What the heck is that????

haha. we think it's some kind of fungus. it was growing in our media that we use for bacterial cultures.

i'm scared to open the bottle to get rid of the media. i think i'm going to have nightmares from it.

DH and I are hockey fans too. i grew up a devils and rangers fan, now it's the predators. We have season tickets we share with a friend. DS and DD love the game too. They get whiny if they don't get on "TV" (talk about spoiled). They bring a flag, their foam fang fingers, hats, etc. Considering we went 2 nights before they were born and DH went to a game 2 days after they were born ( we were still in hospital) I suppose it's not their fault. Glad to hear the Hurricanes beat the Oilers.

Another hockey fan, here. My boys start their first roller hockey tonight - my youngest wouldn't take off the pads until it was time to go to bed. :thumbsup2

I play on Wednesday nights with my BIL (also going on the cruise)..Nephew alternates between ice and roller. DW says she's becoming a hockey widow.

Of course, we're all Ducks fans here. My oldest even lost his first tooth while at a Ducks game earlier this year. My wife was freaked out - I took it as a good omen. :goodvibes

I was happy for the 'Canes - especially Cullen and Gerber (former Ducks).

Catching up, I hope everyone recovered from their respective Mondays....only 4 more to go!

And Iggbees, I don't know what you do, but I'm glad I'm NOT doing it. Blech.

Iggbees,
At first I thought, how pretty..then I realized, its shouldn't be there...ICK...so..is it still there or did you get rid of it???? :rotfl2:

We've taken the boys to a few hockey games over the last 2 years, and we always go on military appreciation night for free(a free game, how cool). So now they are turning into fans big time...If we lived closer I would get them in some lessons to learn to skate..lol

Hope everyones week is going better....
You all do realize today is the 30 day mark...... :hourglass :woohoo:

Yep, we've got multiple irons in the fire, too....we're staying offsite at WDW in 07...a little more than a year from now. Of course, we're thinking of extending our stay on-site. :cool1:

But, first thing's first....5 more weeks....anddddd, we're really not any more prepared than we were 2 months ago. Anyone else starting to get a little nervous?

Also, it just dawned on me that this will be the kids' first time on an airplane. What a great dad huh? First trip is going to be 5 hours. Any other west coaster on the plane with us - I apologize in advance....Here's hoping the portable DVD player keeps 'em occupied. :wizard:

Hi -
I totally feel your pain. 30 days to go and I am so busy with end of school year activities, softball, tball, dance recitals, karate tournaments and work that I haven't had any time to think about this trip.

I feel so anxious - by the time the 22nd comes I'm sure I'll need the break!!!
:wave2:

Great things you learn about your shipmates - my twins play hockey - they are pretty good so some of you may not want your kids to talk to my kids because they will hear all the "good stuff" and you don't me to fill you in on the "bad parts"

he is moving back home to North Carolina....

Where in NC is he going back to?? We are here in Goldsboro, stationed at the Air Force base...I hope he has a safe trip.

He is in Fayetteville. That is where I was born, and where we lived mostly. (also spent about 6 years in Clarksville, TN) But NC will always be home. He made it safe and sound.

About these "door signs"....what are they exactly?

Doorsigns are what cruisers come up with to decorate their door.
Some use the Mickey head paint chips from Home Depot and cut them out.
The doors are metal, and some make things into magnets...
Do a search for doorsigns and you will be amazed at what you find.

Here is ours from last year with DS(8). Kinda plain, but it was my first attempt.. :rotfl2:

OK, looking through my photo bucket account, I have to post my favorite pic from last years cruise...Well I could post the one of DS(15) but I think he would kill me....lol

Great picture Bethipooh! What a beautiful day! I hope we luck out with the weather there! :sunny: Should I bring my rosary beads to hang up in the window?? I was told to do that by some of the mom's at school - when you want sunny weather! I did it last week for jazstar's graduation & it worked ! We had a beautiful night -so graduation was outside. (They said it was an Italian thing.) I had my official first day of summer vacation today! Guess where I was .... :teacher: school! I have so much to finish up - I'll be there the next few days. Can't believe we'll be at WDW at this time next month! We'll be at Pop from the 19-22. I just booked the ruins tour with Ivan & David for the 9 of us. We go early in the morning.
Got so much to think about and do the next 4 weeks. :rolleyes2
Update on DMIL - She's coming home tomorrow! She's been in the hospital since May 23rd - almost a month! They're setting up a hospital bed, got her a jazzi - until her one leg gets better & she can hopefully walk again. So pixiedust: does work! Thanks again everyone!

PrincessJasmine53,

Glad to hear MIL is going home. Are you doing just the regular tour with David & Ivan? If so we are on it too. So is professorandmom (I think).

It's hard too believe summer vacation is just starting for you. I feel like our summer is 1/2 over (which it is). My little ones have been out since May 22nd. Preschool in Nashville follows the North to start (after labor day) and the South to get out (before memorial day). My sister is in Bergen County, NJ and her boys finish up this week, too.

I've never heard of hanging rosary beads in the window for good weather, but if it worked I say do it again. I'm sure there's a saint to pray to for good weather while sailing, maybe I'll do a google search.

Okay all you catholics- when do we know if there's going to be mass on sunday?? I've heard that if there is a priest- they will do mass?? anyone else heard this too?? (I know there's a non denom but would love to have mass on board)

OK, I have heard about putting a statue of the Blessed Mother in the window for good weather but not the rosary.

From what I have been reading this isn't mass onboard.

Hi roysbrew! Yes we're doing the ruins only. We originally thought about the extreme tour where you go to the lagoon - it sounded so good. But after doing some research I found some pictures of Laguna Azul, which is where he takes you- it looks like our lake! See for yourself...
http://www.xcalak.info/scripts/gallery/pic_details.php?pid=669
So we decided to do the ruins only. This way we can go back on the ship for lunch & do something else.

About the rosary beads...when I told my neighbor, she said that they used to put a statue in the window facing out, but she couldn't remember who - she never heard of the rosary beads. One of the moms that told me about it, said her daughter had them hanging in quite a few windows, so it would be nice for communion day....and it was!
Don't know about the mass on board. I teach at a Catholic school - so I'm exempt when I'm on vacation! :rolleyes1

GoodMorning Everyone :wave2: :wave2:

I have read so much on this site about the David & Ivan tour - can someone give me their website?
We don't have any plans yet for Costa Maya - and their tour sounds like lots of fun! :dance3:

I've also heard if there is a priest onboard, he may be willing to hold mass. But its not definate. I have rosary beads and the statue(12 years of Catholic school here)....I guess I will add them to the list to pack..my worst fear is bad weather, I can handle some rain(only at night of course) but I am so worried about..dare I whisper it..(hurricanes)

Update on DMIL - She's coming home tomorrow
I am so glad to hear she is on the mend and on her way home...that is wonderful and must be a huge relief for your family.

We are doing a ruins tour also, but doing the one offered through Disney.
