07/22/2006 - The Oh-Seven Double-Deuce Double Dip Desperados!

ok. phew. I was worried that I'd see a disney character everywhere I went. Looks like I might be able to avoid them altogether except for the times that I'm required to attend w/ the family. I hope they don't show up at every dinner, do they? I think we were planning to eat at Palo 1 night.

nDH
BTW, I'm not really a cruise-type person, I tolerate them. My ideal vacations are hiking at a national park somewhere, but I already dragged the family on one of those this year so now it's there turn to have fun. Fortunately, this one has snorkling and old ruins for me to enjoy.

roysbrew,
my DD is 12 going on 17 .
My DW forwarded this link to me and I was just curious to see what kind of responses I would get from my question.

Iceman,

your DD should have plenty of friends on this thread. I think there are about a dozen 11-13 year olds who are going. Lots of 9 year olds too.

roybrew,
yeah, my DD already has already told me about how many 12+yr DS are on the cruise based on her reading this board.... she tells me she hopes there's are some cute ones.... ugh!
nDH

iceman you would love my husband- bribed him into first cruise because it had a stop in san juan and he loves puerto rico...you will be surprised how much you will enjoy...

jazstar (alyssa),
Areyou talking to me? I think you have the wrong person.
nDH

well since you aren't who i think you are then you can hang with my dad. he doesn't like disney very much.

Jazstar,
He sounds like my kind of guy... at least we have 1 thing in common.... I'm sure there will be more.

what the gene pool? ;)

:welcome: Aboard Iceman! It sounds like you'll get along really well with my DH! He wasn't too crazy about doing a Disney Cruise -too Mickey Mouse for him, now he's all excited to go! He fell in love  with Castaway Cay - going there twice has just made his day!
Don't forget to pack a jacket in your duffle bag - so you can go to Palo's & get away from Mickey for awhile! Hopefully you can get a reservation.
Don't forget there's bike rentals on Castaway cay if you so desire. An hour for $6.00. You could also get your hair corned or braided - that might be fun! :stitch:

PJ53,
Spending time at a nice beach and snorkling all day sounds great. Having Disney characters swarming around my table at breakfeast, lunch, and dinner (or tucking me in at night :rotfl2: ) has me a bit concerned :sad2: . Supposedly my DW has connections with a special group :wizard: and made Palo reservations. I'll send you a private e-mail so that I can hook up with your DH .... maybe we snorkle together or share a tandem bike at CC :moped:

Ok, maybe its none of my business....LOL

But I am confused after the above banter...(or a little low on caffeine :surfweb: )

Are you guys related or not?? :confused3

i don't think he wants to be (we are a little above the disney craze)

but he family sounds a little like my uncle family, are they the same? we will never know ;)

I'm having a good time looking for stuff for our bag exchange. Of course my DD gave me funny looks  when I showed her what I got. She picked out a few things of her own. Only 24 days to go...got so much to do...plus packing. I need to order the pins for iggbees - for our double scoop buttons she's making. Got cars rented for after the cruise for the day. So now I just have to run to Palos when we get on the ship. Bethipooh - you mentioned you went on the galley tour. How was that?? I was looking at the May DD Navigators - looks like they have some other neat things, like cake & plate decorating, creative napkin & towel folding, signature entrees, etc. They are all on Monday & Thursday when we're at sea. Hopefuly they're not all at the same time! My DH wants to do the wine & beer tasting - he said that he wouldn't mind doing the margarita, tequila & martini tasting too, but they're all on Mon. & Thurs.! Don't think he'll make all of them! :drinking1
DMIL - She's home...came home a few days ago, so far, so good :thumbsup2

I am so glad to hear about DMIL....that is terrific news.
Ahh the dreaded bags....I still have more to get for mine, just need to get off my butt and go to the stores :moped: And finish making the magnets for everyone...and to think I was bored today..... :rotfl:
Of course I have zucchini coming out my ears, tonight I made 5 loaves of zucchini bread, the garden is in full bloom.
I know I want to do the tequila and martini tasting as well...and go to all the classes.
Beth, the galley tour was really neat. We got to see how everything works and is stored, and even better, we got warm cookies at the end.

Iceman, add my DH to the reluctant mouse club...he tolerates it because of me. He should have known he was in trouble when we spent our honeymoon at Disneyland. :earseek:

PJ53,
Thanks for the sample schedules. It looks like they give you a pretty detailed schedule so that us nD folks can avoid what we can. I'm w/ your DH, I'll certainly be at the martini tasting and the margarita tasting... too bad they're only 30 minutes long.
