07/22/2006 - The Oh-Seven Double-Deuce Double Dip Desperados!

roysbrew - you beat me to it. Anyway, disneymum2 - we're going on the basic ruins tour for $43. You don't pay anything until you get there - they want cash - not even a credit card deposit. I've read a lot of good things about their tours - so we're taking a chance!

I googled patron saints of good weather (there are 3):

Agricola of Avignon (he is also patron saint of rain, so don't pray to him, he might get confused :rotfl2:

Clare of Assisi (she also patron saint of eyes, telephones, embroiderers, TVs, TV writers,)

Medard of Noyon (he was sheltered from a storm by an eagle, he is also patron saint of brewers, against sterilty, peasants, metally ill, toothaches, vineyards)

There's also a bunch of saints if you do a search for sailors,
but Saint Christopher is for sailors, and travellers, he's my pick.

BTW (8yrs catholic school for me, 13yrs for DH) DD and DS will start this fall in preK 4 so it may be 14 yrs for them. DH works at their school, it's elementary, girl's HS, and a 4 year college run by Dominican sisters (white habits)

As far as mass, on vacation we usually exercise travel dispensation.

Sorry, the reply was from me - not Jazstar87 -she never logged out yesterday on my computer here at school - I wasn't paying attention this morning when I replied.

Really, if there's nothing offered, what choice is there? I'm sure our priest would love to stowaway with us, but he's the only one we've got, so the rest of our parish might get a bit upset!

MIL teaches catechism and worked in the rectory for years. She always jokes that DW and I are "really married" because we had 6 priests presiding. My Jewish best man says he's an "honorary Catholic" just for having to kneel that long in front of 6 priests. :rotfl2:

Oh, and nice pics Bethipooh! I'll have to see if I can dig some up from Mexico last year.

Thanks to both of you - I think we're going to be on this excursion as well! :cheer2:

You guys are making me want to change DH and DS's tour to this one, instead of the Disney one....But I have this fear of waving goodbye to them as the ship pulls away as they are running down the dock...LOL

I tease DH that he is Catholic-lite....He is Episcopal..He says he gets all of the religion, none of the guilt.... :)

Bethipooh,

Sometimes I think the Episcopals service feels more Catholic then the Catholic Mass at our church.

I was worried about a non DCL excursion too. That's why we are doing the Atlantis sub thru DCL even though it was a little less to book directly with the company. (That excursion goes until 5:20 last tender in Coz is 6:00) I booked David and Ivan because 1) to book thru DCL you must be 5 yo and
2) worstcase senario we miss the boat and David and Ivan will have to drive that van from Costa Maya to Cozumel for us to meet up with the ship.

bethipooh-we're doing the disney excursion too...I'm too paranoid about getting left (not much of a chance taker- had a friend who left the boat on purpose once- she said she felt like throwing up the whole time she watched it go away...then they had to get over the mexican border with no stamp!)

I wonder how we get notified on the chance there is a catholic mass?? would they announce it or word of mouth??

In honor of one month, share some photos. I'll start with one of my youngest on formal night. Needless to say, DW was not pleased, but we got a picture, anyway:

Oh my goodness, he is adorable......

Here is my contribution:

From our tour of the galley. I had spotted him earlier at our Palo Brunch, but Dh wouldn't let me take him back to the room...Maybe this cruise..lol

When I got this confirmation from Ivan I felt a little better. We leave first thing in the morning - the tour is only 3.5-4 hours long - so even if we leave at 9AM - we should be back by 1pm. So we have a few hours to spare in case of anything. He drops you right at the dock too. Just have to remember the bug spray! Also a number of people said that they brought some school supplies for the kids in the area - will probably do that too. I'll have to look up some past posts to see what other's brought & what they need.

I’m pleased to inform you that we're holding nine

Yah!!!! I just noticed I became a Mouseketeer with my 75th post! :mickeyjum
How exciting! Love all your posted pictures! Haven't learned how to do that yet. I was thrilled learning the right click move a few months ago!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!! :sunny: Hope everyone has a fantastic Friday!!!!!! Ok, so we have the bags (which I love), and I just learned about the door signs...(do you have a different one for each day or one for the whole trip?) is there anything else I should know/do/bring to our first Disney Cruise. :listen: Need to start making a packing list so I can organize my thoughts. :)

Good morning to you too!!!!

I definately have to get more stuff for the bag...looks like whoever gets mine will be getting some Carolina Hurricane stuff in it..lol

As far as the door sign, I usually only do one, but this time I also did one for Pirate night. Not quite sure how to post it because of the size. Hmm may make that Dh's project for the weekend. I am computer challenged.. :rotfl2:

So..since it is Friday, here is my picture of the day...a shot of CC for our double stop.

Now that looks like a little piece of heaven. :woohoo: Ahhhhhh, I can almost feel the sand between my toes. I know alot of people will probably be going to or have already been to Disney World....but I wanted to get something from Disneyland and/or California Adventure for my bag. Would that be too lame?

That picture is perfect. It would make a great screen saver. I didn't have a digital camera the last time we cruised, therefore no pictures. I guess I could scan my pictures and then put them on the computer, but first I'd have to learn how to do that. The cruise will be over by then.

Savagefam, I think whatever you want to put into your bag is fine. I'm still trying to find things to fill up mine.

Less than a month!!!!

Dee

P.S. My computer is dead so I have to use my sons laptop. Is it just me or are these things hard to type on? It takes me twice as long to type a message. I guess I'm just old.

Hey, Hey, HEEEYY!!! Don't be calling my idea "lame"! :rotfl:

I'm not saying _what_ exactly, but the recipient of my bag will be gettin' some DL trinkets...and maybe some other stuff, too.
