05/24-05/31/14 - The Disney Fantasy, (Bob) Marley and Me on The FANTASTICAL VOYAGE!

Hi everybody!! We booked this cruise onboard our last cruise on the Fantasy this past Spring Break! We're excited to try out the Western Caribbean this time!

DIS Name: ladybugmom
Names: Becky (34/DW), Brent (40/DH), Ally (9/DD), & Claire (6/DD)
From: Memphis, Tennessee
Stateroom(s): 7548
Celebration(s) During the Cruise: our 15th anniversary (6/26/99)

Prior Disney Cruises/ships (MM/YY): May 2012 Eastern Caribbean (stop in St. Maarten) on the Disney Fantasy & March 2013 Eastern Caribbean (stop in San Juan) on the Disney Fantasy
A few words about you and your group: We love all things Disney!! We have been to Disney World & Disneyland many times and we have been hooked on DCL since we first sailed in 2012! I am a Disney Travel Agent--I LOVE planning magical vacations for others! We live in TN but we are HUGE BAMA fans--ROLL TIDE!! (my hubby's alma mater) We are all very excited about sailing on the Fantasy for a 3rd time! :goodvibes

Everyone staying safe? Not a fan of this dangerous weather!

We are right in the thick of it. It's almost like the tornado bounced because even in arial pics, it's difficult to recognize a path. There's some devastation around in all directions but we are good. I've not heard of any fatalities. Once we were able to confirm family and friends were ok, we were able to exhale. We live just off of Dingledine near Towers. Actually between Dingledine and Pitman. Drove by a house today that had a hard shell camper overturned and impaled into the front of a house. Just surreal images.

We are safe. We are healthy. We are blessed.

Welcome to our new friends.....it's late, and our house is a bit sleep deprived lately, so I will attempt to get your profiles updated tomorrow. Woooooohoooooooo....less than a year away!!!!

So glad you are safe; praying for all those affected with the devastation.

I know is too early yet, but I have my samples of what will be my FE gifts. I can not wait to distribute. My room is an inside stateroom, so dont get crazy trying to find it!!. I did it because I save a lot and now I will use that money to a pre and post WDW vacation.

I'm curious for those of you who cruise regularly what port excursions are you making sure you do? Didn't know if there was one you really enjoyed that you would make sure to do again. Also, do you do it through DCL or do you book them on your own?

I will do my excursions thru DCL, I want to enjoy the ship the most so, my excursions will be only to know a little bit of each city and then return to the ship, because I have first sitting.

Me (39) DH (37) DS (9) DS (5) from Macon, GA - celebrating end of school. First seating - and not sure about Fish Extenders (is that what they are called?!) sounds really fun, but have NO idea what they are, how to find one, and what they do?! Looking forward to finding out!!:yay:

Thanks in advance for all the help and advice for us first timers/newbs!

Welcome aboard to the best trip of your life!

"That is so cool. Welcome to our group. We have a 19 year old dd she will be twenty next month and will turn 21 two weeks before our cruise! She acts like we are disney crazy but she is a disney freak too! She is just at the too cool for mickey stage. Did your son meet anyone on the last cruise? Too old for the kid clubs but too young for the night clubs. I'm sure he had a great time too. Glad to have you join the boards."

Our last cruise was DH and my 25th wedding anniversary, so we went by ourselves. Both of my sons love Disney cruises. Although, they really enjoyed the Vibe and all the friends they made. Last year my DS, that was 18 on the cruise, still did have a good time. He met up with the 18-21 group and did some activities with them. He likes us, so he spent a lot of time with us...lol We cruised in June, so he had just graduated from high school and had not been a part of the college scene yet. He would have preferred being in the Vibe. We were not sure if DS (19- who will be 20 at time of sailing) would want to go on this May 24th cruise, but we got a resounding YES! The other DS(24) is a not sure at this point.

We have dd 21 that says she will go and our ds 24 is not sure yet! So we are the flip of you!

We just got off the Fantasy over this past weekend and we rebooked onboard. It is going to be hard to wait a whole year before we see the Fantasy again. . . . Looking forward to another awesome cruise!

Cant wait to do tons of planning and read all about you all and get to hopefully meet some of you.
My DS 6 is painfully shy so it would be great to meet up with others his age?

HAPPY SAILING!!!!

We have some boys that are going that will be 6 &7 and 10. I think he will be fine! Welcome!

Thank you. When we went on the Magic in 2011 DS was just 3 and a few months and he did not like the kids club. The CM's did not engage the kids at that time, they simply stood and watched and ds was painfully shy and it was not a good fit for him. He didn't spend anytime there other then the open houses with us there. This cruise, I purposely booked it at the end of his kindergarten year, hoping that he will come out of his shell a bit and praying he likes the club better and will do better on his own. NOT because I want him in the club the entire vacation. But because I do want him to be comfortable there for 2 visits; one so dh and i can celebrate our 15 year anniversary with a brunch at Palo and if we are lucky that he does well, I do want to try a night at Remy.

Maybe if we have a Dis meet - he can meet some of the other kids. I know my Daughter is going to start writing to another girl and so she will have a friend or friends prior to the cruise but she is older and the opposite of my little guy.

Either way, this is a family vacation first and if it doesnt work out, it will still be ok because you know what - we are on the Fantasy!!!!

Here's to a great year!!!!!

Hi! My DS(5) is the same and super shy. I usually have to help him get started with talking to a kid and then he's usually ok. I've also heard from others that they had kids that hated the clubs and did not want to stay. I hope it's not that way for mine. I would like him to have fun on our cruise and enjoy himself too! But yes, all will be ok cause we'll be on the Fantasy!

Anyone thinking of running the Castaway Cay 5k?
I think I would like to, and my dd12 wants to as well so maybe us girls will participate and leave the boys behind as ds will be 6 and too young to run.
Anyone else?

I'm pretty sure my DH will run it. I don't know if I will or not, might depend on if DS wants to. He started running cross county since we were last at CC, so he might want to try it.
