I'm so envious!! No Doc's here yet! I booked through a TA. Do the doc's go there first? Do I have to <<Gasp>> wait a few more days for my docs to arrive?

Can I ask for some sympathy and pixie dust?

As some of you know I am student teaching right now. There is an opening in the district at another school. It is in the same grade I am teaching and my coop has been singing my praises. I just found out that I didn't even make it for the interview. I am so frustrated. I know it was one of my best shots because it is all about who you know. Ughhhh. I am terrified that I won't get a job for next year. Each position in the area gets 200-900 applications! I know that there is still time, but there is very little opening in the area. I am just so sad and bummed right now because I love kids, and want to be a teacher!

They are here! I have two more days of school with kids, then one teacher work day, and then the real vacation starts! I need to find all the things I have been stashing away.

I have a question about the documents, though. Last year, (our first DCL cruise), there were four of the little booklets in our package; one for each of us. This year, there are only three. My DD and I each have our own, but my DH and DS are listed on one together. The second page, where there is a bar code, has two bar codes with one of their names above each. Is this normal? I don't know why my youngest (age 7) got her own booklet, but my 11 year old is listed with his dad. Any ideas?

Princess VIJA- take as many of your hands on items you did in student teaching with you for the interviews. That is how I got my first teaching job. They loved all the tangible stuff I showed them that I did with the kids. Also, around here, they hire all through the summer, but mainly right before school starts. Keep thinking positive, it will work out for the best.

I just found out from my college roomie that they gave our orginal stateroom away to some families traveling together. Since we wanted a split bath, they have upgraded us to a category 7, navigator's verandah. That is fantastic! I have been on 4 Disney cruises and always had a category 10, inside stateroom that I loved. I will love trying out a verandah. I did not want to pay for the more expensive stateroom and now we got a free upgrade!It can't get better than that. I did not hear if our docs came or not.

Vija- lots of pixie dust coming your way!! Be patient, it took me 2 years out of school before I got a job. Don't let it get you down right now, focus on the vacation and enjoy it!!!! Your time will come!

Rebecca-we didn't get very much anyway. I did everything on line and we only have a few pages total. We have the following:
1 page with mailing info with all our names
2 page-something with barcodes and it says for transportation use only
3/4-important messages about charging priviledges, weapons policy
5 ground transfers info ( we didn't get)
6 form for transfers if we want them

We also got luggage tags, Bahamas immigration card and the letter that came with it.

Princess Vija- don't give up! What do you want to teach? Where do you live? There are sooooo many openings here in Georgia, I'm surprised you would have trouble finding a teaching job anywhere in the US. Maybe some states are in better shape then we are here?
Tomorrow I go to a Legal Update class. I always leave those afraid to look at, speak to or touch any child. Good thing I take it at the beginning of the summer, so I can be over it and ready for my 5 year olds in August!

rebcam- last time my DD and I had our own booklets, but this time we are both on 1. I think it has to do with filling out the paperwork/forms in advance on line? I only have the Bahamas form to fillout and I need to print the cruise contract and sign and take.

Minnie7701- I vaguely remember a door hook on the back of the bathroom doors? I could be wrong and it could just be WDW resorts I'm thinking of?

40mom- My DD is loving it that she will have a great new friend when she gets to the port. She has looked at the activities that are offered and hopes that she and your DD will be on the same teams!

Doing the Doc Dance - They were outside my door when I got home. Only one booklet this time but it had all of our names in it and all our information.

40Mom - Thanks for the info on the baskets, I will hopefully be calling tomorrow to order them for the girls.

BethA - Sorry about your dog. It is never easy losing a loyal pet.

We are doing the Xcaret excursion on Cozumel but am starting to get envious about the Maj. Beach gathering. Maybe we can come back in time to catch up with everyone. When I looked at our documentation it said we were leaving Cozumel at 11pm. Did anyone else notice that? I thought we were expected to sail at 5ish.

Princess Vija - Here is pixie dust coming your way Just keep your hopes up and don't give up, I am sure something will come through. When I was at college I sent out 40 letters for a summer internship and 1 came through. It was the best job and I was glad I didn't give up.

It's 9:45 p.m and I just checked my door again -- no docs for me yet Guess it's taking longer because I used a TA.

Lorie -- I was looking over the Navigator's from May 27th. The all ashore time for Costa Maya is 8:15 a.m and Parrot Cay doesn't serve breakfast until 8:00 -- maybe we should meet at Topsider's at 7:30 a.m
What do you think? What about everyone else?

I went back and read the posts I missed and I wanted to say to BethA, I am so sorry for the loss of your dog. Sending you some hugs to help ease the pain of loss.

I got an email from my TA, she said the docs haven't arrived yet, but as soon as they do she will email them. I can't wait! DH packed tonight! LOL! I can't pack until the day before, how can he pack 2 weeks before?

I can't believe it is so close!

Well, my stuff and all incidentals are ready to put in the luggage. Now I just have to get the guys all ready, but I even have most of their stuff out. Well not the things that they still need to wear.

I dawned on me this morning that I made a mistake in my last post. I had the Maj. Beach meet at Cozumel and it is at Costa Maya . Sorry about that I don't want to get anyone else confused. So if we get done with the tours early we will head over.

Minnie 7701- There are hooks on the bathroom doors that I remember from this spring. There is also a line you can string across the bathtub/shower to hand wet stuff on.

Sujo- WAHOO!! on 15 pounds!! You should be so proud of yourself!!! I was going to say keep eating your fruit and drinking water at those grad parties, but I was at a grad party last night that had no fruit but lots of pasta salads made with mayo!!!!

Okay, here's the latest poll for this board: are you on the early or late dinner rotation? We're on the late and really hope to move to early (especially now that DD10 has been emailing BairdBeth's DD10!!! )

We have late seating. We have had early in the past and always felt a rushed on port days. We decided to give late a try. Plus since we live on the west coast, hopefully it won't feel too late for us.

We're just the opposite of Carole, we've always had late seating and went with early seating this time because although there is food everywhere, we were starving by dinnertime and we didn't want to ruin our appetites for 2 appetizers, 2 entrees etc.

Princess: Keep trying, many schools hire all summer! We have 9 days left! Field day was rained out ( I hate field day) But, we'll have it next Friday, at least it's later. Grades don't close until the 14th and the kids always think they're done learning after field day!

The Navigators can be found by- going to the top of Disboard click on DCL Main when the page comes up look on the left for navigators then click on it. The first listing will be for the lates cruise of DD castaway cay. Hope that helps.

Try your signature again and make sure you click on save changes good luck.
