06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

Woo Hoo! I am paid in full! Now if we can just find out if we are going to Cozumel before the 90 day mark! :stitch: :sulley: :goofy: :mickeyjum :donald:

I know how that feeling is about paying off the cruise!!! :thumbsup2

Personally, I just had to post on our thread for this upcoming event........

My 2000th post!!!!!!

Yes, it would be nice to know what is going on. I think our best bet will be to watch the May double dippers. Whatever they do, I'm sure we will too.

Meanwhile, I would be ready by searching Gr. Cayman since DCL is still going there and it is close.

I'm sure we will not know in 21 days, yes I did say 21 days!!! :teeth:
I would just book everything based on going to Coz. If they switch, obviously the excursions would be cancelled. I wonder if you would officially have to do that yourself? If they switch, we'll be in the same boat :guilty: (guilty of a bad pun) as everyone else on the ship!

It is going fast, but I'm not sure how I will be able to stand the wait!!! As you can probably guess, I'm on these boards everyday!!! I don't know if that makes it more tolerable or worse!!!

Congrats on 2000! Only 21 days?! Yeah! At least I can make reservations for the stingrays on CC and one of the ruins tours in Costa Maya. I will have to wait on Cozumel as we will either do Dolphin Royal Swim on our own if it is open or go to mini golf and wander around.

Ok ok...What is the deal with the Island activities? Is it better to do your own or to go with Disney? For example how much is the Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure????
I want to do a couple of things but we are kind of limited because our DS is only (5) and I also don't want to wear them out to much.
Any advice?
I think going into this site is a big help!
:cheer2:

I think that doing things are a lot cheaper than the excursions from DCL, especially in Coz.

for example
Sea Lion discovery and snorkel-through DCL it would be $165 for the 3 of us. i can go to the same place for $56 which includes admission to the park and the taxi.

Reef Snorkel- DCL-$84, I can do it on my own for $20 since we have our own snorkel equipment. It is a short 10 min. drive to Playa Corona,

Coz beach break-$150 DCL this includes buffett and drinks wihich is good. But I could book it on my own for $25 per person plus $24 total taxi.

These are just some examples.

For Coz. with little ones, probably visiting Chank. Park is the best. That is the 1st one I mentioned. Unfortunately, they are not sure when it will be fully opened.

In Costa Maya, some of us are planning to go to Maj. Beach which is a short taxi ride down the street and they have water craft rentals, horseback riding, massages, snorkeling etc. Very clear water. Check out the sites on p. 24 or 25 for some great pictures of Maj. Beach. If you have trouble finding the pics, just let me know.

I have not heard much about the Uvero Beach, I do know it is a 45 min. ride. Ugh!!! And there is quite a bit of sea grass.

In Costa Maya, right at the dock is a pool(fresh water, not chlorine) with entertainment and shopping. It looks beautiful and fun but I have read some people hate it.

CC- well obviously you can not do this on your own. There is lots to do without putting out a lot of money, like the new treasure hunt. The kids can check into the clubs-I understand they do NOT take them near the water.

You can rent a raft for a few bucks rather than get the CC get-a-way package. You do not need to do that ahead of time. I would wait on that depending on the weather etc.

I'd love to join a group that is heading out to Maj. Beach. If you all will be ok with that? Please let me know maybe we can meet for brunch one morning to meet each other (those that don't know each other?) My DH and I will be a great asset since we are bilingual (Spanish).... :surfweb:
I am glad my parents made my learn spanish... :thumbsup2
It is very hard to do the same with my kids....Sometimes we get lazy and don't push it as hard.. :confused3

Minnie, that would be great! Ok Lorie, how much of a fun group do we have so far to the beach...its me and possibly two of my boys (DH and oldest will be going to the ruins), Lorie's family (Musicgirl) and Minnie. Can we persuade more to come and parrtaaaaaaay at Maj. beach with us? :woohoo:

Oh yeah!! A party at the beach!! I'm sooooo there!!! Relaxing on a beautiful beach!!! Anyone up for hitting the wave runners?
Minnie, that would be a great idea to meet for some food and then we could all end up at the same place on the beach. We should probably at least post a place to meet on the beach anyway so those who want to show up whenever can find a group of disers to "hang with" :thumbsup2 Am I hip or what!!!

