next to the cruise ship dock) there is a full service post office in building 7. I'm glad you asked the question, because that is good info to have ahead of time!
Oh, thanks! That would be
really convenient. I was thinking, at the very least, I'd have to go into town. This is even better. I might just do it.
I added another section to the blog with the following info:
Emergency contact information while onboard
Mailing packages to the Ship
Mailing packages home from St Thomas, USVI
Directions to the Port
If there's any other important info you want added, please let me know.

The obsessive planner in me thanks you!
We've got packing down to a science--one large and one medium suitcase for the two of us, plus a carry-on with important stuff like medications and things we'll need immediately, and my computer bag and purse. We never bring more luggage than the two of us can carry comfortably because we usually start and end our vacations with at least one train trip and have to be able to manage everything.
I'd like to get away with just one big suitcase, but I know we're gonna end up with a suit bag too.
a pair or two of
crocs and my flip-flops. Jeans, shirts and maybe one nice pair of slacks for each of us and we're set. Jim brings one pair of dress shoes and his crocs.

My crocs broke last night!

Well, "broke" might be a strong word. One of the strap rivets broke so now they don't stay on as well. I went to the Crocs website though and they'll send replacement rivets for free, so I ordered one. I was thinking of getting a new pair of Crocs anyway and thought "Here's my chance!"

I might still do it anyway since that pair is old and I want a different style now anyway.
Hmmm....what do you guys wear on formal nite?? I don't have a gown, I was planning on wearing a black dress (is long, but just because I am short and I didn't want/need it tailored). I am packing a suit for DH.
So tell me, what does everyone wear for the 7 nite, we have only been on the 3 niter. What should I pack??
On the last two cruises, I had one dress that was a sort of lace overlay thing with silver thread woven through it. So it was sparkly, but in a subtle way. The other dress was long, but straight with a wrap top. It was sleeveless, so I wore a chiffon scarf with it. Like everyone else said, you'll see people in everything though. Every so often you'll even see a sequined "Love Boat" kinda dress, but that's not often.
DH will have his suit.
We shipped ahead last year. We sent a couple of bottles of wine that we made to the resort and carried it on board. Also shipped our SS stuff. Our group will be shipping some stuff this year. Diapers for the two babies that are with us and such.
I read in that same thread that the warehouse doing this is no longer accepts packages with liquids in them. Someone mentioned they believed it was because they started getting overwhelmed with people shipping cases of bottled watered to be delivered to the ship. But shipping to the resort like you did is a good idea.
I might still ship some bulky stuff that I don't plan on bringing back though. For anyone thinking of doing this, the thread can be found here:
