...went with early seating this time because although there is food everywhere, we were starving by dinnertime and we didn't want to ruin our appetites for 2 appetizers, 2 entrees etc.

I know I don't contribute much here. I sure do learn a lot by reading what all you crazy people talk about. We were upgraded to a verandah room on level 7...I'm excited...we received our luggage tags and misc. docs today...can't wait to get out of here and leave the phone and email behind!!!

I booked through a TA also. I emailed him today and he hasn't received them yet. He said he expects them by the end of the week.

received docs yesterday via ups - there wasn't much in the envelope as everything was done online! but it was nice to get something. We can't decide on san francisco beach or paradise beach yet for cozumel - i guess whatever most people are going to. i think probably paradise beach is the best bet with kids. How do you get upgraded? that's never happened to us, i wish it would!

barbarac-I also wonder how people get chosen for upgrades. I know we requested our room for sentimental reasons, but if I were offered an upgrade with let's say a verandah, Hey I'm all for it!!!

My TA left me a message yesterday that she had received our docs. I will pick them up after work tomorrow.

Princess Vija-I'm sure something will come along. I know that our elementary school has 11 teachers retiring at the end of this school year. We are located about an hour away from Pittsburgh.

BethA-Sorry for the loss. My MIL just put down her toy poodle last month and it was so heart breaking for all of us. My three yr old toy poodle is lost without her.

I feel like an outcast because I work at a bank!

I really need this vacation!! Can't wait to meet everyone!

No docs here in Cincinnati yet.....I booked through Costco.

Question about Maj Beach.....anybody know if there's an age requirement on driving waverunners? My DS-13 is really looking forward to that, so if he's going to be disappointed, I figure I better break that to him now.

In Cozumel, we're going to head to Paradise Beach. The San Francisco Beach deal looks nice, but the kids don't eat enough and we don't drink enough to make it worthwhile.

It's getting close!!!!!!

I'll be an outcast with you....I work for a private trust company. (I was with a bank for 10 years)

However, I'm with ALL the teachers, I can't wait for school to be over! My DS has 6 more days. I love the summer break from the routine as much as my son.

We have early dinner seating. We have done both, but prefer the early seating with the 2DSs.

DDD I have not lost any recently, but I guess the good side is that I have not gone up any. I have a hard time when traveling to lose weight, I have been out of town more than in town in the last few weeks.

I have been very busy at work with a computer conversion and year-end, so I am way behind the rest of you! I will be very ready for a vacation by the end of next week.

A few updates…

My cruise docs arrived! I was worried because we had nine people out front doing landscaping and paving our driveway and I was concerned that the UPS truck wouldn’t even be able to fit in the cul-de-sac.

Lorie, I followed up on your recommendation and got Art’s shuttle to take us from the resort to the port (rather than using the free Magical Express to the airport and then DCL from the airport to the port). It only costs $20 more than our original plan, and we can schedule our departure time. We are hoping to get to the port by 10:30 to visit with all of you while we wait to board!

I also called Shirley for gift baskets per DIS recommendations. She was very nice! She is putting together some ideas and she will call me back.

We have early seating. We requested the 6:00 LAP rotation so we didn’t end up at 5:30, that would be too early.

What is with this web site server being so busy! I typed this up separately while I was thinking about it, and then just pasted it in.

Hey guys- I'm not a teacher either. I'm actually a SAHM and will be helping out with my DH's new practice. Not working full time was part of our deal when we moved. I did work for many years at an insurance company in Manhattan. Don't miss the commuting, that's for sure!

No docs today, but I called Costco this morning and they have them in their hands. They just have to check them over and they'll send them out. But she said, "you should get them within a week". I wanted to say but, but, all my Dis friends have them and I'm the only one that doesn't and....oh, she wouldn't understand. Just send them to me already so I can do my doc dance lady!! I have a feeling she wouldn't understand that either.

Meg- We are on deck 6 as well. I can see it now...the girls will be running back and forth between cabins! You are welcome to try to link with us for early seating. We are sitting with my friend and her DS(10). It would be great to add more!
For DDD's- I am down 15 pounds, but some of that may come back as I rehydrate after being sick last weekend. All we can do is our best before the cruise! As for the cruise.. I am eating what I want!!!!!
I had a Legal Update class today and all I could think about is what I needed to pack for the cruise! It did help me stay awake!
I'm glad to see that several of us are using Shirley for gift baskets. She is a wonderful lady and I am sure we will all be more than satisfied!

Princess Vija - Ever thought of moving to Las Vegas. There was a story on the news the other day that the district needs 1000 teachers for next year.

Oh MY GOSH! I wish I could be in an area that needed teachers! That would be a dream. However in Wisconsin it seems like there are 1000 candidates per job opening. Thank you to all of you with your words of encouragement and support. It really made me feel special to know that so many people care and are wishing me good luck!

My TA said she got the Docs and will be sending them out tomorrow. We also decided on a day to celelbrate our anniversary so she is adding that to our ressie.

I can't wait to contact Shirley. My kids are going to be so surprised.

We are doing the early seating and hope to have the APL rotation. I know we will have to eat early, but hopefully it will work out ok for us.

We also are on deck 6. I think deck 6 should belong to DIS'ers!

On the May 27 Double Dip thread, they listed the character breakfasts as follows:
APL Thursday (5:30 and 8:00)
LAP Monday (6:00 and 8:30)
PLA Friday (5:45 and 8:15)

Can you believe that the PLA rotation had the character breakfast on Friday, the second CC day. Early seating has it at 8 which isn't too bad, but late seating has it at 9:45. Why would you book a Double Dip cruise and then miss half the day at a character breakfast?

Marie-we requested the 6 for main seating as well. We had it at one time on our ressie and then they changed it back to main seating, so I think I'll call and check!!! I've got a my list of things to remember to do before we leave in 2 weeks (flight is Thursday!!).

what time did you ask Art's to pick you up? We requested 9. Of course they tried to tell me this was too early, but I know from my dis friends that we will be allowed to go in at 10!!! You get a #1 boarding card right? I'm trying for #2!!

If I do get that dinner time and anyone wants my character bk tickets, let me know cause we don't use them.

Bairdbeth - how do I request linking to your seating? My daughter would be thrilled! She wants to get online all the time to check and see if she's gotten a message from your DD!! Curiously, it seems a lot like her mother who wants to get on the board all the time to see what's been posted!

Do we have to wait until we check in to find out what our dinner rotation is going to be?

Barbarac-thanks for the update on the docs. I've never been on a cruise so don't know what to expect. I know that everyone is excited when their docs arrive. And I know I'm still waiting for them to arrive!! I'll give it another day and then it's time to call the TA!!! Any other 40 year olds who don't have their docs yet?

Sounds like there are a lot of girls ages 8 to 10. We probably should have started a thread for them to post to eachother. It's not too late! Anybody interested?
