Boarding Group #s for DCL transfer WDW

We always use DCL transport from MCO, treasure we got group 3 and on the wish we got group 16.

Can I ask when you sailed on the Wish vs Treasure?

We took DCL transportation from Port Orleans Riverside back in July and got boarding group 5.

That makes sense- They recently changed the MCO boarding group so now it is 3

1 is concierge
2 is pearl/platinum
3-6 are DCL hotel transfers, but I don't think there's a way to guarantee one of them, It depends on the order DCL decides to pick people up.

I think 2 is just Pearl, Platinum doesn’t get the early boarding advantage anymore.

In May for the EBTA we stayed at CBR and had BG5 so that tracks. I really did not enjoy the WDW bus experience that cruise as we waited in the terminal forever and it was packed. I would guess a lot more people used it since it was a one way cruise as it was very different to my previous experience using it.

I checked in 3 days ago for October Treasure. We are Platinum and have transport from Hyatt Regency MCO. We were assigned Boarding Group #3.

This summer we had DCL transport from OKW to the Wish in terminal 10. Ended up with BG 5. Like many others have commented, that terminal was FULL! Uncomfortably full. As someone who pays close attention as to how many people walk in with each call of a BG, number 2 had a very small number, with BG 3, 4 and 5 having very large numbers of folks.

We just checked in for a cruise later on this Fall on the Magic out of Port Canveral, and are using DCL transport again, this time from Hyatt MCO and got BG 3.

We are Platinum and haven't gotten early BG's when not using DCL transport.

DCL cannot really control how many people will be in boarding group 2. Boarding group 2 is reserved for pearl members and the number of pearl members can change dramatically from one selling to another expect very few on a 3/4 and many on a Panama Canal sailing.

Tons of people take DCL transportation these days for the early boarding groups, which makes sense as to why groups 3-5 (and likely 6) were very full

This is the exact reason why we do it. Admittedly, it'd be much cheaper to rent a car, but we pay the premium in order to get the earlier BG. Once we hit pearl(which is quite some time away!), we'll be able to forego DCL transport, lol.
