06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

OMG, I just realized how close March 24th is and I haven't done any planning yet.... :scared1: This is so unlike me.... Last time I was planning every day, every waking minute. I have just been so busy that I haven't had any time. If you don't mine... can you tell me in a nutshell what you are doing with your excursions? I was thinking about the submarine at cozumel and the ruins at Costa Maya... just don't know yet....

Could it be the cruise that neverends??? Please!!!!!! :cloud9:

I just posted on the main board some detailed questions about Maj. Beach. I think if we hit the place with the green lounge chairs/yellow-white swirly umbrellas, it would be a great place for us to meet. The far right in this picture.

http://costamayacruiseexcursions.com/Mahahual_89.jpg

I know I posted that picture before, but I think it will be less confusing.

If I am correct the clear kayaks/jet ski/massage place would be just to the right on that picture.

A little different topic, dis meet suggestions for those interested.

1) As we sail away on deck 10 the port side.

2) A gathering at CC at Cookies the first one. That is sooooo cool to have to specify which one!!! :thumbsup2

3) Those going to Maj Beach, meet before we leave either for bk or just to head out as a group.

What do you think, all, none, just 1, just 2, just 3, 1 & 2, 1 & 3, 2 & 3, more? Did I cover EVERY possibility? Go to all, go to none, go to some...it really doesn't matter because we will be on the Magic!!!!!

Lorie,

I like 1, 2, & especially #3. We can have a dis CM beach excursion of our own! It will be nice to have a greet and meet ahead of time too!

B.B.

Jillpie (and anybody else who booked this cruise through Costco).....did you receive an invoice requesting final payment? As noted above, I would have thought they'd send me something.....my original docs indicate that final payment is due March 20, but the docs also indicate that final amount due could vary slightly, so I was thinking they'd send a final invoice. I haven't received anything. I tried to call them Friday night, but I was on hold a long time, and the intro recording indicated if you wanted to make final payment, you could just send an email authorizing final payment to the original credit card, so I eventually hung up and just tried that. I figure I'll give that until Wednesday and hope that I've heard something from them about processing that payment. I didn't really expect to have to track them down to give them my money! :confused3

Musicgirl.....all 3 of your ideas sound good to me. Just one question.....if we do #1, will we be able to see whatever is going on at the Sail Away party? (This is our first cruise, do I don't know which deck is which and where the 'stage' that I've seen in some of the pictures would be.) I definitely like the idea of #3.....heading out together sounds good.....not sure what the taxi situation is, but we're a family of 5 so if there are larger van-type taxis available, maybe we can either share some rides.

Linda

I know I am being a bit lazy here but I have four kids that really really want to try and meet some kids their own age before they get on the ship. The ages are as follows:

DS - 16
DD - 14
DD - 12
DS - 11

Feel free to PM me and we can swap information. Thanks and see ya on the Magic :cool1:

Anyone figured out how we will recongnize each other the first day. Would feel a little silly yelling out, "Hey you DIS'ers" and then waiting to see who responds. :teeth: :rolleyes1

SPJammer, are you new to this thread, if you are a huge welcome aboard!!

Lorie, love all three meets! I emailed you on "my bad" idea of starboard vs. port. It IS port side, but you'll read all about it. :) I love the idea of port because you can see the people on the ground waving, I missed that on the last cruise, we were on the other side.

Linda, I didn't receive an invoice because I paid the entire balance last Spring sometime. I'm sure you're fine with emailing it, but I'd probably give them a quick call (oh wait a minute, nothing is quick with Costco calls, lol) to confirm? I'd be glad to share a ride with you or anyone else that needs to share, as my DH won't be with me and my 2 boys. He and my oldest will be going to the ruins. So lets do it! :thumbsup2
I love the idea of all of us meeting up on the ship before going to the beach, awesome, that'll be fun.

It sounds great #1, #2 and #3. Is it time to pack? :woohoo:
Can 6/24 ever get here????????????????? It feels like a lifetime. I don't know what I will after this cruise? :rolleyes2
I can't wait to meet you all!
Buzz I will have my daughter send a quick message today 3/13!

