06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

My wife, Rebcam, has been having so much fun reading this board that I thought I would give it a try.

I find that the Active X controls, that many interactive sites use, do not function well with Firefox. I don't know how they work but I do know that it is a Microsoft application and making it compatable with anything non-Microsoft, especially anying form the makers of Netscape, will most likely be problematic.

Best advise, have both browses, IE and Firefox, available and use the other when one won't work. You can have them both open at the same time and tab back and forth. Good luck

Crescam-welcome!!! and thanks for the advice. I know I'm now breathing and I'm happy to be going on a cruise!! So, thanks to all who listened to my rants and raves. I was (and still am ) sooooo tired and of course everything appears bigger!!!

I'm not sure what the problem is, but according to DCL, it's not my computer or browser. They couldn't get in either!!

Lorie, so sorry for all your problems. Hope it doesn't start your cruise off on a sour note. (just a joke on your career. Boy am i tired.)

I was up at 3:00 and I had not set the alarm. I just woke up and saif might as well see what I can book. What a pain booking reservations for our entire group with three different rooms and reservation numbers. I was having to switch back in forth after each booking to be sure I received the same times for all. Luckily I was only booking 2 palo reservations. One for my mom and dad for bruch on Monday and one for my mom and sister for high tea on Thursday. My mom is a caterer and always looking for new ideas so she likes to go to all of the food events. I booked the brunch first thing at 3:03AM and the only times left were 11:30 and 12:30; I got 11:30.I got thr high tea with no problem. Then I went for the excursions. remember having to go between 3 reservations I nooked Parasailing for me, my sister, and my 9 yr old DS on Friday at 1:30, Sting Ray on CC on Friday at 10:00AM for all, Ruins tour for my DW and sister on Coz, Submarine on Coz for all the rest of us ( my mom and dad wanted to do the exporer submersible boat, but it was not showing on the excursions and I was afraid of not booking the sub for them that they may not have anything) , then we had not decided what to do on CM and some wanted to do the all terrain truck so I booked it for all and may cancel. I wanted to do the tour with Ivan and David at CM, but we were not sure about DSs and my Mom and Dad. It took me from 3Am to almost 4Am to book everything.

Any suggestions for CM for my Mom and Dad would be appreciated. They have trouble standing for long periods of time and my Dad is not supposed to be in the direct sun for long periods of time, and we were afraid after 2 visits to CC that he probably should not have a 3rd day of a lot of sun.

Hope everything works out Lorie. By the way, I cannot tell how many day until spring break or the end of school, but I am sure my DW could tell you the days, hours, minutes, and probably amout of seconds until both.

We've been disboard readers for a while now, but this is my first post
We've learned a lot from reading all your suggestions and tips, which is how we thankfully found out we would be able to reserve @ 3 am. Thanks to these wonderful posts, we were able to get all the spa, dining, and excursion ressies we wanted!!!! However, we are EXHAUSTED!! My husband does a radio show which requires him to get up at 4:30 am on Saturdays (I, of course, have to get up to listen) so going to bed at 4:30 am Sun made for a very long day for us.
By the way, I am also a teacher (7th and 8th grade math)

This will be our 5th Disney cruise, we've been addicted since our first honeymoon cruise 4/2000 (4 night Wonder)

Tinky, my birthday is on 6/24, too, and I teach 7th grade reading, language, and social studies! No, I don't know how many days are left in the year, but I can tell you that there are 10 school days until spring break. After that, the end of the year comes fast and furious, with state testing and end-of-the-year activities. The cruise will be here before we know it, but it still can't come fast enough.

We've been reading a lot of the posts, but it is a little overwhelming, so much info!!!
We're doing the Fury Catamaran in Coz, but had just planned on exploring Costa Maya on our own especially the maj beach and village.
Since we live close, we visit WDW quite often. We do have a timeshare (Vistana) for two weeks in June, hopefully it works out that we can be there before leaving for the cruise, but have not decided on those plans just yet.
Only 44 days of school left and REALLY looking forward to a few Konk Koolers!!!!
Not really sure of all the Dis meets, maybe you can help fill me in!

muiscgirl - I used to always remind my husband about 6/24 my b-day almost everyday when the clock shows 6:24. Now he tells me about his birthday time when ever its 10:19. The silly jokes we play! So we just had to be on the 6/24 cruise.

Oh Musicgirl, sorry you had such a hard time. Hopefully DCL will be able to work it out for you tomorrow.

We got pretty much everything we wanted. I too couldn't believe how quickly the palo times got booked. I really feel sorry for passengers that aren't CC members.

On a side note, if we booked an excursion for CC on Friday, but after visiting on Sunday decide we don't want it can we cancel it without a penalty? Up until when can you cancel excursions without incurring the entire cost?

5 school days until spring break! 40 school days left with kids and 2 post- planning days! We did ITBS last week and CoGat this week. I am only testing 1 kid as he enrolled too late to do an alternative assessment. He guessed on every question on the ITBS. It was pretty sad. I don't think the CoGat will go much better as he is MID. My daughter got her formal dress in the mail and loves it! I got my semi-formal. We are almost ready!

My beautiful wife may not be counting but I am. We have 48 days left of school. She is right about the time flying by after Spring Break. I hope I can keep up with her. She is an amazing mother and an incredible wife. I know she has already thought of all the things we need to do to get ready and my poor little brain is just discovering that I should be planning.

Oh goodnesss..Will anything be available for us first time cruisers on 4/10??? I guess we will stand out, just watch for us we will the ones walking about the ship with nothing to do!
I guess if we can make it for the brunch we will have to settle for dinner alone!
Has anyone ever had dinner at Palo while the kids do something else? How does it work? Do u make sure they are signed up for late event?

Minnie - Don't worry, you'll have plenty to do. This will be our third cruise and we ate dinner at Palo both times on our other cruises. Just check the kids into the club before you go to dinner. Tell the counselors that you are going to Palo. They try not to paige you if they know that you are at Palo. This is actually the first time that we are doing the brunch. It may be our last Disney cruise so I figured we'd try it out this time around.

Minnie-Don't be surprised if you can not book things like Palo. Since they only allow for a certain about of ressies to be done ahead of time, this gives others a chance when they board. We can meet on the 1st day to sign up for Palo!!!

crescam-you are too sweet about your dw!!! My dh has no idea about what all I've planned, all the dis meets. He'll be stunned when I actually know about all the people from the boards!!!

I am not a teacher (and I don't even play one on TV ) but I am counting down the days till the kids are out of school. With the amount of homework they keep getting and we have to help them with it, I need a summer break .

Wow you guys are lucky, I have 58 school days left! We had so many snow days, our last day is the June 21st with kids and 22nd is workshop! If we have one more freak snow day, I'm going to miss my flight on the 23rd! At least spring break is 4/21!
Hey my birthday is 6/20!
I still wasn't able to find the teen fury cat in Coz. I'm going to call disney tomorrow.

We received our confirmation email to join David and Ivan's tour in Costa Maya. I'm looking forward to that. I know the kids will have their beach time, but I also want to make sure that they see some of the history and culture of Mexico. Can't take the teacher out of me, can you? My poor kids don't stand a chance.

Plans are perking along. We booked our hotel for the night before; we're staying near MCO and will book a towncar to drive us to the port in the morning. We arrive at about 7 PM, and I didn't want it to be a late night.

Has anyone used a towncar service they like more than others? I was thinking about Tiffany Towncar, but they haven't responded to my email yet.

I know there are a lot of teachers here, and two of us with the same birthdays. How about west-coasters? I've seen someone from Las Vegas, but it looks like there aren't many of us.