Here are some Maj Beach pictures to dream about!!

Oh that beautiful water!!!
I'm hoping we can rent the clear kayaks. The last picture has a sign about it, but I think you have to do an excursion. :sad2:

I think the 3rd link says it all! jet skis, clear kayaks and cheap massages!!!

to "hang with" :thumbsup2 !

I think the word we are looking for is "chillin". Ya, thats it. Chillin. Well, now I have to go look at those links!!

Cmon guys, who else is comin with us? We neeeeeed you to party on down!

Oh Yay :cool1: Carole's comin with us!!!!! :wizard: :wizard:

Those pictures were absolutely gorgeous. Now, can we buy lunch there or do we pack a lunch from the ship?

It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to pack a lunch for the "picky" eaters. My ds-Andrew!!!

Someone told me about a place to eat. I'm sure it's in my notes somewhere or in an pm.

Today is a great day to look at those beautiful pictures. It's rainy and cold.

Here's an e-mail from a diser. We got to talking and found out that I actually had her kids in my class at one point in time!!!

Love, love, love Costa Maya. Take the bus (taxi) at the port and go to Majahual (sp?). It is unreal. You will walk down about half way on the road (no cars allowed) and there is a larger grass roof bar/restaurant where the workers wear yellow golf shirts. They have about 4 tables and 8 beach chairs. It was a fantastic day at the beach. The locals are fabulous, but very poor. Right next to the place there is a shrine to Mary on the beach. The little school girls came after school and went in and prayed before they started selling handmade bracelets. The food was great and no one got sick from it. We payed $35 to rent jet skis and that was a steal compared to every other port. The whole day we spent about $50 for all 5 of us, it was a great day.

Sounds Great to me!!!

In my notes I have written to find the place with green lounge chairs. They have a huge platter for $15. I didn't write down the details, but it sounded good.

For more beautiful pictures of CM, just scroll down the main list.

Maybe we can see the place with the green lounge chairs or the people with yellow shirts!!!

Want to talk about expensive??? The DCL excursion to this beach for the clear kayaks is $60 per person. That's $180 for the 3 of us. This only is for the kayaks and transportation. There are no snacks or drinks included.

On our own, it will cost us $20 for the taxi total. I can not imagine that it would cost that much to get the kayaks if we are able.

We would love to join you all in Majahaul! Sounds like lots of fun!

Jillpie -- you mentioned your son(s) may come along -- my ds is 13, I'm concerned about him on the cruise because he is rather quiet in crowds. But he loves sports and we are planning to stay busy on the cruise -- so I'm sure he will love it. But it would be great if he had another guy to hang with on the beach -- know what I mean?!

Just let us know where the meeting place is and we are up for a party in CM!

B.B.

All--Count us in to join all of you at the beach on Costa Maya! Sounds absolutely fantastic! The kids will love those wave runners in particular.

Fantasia MM--Our oldest is a DS and is just turning 13 in May. He's also very into sports but can be a bit of a loner in a new situation. It'd be great to get our DS' together.....not sure if teenage boys would get into emailing in advance (mine's not much of a phone talker or a writer), but we could try. If you think your DS would be interested, please send me a PM and we can exchange email addresses. Same goes for anybody else with DS at similar age!

Also, anybody have a DD aroud 8 or 9 who would be interested in emailing in advance? My DD will be turning 9 in May and she's very interested in emailing....I mentioned last weekend that that might be a possibility and she's been asking me every day since if I found anybody for her yet.

Our third child is a DS-6....no point in getting an email buddy for him, but I just couldn't not mention him!