Is anyone using a car service to & from the port - I used Happy Limo 2 years ago & they were ok, but i've been reading trip reports with very bad news about them. I've heard tiffany town cars aren't that great either.
Does anyone know of a really good service? I really don't want to take the Disney bus. Thanks for any help you can provide.

barbarac can't help you there as we are driving down from Michigan. Figured this way we could extend the trip a bit on the way back and visit friends and family. Not really looking forward to driving with 4 kids in the car. :scared1:

Jillpie nope not really new, been lurking around here for the a few weeks now. We just booked the cruise in late January and am still trying to get over the sticker shock of two Cat 9's for 7 people but the kids are worth every penny as far as I am concerned and I am sure that the memories they bring back from this will last a lot longer then some physical object that they would eventually break and throw away. :teeth:

barbarac-We have used Tiffany and had great luck. Last time (2004), we used Art's shuttle for airport to port round trip for $105. It has gone up a bit since then. For these trips, they use mini-vans not the big cargo vans that they use for the hotels to port at Cocoa beach.

We are using them for WDW to port to airport for $170.

I have heard good and bad things on just about every car service. I'm guessing no one can be perfect all the time. It's just that when a diser has a bad experience, we share!!!!

I posted about Art's on the main board and someone told me to watch out. I feel very comfortable with them. I just always remember to call a few days ahead to confirm and then confirm a 2nd time the day before.

SPJ-Jill and I both have ds-15. My ds will be 16 in Sept. I don't know if he will e-mail, IM or what. He has a girlfriend and is a little busy IM-ing her. I'm sure they are trying to decide how to solve world peace!!!

I'm not sure how we can identify everyone. I know what Jill looks like, so I've got one done. Here's our photo gallery from our Magic trip. I'm the short blond. So if you want, you can all look for me.

Enjoy the album if you get really bored!!!

SPJ-where is Burt Lake in regards to where you live? DH's uncle lives there, beautiful area.

Vija-What did you figure out with your plans so far? You've still got plenty of time. As of today, CC members have 11 days until we can book!
Plus, it's so hard to book for Coz anyway. If you want a DCL excursion though, just book it. If we don't go, it's not like you have to pay for it. Happy searching!

I see that he is a Troll. That is what the Yoopers call people that live in lower Michigan. We are located about the middle of the Upper Penninsula. I was getting excited because we actually got into the high 30's this past week and the snow was melting. :cool1: Right now though it's back in the mid 20's or so and we are supposed to average around 2 to 3 inches of snow per hour for the rest of the night. All ready have a 3 ft drift in my driveway. :furious: Definitely can not wait until June.

Boy! I thought we had it bad going from 80's on Sunday to a high of 59 tomorrow. Ya'll keep the snow and cold up there! We are in the full bloom of Spring down here! On our first cruise I had a lime green Mickey paint chip (from Home Depot) on my clear passporter pocket and met a couple of people that way. We are taking the Radisson shuttle at 10:00 am so we can get there early! Come on June!!!

Just a few photos of the lovely snow for you all to enjoy.

I am with you Bairdbeth. I live in Virginia and we have had 4 beautiful days. But already this morning the temperature is down again? :sad2:
It is crazy weather here, one day hot one day cold. No wonder our kids are always sick.... :confused3
We are flying in the day off the cruise, has anyone ever done this? I guess I can call to find out if we can choose a time? I would love to leave DC airport as early as possible. :cool1:

Any advice?

Minnie, I'm guessing you have booked your flights through DCL? If you did, I don't think you get any say in time or stopovers.

We will be coming from ASMU. I'm hoping to be there by 10am as well.

SPJ-I'll have to mention troll to dh's uncle!!! That is so much snow!!! We didn't really have any this year. Which meant no snow days for us!!! If it is going to be cold, I want snow and lots of it!!! It not, bring on spring!!!

I would suggest wearing lime green, but that doesn't always work.

Last time we were waiting in the terminal, there was this girl completely dressed in green, shoes, dress, hat. NOT one of us!!! OOPS!!!
